The significance of Boseong Tea Agriculture System lies in its harmonious coexistence with the surrounding environment, producing high quality teas and maintaining its biodiversity. Boseong Tea Agriculture System has been inscribed as Korea's Important Agricultural Heritage System (KIAHS) in 2018, but the Aging Society of tea farmers is threatening the conservation and succession of tea farming of the region. The study suggests designation of Boseong Tea Agriculture System as one of Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System (GIAHS), objecting conservation and succession of Boseong Tea Agriculture System. The study has reviewed GIAHS, KIAHS, Boseong Tea Agriculture System and surveyed tea farmers of Boseong for 3 months from March to May, 2020. The survey method includes face to face interview, phone interview (ones couldn't be reached for face to face interview) and in-depth interview of community leaders and experts, verifying the Aging Society status in Boseong tea agricultural industry. The survey result includes the following. Average age of Boseong tea farmers is 69.4 years old. Family tea-farming over two generation is 36% (54 household), and 79.4% (119 household) depends on 90% of income from tea production. The in-depth interview shows the aging tea farming society is most serious concern of tea farmers and GIAHS designation will support reliability and recognition of Boseong tea, helping conservation and succession of Boseong Tea Agriculture System. GIAHS designation will enhance and share the value of Boseong Tea Agriculture worldwide and be able to inherit the heritage for our future generation.

오는 4월 13일은 임시정부수립기념일이다. 이에 상하이의 인쇄사에서 잠시 근무했던 이봉창 의사와 독립선언서를 인쇄했던 보성사에 대해 알아본다. 이봉창 선생은 1932년 1월 8일 일본제국주의의 심장부인 도쿄에서 삼엄한 경호를 받으며 궁성으로 돌아가던 일왕에게 수류탄을 투척, 일본인의 간담을 서늘케 하고 전 세계 피압박 민족에게 큰 충격을 준 인물이다. 이 선생이 터뜨린 한발의 수류탄은 당시 침체일로에 있던 상해임시정부에 새로운 전기를 마련해 주었다. 정부는 지난 62년 선생의 장거를 기리어 건국훈장 대통령장을 추서했다. 보성사터 기념비는 지금의 조계사 좌측 수송소공원에 있는데, 천도교에서 경영하던 인쇄사로 보성학교 뒷마당에 자리 잡고 있었다. 1919년 당신 최남선이 경영하던 신문관과 함께 최대 인쇄사로 꼽혔다. 보성사는 1919년 6월 28일 일본의 방화로 추정되는 화재로 전소됐다.

한국오리협회의 숨은 주역들을 만나보는 시간, 한국오리협회 지회를 가다! 제1부의 주인공은 국내 오리산업의 주산지인 전라남도에서 회원 간의 결속력을 다지고 협회 발전에 이바지하고 있는 정정우전남도지회장이다. 정정우지회장은 전남 보성군에서 죽림농장을 운영하고 있다. 죽림농장은 보성군 오리농장 제1호다. 그가 오리사업을 시작할 때만 해도 보성군에는 오리농장이 없었다. 건너 마을 장흥에서 자문을 얻어 직접 니플을 설치해가며 지금의 죽림농장을 지었다. 이후 2006년 협회활동을 시작으로 2009년부터 지금까지 전남도지회를 이끌어왔다. 생산자의 입장과 지도자의 입장에 서 본 그는 가장 중요한 것은 '상생'이라고 말한다. 내년 2월 임기까지 유종의 미를 거두고 싶다는 정정우전남도지회장을 만나보았다.

This study analyzes the bibliographical characteristics of relics settled from the inside of Buddhist triad - Buddha, Bodhisattva, and Samantabhadra - which is located in the main building of Boseong Temple. This Buddhist triad was made in Gyonam Temple in Geo Chang, Gyongsang-do before 1647 and transferred to Boseong Temple. It is revealed that this Buddhist triad has 13 kinds, 73 volumes altogether including 37 volumes from Buddha and 18 volumes from Bodhisattva and Samantabhadra each. Of these books, three kinds are founded for the first time. Also, by analyzing the features of these sacred books, it is confirmed that most of the books, 6 kinds 65 volumes, are the Sutras. Especially, this study focuses on the fact that there are 5 kinds, 46 volumes in these Sutras which were published by Korea itself. Analysis shows that these publications were revised mostly in Jeolla-do and Gyeongsang-do before the Buddhist triad was made.

In this study, Camellia sinensis Leaf cultivated in Boseong was extracted by vacuum distillation and hydrothermal extraction methods, and we performed in vitro experiments such as antioxidant, anti-wrinkle, whitening, and antibacterial activity test and HPLC analysis. Wrinkle improvement (elastase inhibition assay) and whitening effect (mushroom tyrosinase inhibition assay) of Boseong vacuum distilled extract have excellent results and IC50 values of vacuum distillation extract was measured at a lower concentration than that of the hydrothermal extract. The antioxidant activity of the Boseong hydrothermal extract was excellently measured in DPPH radical and ABTS+ radical scavenging activity, SOD-like activity, and total polyphenol content. In the antibacterial experiment, the Boseong hydrothermal extract formed a clear zone for the Staphylococcus aureus and Cutibacterium acnes strain. As a result of HPLC analysis, EGCG and caffeine in the hydrothermal extract were 40.29 mg/g, 9.94 mg/g respectively, and caffeine in the vacuum distilled extract was 3.40 mg/g. Therefore, we examined that Boseong Camellia sinensis vacuum distilled extract has excellent anti-wrinkle and whitening effect, and its hydrothermal extract has good antioxidant and antibacterial efficacy.

"삼월하늘 가만히 우러러보며 유관순 누나를 생각합니다. 옥속에 갇혔어도 만세부르다 푸른하늘 그리며 숨이졌대요~" 강소천 선생이 지은 유관순 노래다. 삼월이면 어김없이 다가오는 삼일절인데, 삼일절은 인쇄인에게도 특별한 날이다. 1919년 3월 1일 만세운동은 보성사에서 '독립선언서'를 '인쇄'해 배포함으로써 전국적으로 확산할 수 있었기 때문이다. 2013년 94주년 삼일절을 맞아 독립운동에 앞장섰던 보성사와 인쇄인들에 대해 알아본다.
