  • Blockchain is considered as an innovative technology along with Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, and Internet of Things. However, since the inception of the genesis of blockchain technology, the cryptocurrency Bitcoin, the technology is not utilized widely, not let alone disruptive applications. Most of the blockchain research deals with the cryptocurrency, general descriptions of the technology such as trend, outlook of the technology, explanation of component technology, and so on. There are no killer applications like Facebook or Google, of course. Reflecting on the slow adoption by businesses, we wanted know about the current status of the research on blockchain in Korea. The main purpose of this paper is to help business practitioners to identify the application of blockchain to enhance the competitiveness of their organization. To do that, we first use the framework by Iansiti et al (2017) and categorize the blockchain related articles published in Korea according to the framework. This is to provide a benchmark or cases of other organizations' adoption of blockchain technology. Second, based on the value proposition of blockchain applications, we suggest evolutionary paths for adopting them. Third, from the demand pull perspective of technology adoption for innovation, we propose applicable areas where blockchain applications can be introduced. Fourth, we use the value chain model to find out the appropriate domains of blockchain applications in the corporate value chains. And the five competitive forces models is adopted to find ways of lowering the power of forces by incorporating blockchain technology.

  • In this paper, we will introduce IPP (Industry Professional Practice) model which is a unique Korean long-term co-op (co-operative) education model developed and will be implemented by Korea Tech. IPP model is designed to make up for the weak points of the existing short-term job training system and to fit Korean educational environment by benchmarking North America co-op model that has 100 years of history, and it will be supported by the Korean government (Ministry of Employment and Labor) unlike other existing co-op systems in Korea. In order to be a successful IPP program, it is required of companies' active participation to this program with open mind, and university's investment on IPP infrastructure such as concrete academic system design and IPP center, etc.

  • This paper analyses recent regional development policies being carried out in Japan and the U.S. Such policies are formed on the sustainability principle aiming at the realization of circula-flow economy and zero waste society. The study here illuminates Japan's Eco-town project and three cases of eco-industrial developments in Minnesota. Such projects have gone from improving industry competitiveness through constructing clean production systems on the company level to improving national competitiveness through constructing a 'circular society' on the government level. Japan included the realization of a 'circular society' as its government's top agenda because it recognized that environmental pollution stems from the inefficient use of natural resources. Eco-town project is a regional development policy specifically reflecting such recognition. The eco-efficiency based city development approaches in Minnesota are but small examples of the new wave in regional development in the developed countries. We need to go beyond emphasizing eco-friendly and ethical management to just the companies. The government itself needs to design national policies based on environmental sustainability.

  • This paper is aimed to introduce the practical case about the operation system consisted of academic curriculum and portal system for the IPP implementation. After benchmarking the preceding universities system, the academic program is renewed for our student's participation without difficulty with semi-quater semester system. The portal system is designed to focus on the studentindustry matching and the adaptation to disparate databases of the university. The IPP operation system have been constructed to fulfill the 1st-year-plan as a participating university in 4th period support of Korean government. The first year project performance with constructed system indicated that in many categories of the survey conducted by the IPP management institution, the satisfaction level in that system exceeded the average value of the IPP participating universities nationwide. The improvement direction was set after analyzing the results of the survey.

After developed using DEA(Date Envelopment Analysis) the relative efficiency analysis tool for competitor analysis to apply in consulting on-site or within the organization, this study compared the new techniques and the existing techniques. This study was carried out as follows. First, through a review of the literature, consulting competitive analysis techniques and methodologies relative efficiency analysis technique DEA for research scholars examined. Second, DEA-based competitive analysis, multidimensional efficiency analysis is presented. Third, The case study was conducted to determine the suitability and practicality of this analysis method for public company "A".

This paper analyzes the efficiency of Korean Newapaper using DEA model. We evaluate the CCR-O, BCC-O efficiency, SE and RTS of 30 Newspaper. We also suggest the Newpaper which can be benchmarked based on analyzed information. The result shows that ten Nespaper whose values of CCR-O efficiency are 1, and Fourteen Nespaper whose values of BCC efficiency are 1. RTS indicates IRS of 1 firms, DRS of 16 firms and CRS of 13 firms. To variables on the effectiveness of newspaper publishing companies for the understanding and performance analysis.

  • Although the Free Trade Zone(FTZ) are actually competing with various strategies, the definition and structural understanding of activation strategies are not known very much Therefore this study has launched from this fact, and has the objective of obtaining the structural model for activation strategies in Gunsan FTZ, and understanding the components of activation in these region The process began by abstracting the components that composed the success factors in FTZ through recent research, and grouping it by the most core components. Also, by using the FSM(Fuzzy Structural Modeling) method to understand the structure of the grouped components, and the structural model for activation of FTZ was able to obtain as the result. When analyzing the obtained structural model, expansion of tax reduction, flexibility of law systems and good business environment came out to be the most important component groups, and especially flexibility of law systems and good business environment were the most effective component that effected all the other components overall.

  • This research aimed to design and develop a mobile-website mixed business model and smartphone based mobile application for the purpose of mobile fashion content distribution. We have implemented a mobile interface and trading system supporting self production of content, use, share, and user's self-up. And we proposed its market access strategy for the expansion of fashion contents transactions. To do this, the existing status of research and benchmarking for mobile app of fashion contents related were studied. As a result of the study, Android, iOS-based mobile applications were developed, but there are some business problems such as low awareness, low entry barriers, and the poor fashion content compared to the size of industry. Because this system provide the fashion contents of affiliated companies to users, it needs to expand cooperation and to promote the partnership with fashion blog, cafes, and fashion magazines.

  • To compete global marketplace, many firms are adopting product families to increase variety, satisfy customer requirements, shorten lead-times and reduce costs. The key to a successful product family is the platform from which it is derived. When designing product families, it is important to resolve the tradeoff between product commonality and distinctiveness. To measure the commonality within a product family, it is necessary to develop the commonality index. It utilizes different parameters such as the number of common components, their cost, their manufacturing processes and so on. This paper present a new product family assessment index using the benchmarking method and considering environmental performance called green product family index(GPFI). Through the comparison analysis between some previous developed commonality indices and GPFI, we verify the suitability and effectiveness. Eventually, the proposed a new green product family assessment index can be helpful to design and develop the environmentally conscious product families.
