Face Skin Tone Conversion Method Robust to Illumination Changes (조명 변화에 강인한 피부 톤 변환 기법)

  • 최근 들어 드라마나 영화 속 인물 들의 얼굴을 다른 얼굴로 교체하고자 하는 시도들이 주목을 받고 있고, 사용자들의 관심 또한 증가하고 있다. 이러한 연구는 오래 전부터 많이 연구되어 왔으나, 조명 변화에 강인한 피부 톤 변환 문제는 여전히 주요 이슈로 자리하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 히스토그램 명세화 기법을 응용하여 피부 톤을 자연스럽게 변환 시켜줄 수 있는 기법을 제안한다. 두 얼굴 영상의 R, G, B 채널에 대한 히스토그램을 각각 생성하고 이들을 누적분포함수로 각각 변환한다. 변환된 누적분포함수들을 이용하여 두 얼굴 영상의 히스토그램을 근사 시킬 수 있는 변환 표를 생성하고 이를 이용하여 얼굴 영상의 피부 톤을 변환시킨다. 조명 변화로 인해 발생하는 전반사 영역은 선형 보간 법을 사용하여 제거한다. 실험 결과, 제안하는 방법이 조명 변화에 적응적으로 대처하면서 자연스럽게 피부 톤을 변환 시켜줄 수 있음을 확인하였다.

  • 지난 2003년 9월부터 이듬해 3월까지 MBC-TV에서 방영되며 국민드라마로 자리 잡았던 <대장금>이 애니메이션으로 새롭게 태어났다. 지난해 10월 29일 첫 방송을 시작으로 현재 매주 토요일에 방영되고 있는 대장금의 애니메이션 버전 <장금이의 꿈>은 장금이가 궁녀가 되기 전부터 정식 궁녀가 되기까지의 과정을 그린 작품으로 꿈을 이루기 위한 장금이의 동분서주한 수라간 이야기를 다루고 있다. 특히 조연급 캐릭터들의 액션씬을 가미해 영상에 활력을 주고, 의상과 배경 등은 가능한 현대적 조화를 꾀해 볼거리가 풍성하다. 동양의 신비함과 보편적 사상을 최대한 부각시킨 이 작품은 해외 판매와 부대사업에 주력하고 있다. 최근 들어 NHK 자회사인 MICO(Media International Corporation)와 수출계약을 체결하고, 오는 4월 NHK 지상파를 통해 방송키로 합의하는 등 이미 그 결실을 맺고 있다. 캐릭터 완구사업, 출판 및 DVD사업, 캐릭터 상품화 사업, 모바일 게임사업, 케이블 및 위성 DMB사업 등 부가사업도 활발하게 전개하고 있어 진정한 ‘윈소스 멀티유즈’를 실현하고 있다.

  • 오늘날 인터넷이 보편화되었고, 최근에는 최근에는 코로나19 유행으로 사람들이 집에 머무르는 시간이 많아지면서 여러 온라인 플랫폼을 통해 영화, 드라마 등의 프로그램을 시청하는 것에 관심이 많아지고 있다. 또한, 그러한 시대적 흐름에 따라 시즌제 형식의 시리즈물을 통해 보다 퀄리티 높은 콘텐츠를 보고자 하는 소비자 니즈도 증가하고 있다. 시리즈물은 전편과 속편이 유기적으로 연결되기 때문에 전편의 리뷰를 분석하여 관객의 니즈를 파악하고 그것을 속편에 반영하는 것이 중요해 보인다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 텍스트 분류를 통해 시리즈물의 전편과 속편 리뷰의 긍정 유사도를 비교하고, 나아가 긍정 유사도가 흥행 성적에 유의미한 영향을 미치는지 알아보고자 한다.

Relationship Between Terrestrial Broadcasting Services Viewing and OTT VOD Usage (지상파 방송 실시간 시청과 OTT VOD 이용 간의 관계)

  • The purpose of this study is to search the correlation between real-time viewing and OTT VOD usage. The study is based on the ratings and VOD download data, collected from TNmS and pooq. And this study focused on the ratings, 2049 ratings, OTT VOD download over the past 7 days, OTT VOD download over the past 30 days. The results showed that there were positive correlation in all genres(drama, entertainment, current affairs). First, there was a correlation between ratings and OTT VOD download over the past 7 days, between 2049 ratings and OTT VOD download over the past 7 days. Next, there was a correlation between ratings and OTT VOD download over the past 30 days, between 2049 ratings and OTT VOD download over the past 30 days. Finally, there was somewhat different among rankings of the ratings and VOD download.

