Modeling of Left Ventricular Assist Device and Suction Detection Using Fuzzy Subtractive Clustering Method (퍼지 subtractive 클러스터링 기법을 이용한 좌심실보조장치 모델링 및 흡입현상 검출)

  • A method to model left ventricular assist device (LVAD) and detect suction occurrence for safe LVAD operation is presented. An axial flow blood pump as a LVAD has been used to assist patient with heart problems. While an axial flow blood pump, a kind of a non-pulsatile pump, has relative advantages of small size and efficiency compared to pulsatile devices, it has a difficulty in determining a safe pump operating condition. It can show different pump operating statuses such as a normal status and a suction status whether suction occurs in left ventricle or not. A fuzzy subtractive clustering method is used to determine a model of the axial flow blood pump with this pump operating characteristic and the developed pump model can provide blood flow estimates before and after suction occurrence in left ventricle. Also, a fuzzy subtractive clustering method is utilized to develop a suction detection model which can identify whether suction occurs in left ventricle or not.

  • This paper discusses the multifrontal direct solution method with out of core storage for large scale structural analysis in a limited computing resource. Large scale structural analysis requires huge amount of memory space and computation, so out of core solution method is needed in limited computing resource. In this research, out of core multifrontal solution algorithm which utilize the small size of physical memory and minimize the amount of access of low speed out of core storage is introduced. Three ideas, which are stack space in lower trianglar part of square factorization matrix, inverse stack data structure and selective data caching and recovery by data block size, are proposed.

  • 미국 국방부의 통제하에 운용되고 있는 GPS위성항법체계는 군사용뿐만 아니라 일반 상업용으로도 폭 넓게 사용되고 있다. 근래 승용차에 부착되어 출고되는 운전보조장치로서의 GPS는 가히 혁명적이라고 할 만하다. 지금까지 GPS는 함정이나 항공기와 같이 장거리 운항장비에 보조적인 항법장치로서 활용되는 것으로 인식되어 왔으나 미래는 미국의 주도하에 주항법장치로서 사용하는 무기체계도 개발될 전망이다. 본 자료에서는 첨단무기체계를 대부분 해외도입에 의존하고 있는 한국군의 입장으로서 GPS 위성항법체계에 대한 허와 실을 고찰하고자 한다.

Evaluations on the Characteristics of Pressure Drop f3r the Design of Intravascular Artificial Lung Assist Device (혈관 내 폐 보조장치 설계를 위한 압력손실 특성 평가)

  • In this study, we try to formularize simultaneous equations to make a prediction about pressure drop for designing intravascular artificial lung assist device. Designing parameters to predict the effect of pressure drop and designed modules under various conditions were studied through an experimental modeling before inserting the artificial lung assist device into as venous. We measured pressure drop in various number of hollow fiber membranes, when the inside diameter of shell is fixed in 3 cm, and tried to develope the prediction equations by curve fitting based on the correlation between the experimental pressure drop and the device frontal area or packing density. The results showed that pressure drop increased with 2nd order functional formula as the liquid flow rate, the frontal area, and the packing density increased. Also, we can estimate the pressure drop as a function of the frontal area or packing density. The pressure drop obtained from the experiment was similar to that from the equation, confirming the usefulness of the equation.

전기철도차량 전력변환장치 성능시험 기술

  • 전기철도차량에는 대용량 추진제어 컨버터/인버터부터 소용량 스위칭 모드 전원장치에 이르기까지 철도차량의 운행에 필요한 각종 동력 및 전력을 공급하기 위한 여러 가지 형태의 전력변환장치가 사용되고 있다. 그 중 가장 대표적인 전력변환장치가 추진제어인버터와 보조전원장치이다. 전기철도차량의 성능평가는 전력변환장치의 성능평가라 할 수 있을 정도로 많은 비중을 전력변환장치가 차지하고 있다. 한국철도기술연구원은 국토해양부로부터 지정받은 성능시험기관으로서 국내 도시철도 및 철도차량의 성능평가를 수행하고 있다. 성능시험은 차량의 제작공정에 따라 부품시험, 구성품시험, 완성차시험, 예비주행 및 본선시운전의 각 단계별로 실시하고 그 시험기준으로 도시철도차량의 성능시험에관한기준 및 철도차량성능시험 시행지침이 적용된다. 성능시험기준을 근간으로 추진제어인버터와 보조전원장치의 성능시험 대한 시험항목과 시험방법에 대하여 소개한다.

