  • The public mostly get the information regarding real estate policy not from the press release of the government but from news articles. This type of information, though, might be delivered in a different frame depending on inclination of media or press. The media runs the articles within its own frame, so that it often conveys either expectation or concern depending on its inclination. This study analyzed the articles regarding 'Agreement to revise three major real estate regulations to perk up property market' and examined how the real estate policy imprinted in them depending on the disposition of the press. The results showed that the conservative press ran articles within a positive frame expressing favorable expectation. On the other hand, progressive press mostly kept neutral or unfavorable tone on the same regulations within the negative frame. Therefore, it was confirmed that there exist different frames within articles depending on their disposition.

  • This frame analysis attempts to shed light on the process by which the Korean press constructs crisis as social reality through a series of risk reporting on food safety. Based on the FSSI(Food Safety Sentiment Index) developed by KIHASA(Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs), 11 cases of food safety reports from 1989 to 2005 were collected from the Korean Integrated News Database System(KINDS) and analyzed to yield the following salient features: risk diffusion frame; attribution of responsibility frame; conflict frame. It was observed that the press exhibited a tendency to approach the food safety incidents from a bi-polarized perspective, amplifying dichotomy between the victim and the perpetrator rather than treating them as scientific, or environmental hazards that require precise and synthesized information for resolution. This occupational habit of attributing status to agents of news was also found to contribute towards construction of crisis as social reality.

  • This study analyzed how KBS's 'Type and Format', 'Professionalism' and 'Infectious Disease-related Issues' appear in the media news related to Corona-19 under the three periods of 'discovery', 'diffusion' and 'recovery'. According to an analysis of a total of 473 media news, In all three periods, 'Straight Report' and 'Information Delivery Frame' were high to inform the truth of the infectious disease. In addition, the 'transmission of facts' frame was more used than the emotional transmission in reporting the risk situation. However, the proportion of 'moral evaluation frames' in the second phase was relatively high, and the proportion of non-professional journalists was still overwhelmingly higher than professional journalists. Meanwhile, infectious disease-related issues had the most content on 'infection control', and relatively little information on how to deal with them. Based on the above findings, this study suggested the implications of 'Increased in-depth and professional press coverage', 'Refrain from moral evaluation frames' and 'a comprehensive presentation of various infectious disease-related information'.
