  • The purpose of this study was to control root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita on pumpkin seedling with 10%, 20% coffee ground compost and 1% plant velvet bean powder (plain skin bean, leopard skin bean, hole plant, bean pod). Among the root-knot nematode insecticide treatments, the velvet bean plant powder was the highest mortality rate with 83.2% in greenhouse condition. In addition, the root-knot nematode second juvenile mortality significantly increased with the lapse of processing time for each concentration of leopard skin velvet bean extract in vivo. After 24 hours, the mortality rate of root-knot nematode showed the highest at 1.2% and 2.4% of leopard skin velvet bean extract. The growth promoting effect of seedlings pumpkin, 20% of coffee ground compost treatments inhibited the growth of pumpkin seedlings and 1% the tiger pattern velvet beans powder was the most to promote the growth of pumpkin seedlings. However, the results indicated that the organic materials of velvet beans and coffee ground compost are expected to be able to effectively control the root-knot nematode and further studies will be needed for the concentration and application methods.

  • In this study, we tried to verify the value of the use of Mucuna pruriens (M. pruriens) extract as an antioxidant functional cosmetic material based on natural materials. After extracting, concentrating, and freeze-drying M. pruriens with water, 70% ethanol, and 70% acetone as solvents, samples of powdered hydrothermal extract (MW), 70% ethanol extract (ME), and 70% acetone extract (MA) were prepared. As a result of analyzing antioxidant activity through DPPH radical scavenging activity, ABTS+ radical scavenging activity, SOD-like activity, reduction ability, total phenol and flavonoid content analysis using MW, ME, and MA, all showed excellent antioxidant effects. Therefore, it is believed that M. pruriens extract is highly likely to be used as a natural material for antioxidant-related functional cosmetics.

  • In this study, the correlation between recycled plastic pellets and the antioxidant efficacy of the extract of Mucuna pruriens (M. pruriens) was verified. After immersing recycled plastic pellets in M. pruriens extracts, they were stored for 30 days under various temperature conditions, and then analyzed for DPPH radical and ABTS+ radical erasing ability, SOD-like activity, total phenol and flavonoid content. Compared to the existing efficacy, DPPH radical elimination showed less than 30% activity change in ECOTRIA and PCR-PP pellets, and the largest decrease in activity of 46.06% was confirmed in Grico pellets. As a result of measuring ABTS+ radical erasure ability, less than 5% of efficacy change was confirmed in all pellets. As a result of measuring SOD-like activity, all showed a decrease in activity of more than 30%, and as a result of measuring the total phenol and flavonoid content, all pellets showed a tendency to decrease compared to the existing content. Through this results, it was confirmed that the physiological activity of M. pruriens extract decreased and changed by recycled plastic pellets, and based on the results of this study, recycled plastic pellets are believed to affect the existing efficacy and activity stability of M. pruriens extract.

  • Velvet fabric has soft touch, subtle luster, and good draping property. Threedimensional simulated models of cylindrical monofilaments constituting the velvet fabric were prepared. Image analysis techniques were used to measure the reflected light from the surface of velvet fabrics and the simulated images of the pile fibers. As the angle of incidence increased, the reflectance from the velvet surface became lower. Most of the reflection came from the tips of the cut piles. Crushed velvet type also was modeled using slant cylinder models on top of a base plate.

  • The mineral compositions were analysed of the tip and the upper section of dried domestic antlers. The upper section was divided longitudinally into four parts. The tip and the upper section were divided traversely into the velvet and the spongy bone layers. The contents of ash, calcium, phosphorus and magnesium increased (p<0.05), and those of manganese, zinc, copper and iron decreased (p<0.05) downward from the tip both in the velvet and the spongy bone layers. The contents of ash, calcium, phosphorus, manganese and zinc of the spongy bone layer were significantly (p<0.05) higher than those of the velvet layer. The tip, which is the growth center of the antler, had the significantly (p<0.05) lowest proportions of Ca/ash, Ca/P and Ca/Fe ratios both in the velvet and spongy bone layers.

  • This study is on the fashion design of velve, concentrating on the kinds and the images of it. The velvet, the pile fabrics, includes velveteen, velour(s), corduroy and plush. Ancient Chinese invented it first but Westerners used it widely in fashion since 14C because of the deep colors and the glimmering lights. In 20C the developments of textile industry, the mass production and the dyeing techniques made it popularized as velvet fashion. The velvet must be handled carefully and stretch velvet in vogue today needs the different pattern design and the dressmaking from general fabrics. 'For example, 55 size (bust girth 33", waist girth 26", hip girth 36") Jacket for ladies of stretch velvet, 3/4"ease in the bust line is eliminated at the back on the block pattern after normal pattern design. The costume of velvet has the images of elegance, nostalgia, and oriental ism. It has established the high quality, rich and refined elegance of Haute Couture. It could express the image of nostalgia, the longing for the past with the remarkable splendor. The orientalism of velvet costumes has represented the westerner's aspiration and imagination about the Orient with the intense color and over-decoration.

  • This study was performed for purpose of getting fundamental information requisite to wear velvet clothes that is more comfortable for the human body and also the environment. It was carried out in a human wearing test and thermal manikin test at the same time in a controlled-condition chamber. The experimental environment had a ambient temperature of 15$\pm$0.5$^{\circ}C$ with the relative humidity at 5$^{\circ}C$$\pm$5% and with air velocity at less that than 0.2m/sec. Velvet differ from common plain weaves in thermal properties because it's constructed in two parts one is ground part and the other part is pile part. In order to investigate the thermal resistance of velvet eight different combination of 4 velvet kinds and 2 lings kinds as experimental clothes. [(4 velvet kinds : Acetate cuprammoium Rayon Cotton Wool) (2 lining kinds : acetate viscose rayon)longrightarrow8 combination: Aa, Av, Ra, Rv, Ca, Cv, Wa, Wv: the simplified character] The results of this study can be summarized as follows : 1. For the regional thermal resistance the differences in eight clothes as well as differences in each part were significant. As a whole the breast part showed the highest thermal resistance and the leg part was higher than the shank part. The rank of the total thermal resistance was put at Wa>Wv>Ca>Cv>Aa>Av>Ra>Rv in this order. 2. Considered clothing microclimate microclimate temperature has a similar tendency to the total thermal resistance. It showed a significance in the differences of eight clothes and each parts. the belly part was highest in every combination. On the other hand for clothing humidity there was a significance between back and breast part only in the human wearing test. 3. It was indicated that CLO value was highly positively correlated with the clothings' weight and showed a high negative correlation with the air permeability.
