A Study on Image Recognition by Orientation Information (방향정보처리에 의한 영상 인식에 관한 연구)

  • There are a lot of characteristics in Human visual information processing when image information is transmitted from retina to visual cortex. Among them, we analyze the sensibility of the orientation and cortical magnification on an image. The fact that the small fovea is allotted a large area on the cortex is called the cortical magnification factor. We compare recognition rates by weight of vertical, horizontal and diagonal response. In statistics analysis, we show that a particular simple cell responds best to a bar with a vertical orientation. After then, we will apply the characteristics to Human visual system.

Decomposition of gas-phase benzene by $TiO_2$ coated alumina balls (이상화티탄이 코팅된 알루미나볼에 의한 기상벤젠의 분해)

  • 알루미나볼 위에 Titanium tetraisopropoxide(TTIP)를 원료로, 화학기상증착법으로 제조된 $TiO_{2}/Al_{2}O_{3}$ 볼을 이용하여 벤젠의 기상 광 분해 실험을 실시하였다. 기상분해 과정의 연속적 측정을 위하여 순환식의 반응장치를 자체 제작하였으며, PID(Photo Ionization Detector)방식의 VOCs meter를 이용하여 광조사에 의한 벤젠의 분해율을 실시간으로 측정하였다. 기상의 벤젠과 $TiO_2/Al_{2}O_{3}$ 볼의 원활한 흡착을 위해 30분간 암반응 시킨 후 광분해율을 측정한 결과 광조사에 의한 분말표면에 흡착된 VOCs의 탈착에 의한 초기 농도증가 현상이 공통적으로 측정되었으며, 흡착 면적이 작을수록 농도 증가 또한 낮게 측정되었다. 또한 최적조건을 기준으로 실시한 분해 실험 결과 60ppm이상의 고농도 영역에서는 VOCs의 분해가 비교적 느리게 진행되었지만, 60ppm이하의 저농도 영역에서는 급속한 VOCs의 분해가 측정되었다. 마찬가지로 반응 표면적이 넓을수록, 광원이 많을수록 그리고 광분해에 사용된 자외선 램프의 강도가 클수록 광반응에 의한 벤젠의 분해율이 증가하였다.

Studies on the Electrochemical Properties for Rancidity of Linoleic Acid (리놀산의 산패에 대한 전기화학적 특성 연구)

  • We studied the degree of rancidity of linoleic acid for the electrochemical redox reaction in time course and the kinetic parameters. The current of the linoleic acid was increased and the potential was shifted to the positive potential when scan rates were faster. The redox reaction of the linoleic acid was proceeding to totally irreversible and diffusion controlled reaction. From these results, diffusion coefficient(D$\_$o/) of linoleic acid was observed to 2.61$\times$10$\^$-6/ ㎠/s in the 0.1 M TEAP/DMF electrolyte solution. Also, exchange rate constant(K$\^$o/) was observed to 9.79$\times$10$\^$-11/ cm/s. The leaving time in air condition was found to affect the rancidity. We predicted that the product was carbonyl compounds.

  • In the current study, in order to understand the dynamic response characteristics of the system according to the external acoustic forcing, a numerical approach was developed by adding an sign-sweep forcing function to the existing network model. Through this model, the sensitivity of frequency and pressure amplitude changes according to system parameters such as the physical dimensions and boundary conditions of the target combustor was analyzed in a wide frequency range. Analysis results of dynamic response characteristics of the target combustor are shown that the frequency regime with high dynamic pressure response was similar to the instability frequency range measured in the same combustor, and in particular, the response of the system depends greatly on the location of the acoustic forcing source term.

  • 최근 광촉매 재료로 각광받고 있는 TiO$_2$는 band gap 에너지가 3.0-3.2eV로 자외선 영역과 일부 가시광선 영역에서 활성을 갖는 것으로 알려져 있다. 따라서 용액 중에 결정화 및 안정화 되어있는 TiO$_2$의 band gap 에너지를 낮춘다면 가시광 영역의 광반응을 얻을 수 있다. 이에 본 연구는 G. Sato등이 제안한 방법으로 TiO$_2$ sol을 제조할 때 band gap 에너지를 낮추고자 천이 금속원소를 첨가하여 복합 및 담지된 TiO$_2$계 복합 sol을 합성하고자 하였다 출발원료는 TiC1$_4$를 가수분해하여 제조한 TiOCl$_2$에 천이금속원소인 V, Cr, Fe, Ni, Nb 등의 chloride 화합물을 첨가하여 중화 및 세척과정을 거친 후, 과산화수소수에 용해하여 전구체 용액인 titania peroxo용액을 제조하였다 제조된 전구체 용액은 온도와 시간을 변수로 각각 열처리하여 TiO$_2$계 복합 sol을 합성하였다. 제조된 시편은 X-선 회절 분석, 투과전자현미경, particle size analyzer, ζ-potential analyzer 및 UV-VIS Spectrometer 통을 이용하여 천이금속 첨가에 따른 TiO$_2$계 복합 sol의 형성과정과 특성변화를 관찰하였다.

