A mathematics-educational investigation on the philosophy of science of Bachelard - focused on the Dialectical Developments of Science (Bachelard 과학철학의 수학교육학적 의미 탐색 - 변증법적 발달을 중심으로)

  • The philosophy of science of Bachelard is introduced mainly with epistemological obstacles in the discussions within mathematics education. In his philosophy, epistemological obstacles are connected with the dialectical developments of science. Science progresses through generalization of concepts and theories by negating things which were recognized as obvious. These processes start with ruptures against the existing knowledge. Epistemological obstacles are failure in keeping distance with the existing knowledge when reorganization is needed. This concept means that there are the inherent difficulties in the processes of concept formation. Finally I compare the view of Bachelard on the developments of science and the 'interiorization-condensation-objectification' scheme of reflexive abstraction in mathematics education and discuss the inherent difficulties in the learning mathematics.

  • A number of process algebras are not well suitable for real-time navigation/delivery systems due to the following reasons: 1) lack of representation of process distributivity over some geographical space and 2) the indistinction of representation of process mobility from process distributivity over the space. To make the process algebra suitable to the systems, it seems to be necessary to separate the space representation from the mobility representation. This paper presents a formal method for this purpose, namely, Calculus of Abstract Real-Time Distribution, Mobility, and Interaction (CARDMI). For analysis and verification of behavioral properties, CARDMI defines a set of the spatial, temporal and the interactive deduction rules and a set of equivalence relations. The rules and equivalences can be abstracted hierarchically due to the spatial abstraction, too. CARDMI can be applied to virtual navigation/delivery system for contents, too.

Decision Tree Classifier for Multiple Abstraction Levels of Data (다중 추상화 수준의 데이터를 위한 결정 트리 분류기)

  • Since the data is collected from disparate sources in many actual data mining environments, it is common to have data values in different abstraction levels. This paper shows that such multiple abstraction levels of data can cause undesirable effects in decision tree classification. After explaining that equalizing abstraction levels by force cannot provide satisfactory solutions of this problem, it presents a method to utilize the data as it is. The proposed method accommodates the generalization/specialization relationship between data values in both of the construction and the class assignment phase of decision tree classification. The experimental results show that the proposed method reduces classification error rates significantly when multiple abstraction levels of data are involved.

  • XML 뷰 기반의 랩퍼 시스템은 지역 데이터베이스에 대한 XML 뷰 정의를 지원하고, 사용자는 XML 질의어를 이용하여 XML 뷰에 대한 질의를 할 수 있다. 이 때, XML 뷰와 질의간의 합성이 필수적인데, 본 논문에서는 XML 뷰와 사용자 질의를 높은 수준에서 추상화하여 모두 트리로 표현하고, 이것을 이용하여 질의에 나타난 뷰의 경로식에 대한 항해를 통해 합성을 수행하는 모델을 제시한다. 뷰 트리는 가상의 XML 문서의 구조를 그대로 반영하기 때문에 경로식의 항해를 쉽게 하며, XML 뷰의 스키마를 생성하고, 질의 결과 문서를 구성하는 템플릿으로 활용된다. 또한, XML 뷰와 질의의 추상화된 개념적 통일은 다단계 XML 뷰 정의와 합성을 지원하고, 구현을 용이하게 한다.

  • The artificial intelligence, robot technology, Internet of things, and life sciences that create added value while dramatically transforming human life have been highlighted in the fourth industrial revolution, the next industrial revolution. In order to adapt to the 4th industry, it is necessary to educate students to develop fusion thinking and computing thinking ability. Therefore, in this study, we developed a digital Yut Playing system based on physical computing, reflecting STEAM and decomposition, pattern recognition, abstraction, and algorithm design, which are components of computing thinking. By experiencing the developed system and applying it to education, it raised interest and interest in programming education and improved programming lesson for fusion thinking and computing thinking ability.

  • 최근 가상화 기술은 하드웨어의 추상화, 통합된 시스템 관리, 유지관리 비용의 절감 등 다양한 장점과 가능성으로 주목받는 기술로 각광받고 있으며, 가상화 기술을 도입한 다양한 제품과 기술이 개발되어 정보통신의 여러 분야에 적용되고 있다. 본 고에서는 해킹 또는 악성 코드를 다루기 위해 별도의 격리된 환경이 필수적인 정보보호 교육에 있어 가상화 기술의 적용을 위한 방안을 여러 측면에서 살펴보고, 이에 대한 장단점과 정보보호 교육의 특성을 잘 반영할 수 있는 고려사항에 대해 논의한다.