Harmonic Reduction Scheme By the Advanced Auxiliary Voltage Supply (개선된 보조전원장치에 의한 고조파 저감대책)

  • Diode rectifiers are very popular in industry. However, they include large low-order harmonics in the input current and do not satisfy harmonic current content restrictions. To reduce the harmonics to the power system, several methods have been introduced. It is heavy and expensive solution to use passive filters as the solution for high power application. Another solution for the harmonic filter is utilization of active filter, but it is too expensive solution. Diode rectifiers with configurations using switching device have been introduced, but they are very complicated. The combined 12-pulse diode rectifier with the square auxiliary voltage supply has been introduced. It has the advantages that auxiliary circuit is simple and inexpensive compared to other strategies. The advanced auxiliary voltage supply in this thesis is presented as a new solution. When the square auxiliary voltage supply applied, the improvement of THD is 6~60[%] in whole load range. But when the advanced auxiliary voltage supply applied, it shows stable and excellent reduction effect of THD as 57~71[%]. Especially, for the case with 10[%] load factor, reduction effect of THD has little effect as 6[%] in the case of inserting a square auxiliary voltage supply. But when the proposed new solution applied, reduction effect has excellent effect as 71[%]. Theoretical analysis of the combined 12-pulse diode rectifier with the advanced auxiliary voltage supply is presented and control methods of the auxiliary supply is proposed. The reduction in the input current harmonics is verified by simulation using software PSIM.

Control of Left Ventricular Assist Device Using Neural Network Feedforward Controller (인공신경망 Feedforward 제어기를 이용한 좌심실 보조장치의 제어실험)

  • In this paper, we present neural network for control of Left Ventricular Assist Device(LVAD) system with a pneumatically driven mock circulation system. Beat rate(BR), Systole-Diastole Rate(SDR) and flow rate are collected as the main variables of the LVAD system. System modeling is completed using the neural network with input variables(BR, SBR, their derivatives, actual flow) and output variable(actual flow). It is necessary to apply high perfomance control techniques, since the LVAD system represent nonlinear and time-varing characteristics. Fortunately. the neural network can be applied to control of a nonlinear dynamic system by learning capability In this study, we identify the LVAD system with neural network and control the LVAD system by PID controller and neural network feedforward controller. The ability and effectiveness of controlling the LVAD system using the proposed algorithm will be demonstrated by experiment.

차세대 청각소자의 융합기술 연구동향

  • 본 논문은 인간의 청각기능을 보조하거나 대체할 수 있는 차세대 청각보조장치 및 완전 이식형 인공와우에 관련한 기술동향에 대해서 기술한다. 청각보조장치는 MEMS 마이크로폰과 음장가시화 기술을 기반으로 하여 청각정보를 시각적으로 전달하고자 하는 장치이다. 이를 위해서는 초소형 MEMS 마이크로폰의 최적화 및 실시간 음장가시화 기술 개발이 선행되어야 한다. 차세대 생체모사 인공와우 기술은 기존 인공와우의 단점인 잦은 충전, 장애 노출 등을 극복하고 향상된 음감을 전달할 수 있는 완전 이식형 인공와우로서 그 기술동향을 논하고자 한다.

  • 철도 분야에서도 환경 보호 및 에너지 절감을 위한 경량화 연구가 활발히 진행 되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 철도차량의 보조전원장치 경량화에 대해 설명 한다. 기존의 철도차량의 보조전원 장치는 내부 필터 리액터, 변압기 등이 중량의 상당한 부분을 차지 하고 있고, 이는 시스템 중량 저감을 위한 고민에서 가장 큰 위치를 차지 한다. 본 논문에서는 공진형 컨버터를 사용하고 스위칭 주파수를 높여 필터 리액터, 변압기 등을 경량화 하였다. 150kW급 시제품에 대한 모의해석과 실험을 통해 입증 하였다.
