Consumer health information is receiving more attention than ever before. This growing attention can be linked to the Internet and to people seeking more information on health topics. The purpose of this study is to suggest a design of the Knowledge management system for medical information services in a public library. As theoretical backgrounds, it discusses the issues regarding to the medical information services in a public library, knowledge management and knowledge management system. After that, 12 medical information sites are analyzed then the planning and the main menu of a medical information site for a public library are described. Finally, the model of the knowledge management system for a public library with 5 sub-systems are suggested: 1) knowledge creation system, 2) technology support system, 3) training system, 4) community service system, 5) knowledge sharing and network system. This system based on knowledge management will help provide the users high quality of medical information.

As the growth of database volume, it has required a need and an opportunity of data analysis and extracting knowledge from database. Data mining method is the representative example. The size of most minable data set is huge, and stored in a database. To implement effective mining function, we must extract minable data set to be analyzed from existing relational database, and it must be managed with its generalized information. In this paper, the new mining operator is defined in a similar manner to the existing SQL operators and SQL is extended to extract data subset from relations and to generalize it using domain-oriented method. The background knowledge includes attribute values, which will be mind and generalized information, and it is managed as the same structure with a relation in relational database. These functions are implemented by defining some SQL - like operators and aggregated functions, and we describe the expressive powers of these new operators and functions through examples.

This paper is to consider the developmental process of Korean geography on the context of socio-spatial transformations of Korea, and then to suggest briefly its alternative visions. The development of knowledge including geography seems to be made under imperatives of social functions and structure in a given period, and knowledge in turn gives power for a further development of society. Modem geography in Korea has progressed on the context of capitalist development of Korean society which can be divided into two phases, that is, the period of developmentalism and that of neoliberalism. Korean geography has been developed under influence of ideologies of developmentalism and neoliberalism, and in turn has made some contributions to socio-spatial policies. Korean geography in the future, it can be suggested, should go beyond both developmentalism and neoliberalism, and put socio-spatial welfare, civil society or community, and environmental justice into its central issues.

This study is to explore the applicability of PBL classes in undergraduate education at a School of Dentistry. To do this study, PBL modules were developed and applied to the students with different background knowledge to easily learn Integrated Medicine and Lifescience classes. Participants were 12 students in the first year of Integrated MS program at P University. Four tutors who majored in Dentistry and had PBL teaching experience participated. As a result of the PBL classes, students' concepts and knowledge about gene expression and expression were expanded, and they recognized the importance of self-directed learners and experienced the importance of collaborative learning. PBL tutor presented a positive assessment of attending PBL class experience and the educational need for PBL instruction. The results of this study show the possibility of PBL as a model for Integrated Medicine and Lifescience class in Dentistry education.

The purpose of this study was to explore how an elementary school teacher developed PCK by utilizing her knowledge domains in teaching practice, regarding the specific science topic of 'animals:' A case study approach was adopted with the participation of a 1st grade teacher, in a poor urban neighborhood elementary school in NYC. Data was collected through interview and the participant observation method in order to investigate: a) the teacher's existing knowledge base in terms of subject matter knowledge, pedagogical knowledge and contextual knowledge; b) how she develops PCK during classroom practice, centering on the relationship between knowledge domains. The findings illustrate the ways in which the three knowledge domains are closely related and developed as PCK through the whole teaching process. In particular, the findings indicate that the teacher's contextual knowledge plays a critical role in shaping and developing PCK. Before instruction, her contextual knowledge regarding the administrative policies and the school test system in the district enabled her to make decisions and plans about teaching science. During classroom teaching, her knowledge of students' sociocultural backgrounds and living conditions in the urban setting helped her to identify specific teaching strategies and resources suitable to the students' needs and interests. The study results imply that science instruction can be more feasible in meeting the demands of particular groups of students if teachers make an effort to become knowledgeable about their own teaching context and utilize it in developing their PCK.

As cultural background contributes members of society to recognize and behave in a specific direction, customers with different cultural backgrounds show various reactions even when they are provided with the same service. Previous studies have used the Hofstede cultural dimension to understand how hotel visitors' satisfaction varies with the provided service as per their cultural background. However existing research only considered the cultural background of the guests, and there are not many studies focused on the types of travel. Therefore, in this study, the travel types of hotel visitors are classified into business travel visitors and leisure tourism visitors, and analyzed the effect of Hofstede's cultural dimension on hotel selection attributes according to the styles of travel. In this study, we collected information on six cultural dimensions of Hofstede, and from TripAdvisor, a representative tourism platform, 204,261 optional attribute ratings for hotels in New York to investigate the satisfaction of hotel selection attributes. In conclusion, it is expected that this study will be able to identify which service attributes the customers of various cultures who visit hotels put emphasis in advance, and therefore provide suitable service accordingly.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the awareness of early childhood teachers for the development of early childhood education programs using background music. The subjects of this study were 272 early childhood teachers of kindergartens in Busan and Kyungnam provinces. The data were collected through questionnaires on the awareness of children's appreciation of fairy tales using background music. The collected data were analyzed by frequency and percentage using SPSS 18.0 program. The results of this study are as follows: First, the number of early childhood teachers who had experience of performing fairy tales using background music were less than half of them. Secondly, the purpose of appreciation of fairy tales using background music was to develop rich emotions. In order to understand the systematic knowledge and concept of background music, it was necessary to supply background music in various life styles. Third, development of a fairy tale appreciation program using background music was generally required. Fourth, a fairy tale appreciation program using background music is appropriate for the large group activity time of 10~20 minutes one or two times a week and it was necessary to have a concatenated structure of pre-activities, introduction methods, questioning techniques in development, finishing methods, evaluation methods, and extension activity methods.

Recently in Korea, the need has increased for the systematization of the qualifications of subject specialist librarians who have both knowledge and work experience on specific subject. The purpose of this study is to analyze the domestic situation of subject special library services as well as the education backgrounds or work experience of current subject librarians in Korea. At the end, the study attempts to suggest an appropriate framework for the qualification system establishment and operation in Korea based on the supply and demand analysis of domestic subject specialist librarians.