Product of inulo-oligosaccharides from inulin by endo-inulinase activiting enzyme and Its deletion mutant protein from CFTase

  • We have previously reported recombinant deletion mutant was constructed from cycloinulo-oligosaccharide fructanotransferase(CFTase) gene of Xanthmonas oryzae MGL21. Purification of the mutant protein from E. coli and reation condition for the production of inulo-oligosaccharide(ISO) were studied. The molecular mass of the CFTase deletion mutant protein was estimated to be 90kDa by SDS- Polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. Optimum reaction pH and temperature were pH6.5 and $40^{\circ}C$, respectively. Under optimal reaction conditions, endo-inulinase activating enzyme was rapidly produced ISO from inulin. Components were DP(degree of polymerization) 3and 4 with trace amount of smaller oligosaccharides.

  • We fabricated the newly proposed nano structure memory with SOI edge channel and a nano dot. The width of the edge channel of this device, which uses the side wall as a channel and has a nano dot on this channel region, was determined by the thickness of the recessed top-silicon layer of SOI wafer. The size of side-wall nano dot was determined by the RIE etch and E-Beam lithography. The I$_{d}$-V$_{d}$, I$_{d}$-V$_{g}$ characteristics of the devices without nano dots and memory characteristics of the devices with nano dots were obtained, where the voltage scan was done between -20 V and 14 V and the threshold voltage shift was about 1 V.t 1 V.

Entrainer Enhanced Reactive Distillation for Production of Butyl Acetate: Experimental Investigation in Pilot-Scale (부틸 아세테이트 생산을 위한 외부 공비제 첨가 반응증류: 파일럿 규모 실험을 통한 연구)

  • Butyl acetate is produced from acetic acid and butanol via an esterification reaction in reactive distillation (RD). The product, butyl acetate, has been used as an internal entrainer until now. In this case, butyl acetate and water are removed at the top of column and separated into two different phases (organic and aqueous phases) after condensation, and butyl acetate rich organic phase is refluxed into the RD. This method makes butyl acetate remain high at the reactive zone, leading to lower equilibrium conversion and product yield. We introduced an extraneous entrainer to solve the problem. The extraneous entrainer forms a new azeotrope with water. The proposed process provides lower concentration of butyl acetate in the reactive zone than conventional RD processes using an internal entrainer. We compared the yield and production rate of butyl acetate between the proposed and conventional processes through pilot-scale experiments. Experimental and simulation results showed that the proposed process was more efficient than conventional process using internal entrainer.

상용 핵연료 피복관의 대량수소화 반응속도 연구

  • 상용 핵연료 피복관 재료로 사용되고 있는 Zircaloy-2와 Zircaloy-4 및 ZIRLO$^{TM}$에 대한 수소와의 반응거동 및 속도론적(kinetic) 자료를 얻기 위하여 electro-microbalance가 장착된 TGA (thermogravimetric analysis) 장치를 이용하여 30$0^{\circ}C$~50$0^{\circ}C$의 온도범위에서 1기압 수소와의 반응에 따른 무게증가를 in-situ로 측정하였다. Zircaloy와 수소와의 반응거동은 chamber내 온도상승시 생성되는 산화막에 의해 초기에는 느린 반응이 진행되는 영역이 존재하고 온도가 낮은 35$0^{\circ}C$ 이하에서는 이것이 잠복기 형태로 나타난 후 직선속도법칙(linear rate law)을 따르며 반응이 가속화되는 것으로 나타났고 40$0^{\circ}C$ 이하의 저온에서는 직선속도법칙에서 반응이 지연되는 방향으로 약간의 편차(deviation)가 관찰되었다. 그 결과 Zircaloy-2와 ZIRLO$^{TM}$가 Zircaloy-4보다 수소와의 반응속도가 빠르고 활성화에너지가 낮은 것으로 나타났으며 직선속도법칙을 근거로 하여 각각 1.1x$10^{7}$ exp(-20,800/RT)와 1.5x$10^{6}$exp(-18,000/RT) 및 6.9x$10^{7}$ exp(-23,800/RT) (mg/dm$^2$/min) 의 속도상수를 도출하였다. 또한, 열구배가 존재하지 않는 out-of-pile 조건하에서도 'sunburst' 형태의 국부적 수소침투가 발생할 수 있음이 ~l,000 ppm이상의 수소침투 시편에서 확인되었다. ~3,000ppm이상 침투하게 되면 표면에 수소화물이 농축되어 있는 hydride layer가 형성됨을 관찰하였으며 ~5,000ppm 이상의 경우에는 수소화물의 방향성이 random하였으며 특히, ZIRLO$^{TM}$ 시편의 경우에서는 원주방향으로 길게 이어진 수소화물과 기계적 성질에 치명적인 반경방향의 수소화물이 평행하게 배열된 것을 관찰하였다.

Cure Behavior of a DGEBF Epoxy using Asymmetric Cycloaliphatic Amine Curing Agent (비대칭 고리형 지방족 아민 경화제를 이용한 DGEBF 계열 에폭시의 경화 거동)

  • The curing kinetics of diglycidyl ether of bisphenol F (DGEBF) with an asymmetric cycloaliphatic amine curing agent were examined by thermal analysis in both isothermal and dynamic curing conditions. From the residual curing of the samples partially cured in isothermal condition and from the dynamic curing with various heating rates, it was found that there exist two kinds of reactions such as at low temperature and at high temperature regions. It was thus also found that the cure parameters obtained from the isothermal curing kinetic model hardly estimate experimental results for a degree of cure larger than 0.6. The activation energies and frequency factors of these two kinds of reactions were obtained from the dynamic curing experiments with various heating rates. From the curing analysis, it was verified that the total cure kinetics for low degrees of cure is dominated by the cure reaction in the low temperature region.