  • It is clear that students attending at technical high schools, which are commonly believed to have low mathematical learning standard, are able to improve their mathematical learning abilities through concrete operational activities. One thing that teachers should remember is that the subject in learning is the student not the teacher any more, so that teachers are able to become assistants by letting students study independently rather than passively.

  • In this paper, we apply mathematising activities to geometry contents of corrent in middle and high school in order to actualize learning and teaching through Freudenthal's, Piaget's, and Van Hieles's mathematising among many theories affecting teaching and learning methods. Learners find out mathematical idea through the activities of mathematising that interprete mathematical problemm. And we derive mathematic through the experience of vertical mathematising that expresses it. Based on it, Freudenthal's progressive mathematising process, etc are used in doing the activities of applicative mathematising.

Effects of Mathematical Instructions Based on Constructivism on Learners' Reasoning A bility (구성주의 수학 수업이 추론 능력에 미치는 영향 - 초등학교 3학년 나눗셈을 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study is to confirm the effects of the learner-centered instruction based on constructivism on learners' reasoning ability and their achievements which is closely related to reflective abstracting ability. To do it, learner-centered instructions for division was implemented, recall test, generation test, content reasoning test I and II were carried out. The following conclusions were drawn from the data we got. Experimental group(EG) improved their reasoning ability, while comparison group(CG) did not. EG showed statistically significant difference in the achievements of the contents learned in comparing with CG, and the difference in the achievements of the contents unlearned in the treatment in comparing with CG was higher than the one. In addition, the comparisons of the subgroups(high, middle, and low) between EG and CG showed that the treatment had a positive influence on the achievement to all subgroups in EG. That is, the treatment was effective for unable learners. Finally, EG showed statistically significant difference in the sub-domain of simple calculation which might be considered as the benefits of the treatment of the CG as well as in the sub-domain of concept and principle.

  • 컴퓨터의 급속한 보급으로 시각화는 수학 교육자사이의 논의에 자주 등장하는 소재가 되었다. 우리는 다양한 소프트웨어를 사용하여 준비한 수업에 학생들로 임하게는 하지만 거의 그들의 사고 발달과정에는 관심을 갖지 못하고 있다. 이 논문은 구성주의(Constructivism)와 정보처리체계(Information-Processing System)에 입각하여 수학의 시각화를 생각해보고 어떻게 시각화 환경을 준비해야하는지 논해보고자 하였다. 구성주의의 시각화에서는 반영적 추상(reflective abstraction), 반복되는 경험(repeated experience), 그리고 지식 위계성이 학습의 기능 체계를 이루므로 발견적 학습을 통해 학생 스스로 의미를 구성할 수 있도록 Thomas (1992)의 세 가지 제안을 이용하여 수업을 준비할 수 있다. 정보처리체계에서는 지식은 서술적인 것과 과정적인 것으로 나뉘어지고, 시각적 표상을 수록하고 삭제하는 과정과 조작 가능한(manipulative) 환경과의 상호작용으로 기호적 시각으로 표상을 변화하는 과정을 통해 개념을 습득하게된다. 시각화는 스키마와 개념상을 통해서 일어난다. 그래프, 애니메이션, 그리고 다른 시각적 표상 등은 이 개념상에 직접적 효과를 주므로 매우 중요하다. 이런 논란을 바탕으로 교사는 반영적 추상화를 위해 시간을 충분히 제공해야하고, 비슷한 문제를 가지고 여러번 시도를 할 수 있게 하며, 학생을 잘 관찰하여 그들의 지식 위계성을 이해하고 방향을 제시하며, 논리적이고 잘 연결된 시각적 표상을 제공하고, 상징적 사관으로 확장할 수 있게 조작할 수 있는 환경에서 시각화에 대해 학생과 많은 대화를 하도록 수업을 준비해야한다. 그한 예로 타원을 가르치기 위해 몇 가지 테크놀로지를 활용한 시각화 환경을 구성해보았다.ates of bisected bovine embryos by micromanipulator and micropipett were 29.2% and 19.1%, respectively.
