A study on the Development of Transducer Detecting Infrasonic (초저주파를 검출하는 변환기의 개발에 대한 연구)

  • Infrasonic transducer made with dielectric materials, such as polytetrafluoroethyleme(PTFE)film. The experimental result obtained that the response is within $\pm$1.5dB from 0.1Hz to 7KHz, and that sensitivities of typical transducer are fixed -60dB. The time constant of the transducer at room temperature is over 60 years, and the activation energy of the value of 1.1eV at 343K acquired. This transducer can have application to high-quality communication system, seismological observation etc.

On-line Detection of Cracks in Eggshell (계란 크랙의 온라인 검출)

  • This study was conducted to develop an automatic egg inspection system for detecting creaked eggs based on acoustic impulse response. This system includes a sound generator, a sound sensor with signal conditioner, and a computer. The sound generator that hit the sharp of the dull edges of an egg was constructed with a ceramic ball pendulum attached to a rotary type solenoid. The signal conditioner included a pre-amplifier and a digital signal processing (DSP) board. The parameters for distinguishing cracked and normal eggs were the area, the geometric centroid and the resonance frequency of power spectrum of the acoustic signal generated. An algorithm for on-line detection of the continuous transferring eggs was developed. The performance tests resulted with 91% success rate to separate cracked and normal eggs at the rate of 1 second per an egg.

Acoustic Impulse Method with Neural Network for Detection of Cracks in Eggshell (음향충격법과 인공신경망에 의한 파란 검출)

  • In order to develop an inspection algorithm for an automatic eggshell inspection system, acoustic impulse response with neural network method was studied. An improved error backpropagation algorithm was selected as a loaming rule of neural network, and three layer network was chosen for the neural network architecture. Acoustic signals in time domain and theirs power spectrum were studied as the input to the neural network. The classification feasibility and success rate were investigated in terms of statistical analysis and neural network approach. As a result, the success rate was 95% with the statistical model having five independent variables. Among the neural network models studied, the power spectrum of acoustic signal as the input with 64 input neurons and the two impact data showed the success rate of 95.5% which was slightly higher than of statistical analysis.

  • Lithium cobalt oxide thin film cathode, having thickness of $2.9{\mu}m$ with area of $4cm^2$, was deposited on platinum patterned alumina substrate by radio frequency magnetron sputtering. Li/Co molar ratio, which is an important factor for battery performance, was measured as a function of argon working pressure and applied R.F. power. Constant current charge and discharge performances were characterized with high rate discharge and cycling behavior. Using AC impedance analysis, internal resistance of the thin film battery was measured and simulated by proposed equivalent circuit model.

  • We investigated the electrochemical properties and microstructure on the various argon deposition pressure $(P_{Ar})$ and the low annealing temperature $(400^{\circ}C)$ of $LiCoO_2$ cathodes, which deposited by R.F. magnetron sputtering. The microsuucture and composition of Lico02 thin film was changed as a function of $P_{Ar}$. The capacity and electrochemical properties were improved with Ph of $LiCoO_2$ thin films. The cycling reversibility and stability of thin film batteries were measured by cyclic voltammetry and the constant current charge-discharge. The physical properties of cathode films were analyzed by ICP-AES, XRD, SEM and AFM for composition, crystallization and surface morphology.

Preparation of Poloxamer-based Hydrogels Using Electron Beam and Their Evaluation for Buccal Mucoadhesive Drug Delivery (전자빔을 이용한 폴록사머 하이드로젤의 제조 및 구강 점막부착성 약물전달을 위한 특성 분석)

  • In this study, poloxamer hydrogels were prepared by electron beam irradiation and evaluated for potential application as a buccal mucoadhesive drug delivery system. Poloxamer, one of typical thermoresponsive polymers, was modified to have vinyl end groups for crosslinking reaction, and its hydrogels were fabricated by irradiation crosslinking reaction. Carbopol as a mucoadhesive polymeric additive was introduced to improve the mucoadhesive property of the hydrogels and its effect on the mucoadhesion and drug release properties was investigated. The results showed that the end group modification of poloxamer and the addition of carbopol improved mucoadhesive force and mechanical properties and led to a sustained drug release behavior.