  • The research is centered towards analyzing the differentiation of the characteristics and organization of programming strategy and channel positioning by selecting Korean International Public Relations Broadcasting Stations Arirang TV and KBS World. According to the results, Arirang TV positions Korean culture content-implied educational programs as their strategy while KBS World places the main programs of KBS1, 2TV with many entertainment programs such as dramas and entertainment shows. Arirang TV's programming strategy is well-fulfilling the purpose of promoting Korea's culture contents by organizing their programming with documentaries, tourist information, and daily living information. On the other hand, KBS World works as the agent of the spread of the Korean Wave by filling their program with dramas and K-pop programs such as . Due to the difference in programming strategy of these two broadcasting stations, Arirang TV has positioned itself as a diplomatic channel to spread Korean culture and KBS World a channel representing the Korean Wave. However, there are problems of inefficiency due to recurrent investments because of the fact that both broadcasting stations' programming strategy is to promote Korean culture and spread the Korean Wave by aiming similar targets such as foreigners or overseas Koreans.

  • Recently, the number of 'single-person household' is increasing rapidly. It brings about changes in the societal cultural aspect. Examples of television programs focused on their lifestyle provoked the societal attention as a important social agenda. This research investigated to figure out inherent ideologies in of tvN through Semiotic and Discourse analyses. As a result, predominant ideologies were revealed on the basis of representations of such single-person households. The authors also tried to find out how the media represent attitudes of single-person households and figure out how the media approach their ways of lives on bases of specific discourses and ideologies.

  • Director Yoon Jong-bin's new series <The Accidental Narco, Narco-Saints> was streamed through Netflix in 2022 and ranked first in the series rankings. <The Accidental Narco, Narco-Saints> continues the genealogy of male narratives in Korean society that director Yoon Jong-bin has pursued for a long time. In <The Accidental Narco, Narco-Saints>, the main characters choose the path of the diaspora to escape Korean society and seek survival in a foreign country. The two male protagonists of <The Accidental Narco, Narco-Saints> are set up in a hostile relationship, but they have one thing in common: they basically pursue money to "survive". They chose the diaspora to avoid the tyranny of public power in Korean society in the 1980s and 1990s, but Republic of Suriname was the worst place where private violence and public power were completely callused. In there, one becomes a drug lord and the other chooses to act for his duty to Korea. These two different choices can be said to be examples of the light and shade of the diaspora. In <The Accidental Narco, Narco-Saints>, director Yoon Jong-bin inherited the themes of 'family' and 'violence' from previous works, while expanding the geographical area of Korean male narratives he had been exploring.

  • The birth of a new mobile medium of communication In 2005, the DMB (Digital Multimedia Broadcasting), was celebrated for the mobile and asynchronous personal medium. But now, the most film- & video-channels of this epoch-making medium of communication combine with the rebroadcasting of long play film for cinema oder TV series. The purpose of this study is thus to point out the disharmony between new mobile medium and the old, recycled contents and to propose as an alternative content the digital shortshort moving images.

Exploring the Genres and Cast Portions' Influences on Broadcasting Entertainers' Professional Consciousness and Program Awareness (장르와 배역 크기에 따른 방송 연예인의 직업의식과 프로그램 의식 고찰)

  • This study examines popular entertainers' professionalism with division of genres and cast portions. While genres can be divided into TV drama and variety show, cast portion into leading, supporting, and minor role. Entertainers' thought is categorized into their professional consciousness and their program awareness. By this division and categorization, this study grasps concretely how genres and cast portions affect entertainers' ideas. We conducted a survey on one hundred entertainers in TV dramas and variety shows and have analyzed data by using n-way ANOVA. This study also conducted in-depth interview as a research method by which we intended to enhance validity of the result. The results provide that genres and cast portions affected on entertainers' professional consciousness and their program awareness. In terms of professional consciousness, significant result was drawn on thoughts of discrimination, community, vocation, and satisfaction. In terms of their program awareness, affection, accountability, ownership, and anxiety consciousness were significant. With this result, this study provides implications both theoretical aspect and practical aspect. On theoretical aspect, this study broadens celebrity studies beyond star studies, and attempts to categorize entertainers theoretically. On practical aspect, it provides reconsideration on broadcasting condition, and suggests solving the problem of gap among entertainers.

Automatic Cast-list Analysis System in Broadcasting Videos (방송 비디오 등장인물 자동 분석 시스템)

  • In this paper, we propose a system that can analyze appearance interval of casts by detecting and recognizing casts in broadcasting videos. The cast is one of the most important characteristics in broadcasting videos such as drama and sports. In this paper, we propose the ACAV(Automatic Cast-list Analysis in Videos) system that analyzes cast-list automatically in video. The ACAV system consists of FAGIS(FAce reGIStration) which registers detected faces into the face DB and FACOG(FAce reCOGnition) that analyses the cast-list in video sequence using the face DB. We evaluate performance of the ACAV system by comparing with FaceIt, one of the most well-known commercial systems for the cast-list analysis. The ACAV shows face detection and recognition rates of 84.3% and 75.7% that are about 30% and 27.5% higher than those of FaceIt, respectively. The ACAV system can be applied to mass broadcasting videos management system for broadcasters and video management system of PVR(Personal Video Recorder) and mobile phone for the public.
