Strategic planning is an essential function of senior management in any business firm. Planning involves the firm's behavior in an competitive market and adaptation of the company's resources towards the selected market strategy. This study presents a methodological procedure for strategic planning in global top-tier construction firms. This procedure consists of the following stages. First, analyzed growth of revenue in which weight of total construction firms' revenue shown in Global Top 225 Contractors(ENR). Second, analyzed specialty of construction products. The products are General Building, Power, Water Supply, Industrial/Petroleum Process, and Transportation. Third, analyzed business the portfolio plan. The business portfolio plan includes both local/overseas market and specification/diversification of construction products. It affects the subsequent choice of a benchmarking for development of each construction company. The choice of the benchmarking firm, among several available alternatives, should follow a careful analysis of the characteristics and benefits inherent in the implementation of each.

여러 대의 컴퓨팅 시스템을 네트워크로 연결한 클러스터 시스템의 경우, 뛰어난 가격대비 성능 특성 때문에 많은 공학분야의 연구에 널리 활용 되고 있다. 최근에는 뛰어난 확장성과 안정성을 요구하는 기업체 업무에도 널리 활용 되고 있다. 이러한 클러스터 시스템의 성능은 네트워크 시스템의 성능에 크게 좌우되므로 고성능 네트워크 시스템에 대한 연구는 지속적으로 수행되고 있다. 하지만 새로운 네트워크 시스템의 성능이 실제 응용 소프트웨어들의 성능에 어떠한 영향을 주는지 파악하기란 쉽지가 않다. 따라서 여러 개의 응용 소프트웨어 및 계산 소프트웨어에 대한 서비스를 제공해야 하는 기업업무 환경하에서 클러스터 시스템 기반의 새로운 고성능 네트워크 시스템 선택 시 벤치마크는 필수적이다. 본 연구에서는 최근에 출시된 고성능 네트워크 시스템 (Infiniband, Myrinet)들에 대해서 효율적인 노드들간 데이터 통신의 성능을 벤치마크 툴을 통하여 그 결과를 비교 분석하고자 한다.

글로벌 무한경쟁시대에는 얼마나 인재를 확보하고 유지, 양성하느냐가 한 기업 경쟁력의 척도이다. 이제‘사람이 기업의 경쟁력이자 영원한 성장엔진’이라는 말은 식상할 정도이다. 하지만 인재를 비롯한 인력의 중요성에 대한 제언은 아무리 강조한다고 해도 지나치지 않는다. 특히 끊임없는 혁신과 위험관리를 통해 성장하는 벤처기업의 경우는 두말할 나위가 없다. 더욱이 벤처 재도약의 토대인 건전한 벤처 생태계 조성을 위해서는 벤처산업계 전반의 인력 확보와 양성이 무엇보다 중요한 필수요소이다. 이에 논픽션과 픽션을 오가며 벤처기업이 벤치마킹할 만한 다양한 인력양성의 사례를 살펴본다.

This paper analyzes the efficiency of Korean Financial Investment Institution using DEA model. We evaluate the CCR, BCC efficiency and RTS of 30 Financial Investment Institution. We also suggest the Financial Investment Institution which can be benchmarked based on analyzed information. The result shows that 3 Institution whose values of CCR efficiency are 1, and 7 Institution whose values of BCC efficiency are 1. RTS indicates IRS of 21 Investments, DRS of 6 Investments and CRS of 3 Investments.

본 연구는 각 프로세스가 조직에 미치는 상대적 영향을 고려한 조직 전체의 효율성을 평가하고, 조직의 효율성을 개선하기 위하여 조직을 구성하는 여러 프로세스 중에서 어떤 프로세스를 우선적으로 개선해야 하는지를 결정하며, 더 나아가 비효율적인 프로세스를 개선하기 위하여 어떤 프로세스를 벤치마킹해야 하는지를 결정할 수 있는 체계적인 방법을 제공한다. 이를 위하여 본 연구는 다음과 같은 중요한 세 가지 과정을 따른다. 첫째, DEA(data envelopment analysis)의 CCR 모형을 이용하여 프로세스의 투입요소와 산출 요소를 바탕으로 개별 프로세스의 효율성을 평가한다. 둘째, 도출된 개별프로세스의 효율성을 Lovell과 Pastor의 순수 산출요소(또는 투입요소) DEA 모형의 산출요소로 이용하여 서비스 단위 조직 전체의 효율성을 평가한다. 셋째, 앞서 도출된 개별프로세스의 효율성과 서비스 단위 조직의 전체 효율성을 각각 DT(decision tree)의 예측변수와 목표변수로 활용하여 각 서비스 단위 조직의 특성 및 상황에 따라 개선해야 할 프로세스를 선택하는 규칙을 생성한다. 제안한 방법을 통하여 기업은 비효율적 조직과 프로세스를 발견하고 조직의 효율성을 개선하기 위하여 어떤 프로세스를 우선적으로 개선해야 하는지를 결정할 수 있다. 이를 통하여 기업은 오늘날 기업 경쟁력의 핵심인 프로세스를 좀 더 효과적으로 평가 및 관리할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

The high-technological in the electric and electronic industries is recognized in overseas markets as well. However, the competition for technologies in these industries is increasing. Therefore, electric and electronic firms should be more efficient in their production. so, This paper analyzes the efficiency of High-growth Electrical and Electronics firms using DEA model. We evaluate the CCR, BBC efficiency and RTS(return to scale) of 20 Korean high-growth Electrical and Electronics firms. There are a total of 12 efficient DMUs with a BCC of 1. There are a total of 4 efficient DMUs with a CCR of 1. A total of 11 DMUs were IRS in Scale Efficiency and a total of 6 DMUs were CRS in Scale Efficiency and a total of 3 DMUs were DRS in Scale Efficiency. We also suggest the Electrical and Electronics firms which can be benchmarked based on analyzed information.

Benchmarking is a process used in a lot of companies and public institutions because it is considered to be a practical tool for management innovation. However, it is hard to find out the development of systematic methods and applied cases for benchmarking on information services environment. This study tried to apply the benchmarking process to information distribution environment. This study examined the basic definition and standard process of benchmarking, and then conducted benchmarking plan to innovate tasks of database construction for information services at KISTI.

중소기업청은 전자정부 G4B 사업의 일환으로 SPi-1357 시스템을 구축해 운영하고 있다. SPi-1357은 중소기업자들에게 맞춤형 정책 정보를 제공하기 위해서 온라인과 오프라인을 통해 서비스를 하고 있다. 그러나, 여전히 수요자인 중소기업의 기대수준을 충족시키기에는 한계가 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 SPi-1357에 대한 현황과 선진사례 벤치마킹을 통해 SPi-1357의 향후 개선방향에 대해 논한다.

Although the display industry plays an important role in the entire Korean economy, few empirical research has analyzed the efficiency of display companies. The purpose of this paper is to measure and analyze efficiency of korean listed display firms using DEA(Data Envelopment Analysis) models. We evaluate the CCR and BCC efficiency in DEA models and the return to scale of the Korean listed display companies. The benchmarking companies and efficiency value for the display companies with inefficiency are also provided to improve their efficiency. We analyzed the 44 listed companies consisted of 7 listed on KOSPI and 37 listed on KOSDAQ at the end of 2010. The analysis results show six companies whose values of CCR are 1, and fourteen firms whose values of BCC efficiency are 1. In additions, the six companies have the scalability efficiency. Eventually the efficiency analysis can provide the valuable information for inefficient companies to find benchmarking companies and to improve their efficiency.
