A Study on the Characteristics of Therapy Radiation Detector with Diode (다이오드를 이용한 치료방사선 검출기의 특성에 관한 연구)

  • High-energy and high-dose X-ray and electron beam have been used in radiation therapy after developing particle accelerators. It is recommended to irradiate patients exect real dose for improving therapy effectiveness by International Committee on Radiation Units and Measurement. The radiation detector for daily beam checks of medical accelerators is described. Using thirteen silicon diodes, we have designed the diode detector providing information about calibration, beam symmetry, flatness, stability variation according to radiation damage, time and general quality assurance for both photon and eletron beams. we also compared these measurement values with those of using ionization chamber, film and semiconductor dosimeter.

  • CFL(Compact Fluorescent Lamp)는 기존에 사용되던 백열 램프를 바로 대치할 수 있고, 백열 전구에 비하여 광 효율이 우수하다는 장점으로 인해서 사용처가 점점 증가되고 있는 추세이다. 하지만 등기구가 가지는 공간적인 제약으로 인해서 EMI 필터와 PFC 회로를 내장할 수 없으며, 램프에서 발생한 열이 직접적으로 안정기 회로에 영향을 주어 안정기 내부 온도가 매우 높게 상승한다는 점으로 인해서 다양한 기능을 갖는 전용 ballast control IC를 사용할 수 없었다. 이러한 이유로 인해서 toroidal core를 이용한 자려식(self-excited) 동작 방법이 주로 이용되어왔다. 이러한 자려식 발진 방법은 설계하기가 까다롭기 때문에 램프 점등 전에 램프 필라멘트를 예열한 이후에 점등을 하는 rapid start 방법을 구현하기 어려웠다. 본 논문은 fairchild 반도체에서 만든 CFL 전용 ballast IC가 가지는 특성에 대해서 다루었다. IC 내부에 안정기 동작을 제어하기 위한 제어 부분과 두 개의 MOSFET를 내장하고 있어 안정기 구성에 필요한 공간을 최소화할 수 있고, 부하 상태를 검출하여 항상 Active ZVS 동작을 하도록 하는 기능을 내장하고 있어서 스위칭 손실을 최소화할 수 있다는 장점을 가지고 있다.

  • 적외선검출기용 반도체소자($Hg_1_xCd_xTe$)의 특성 및 응용에 대하여 조사하고, 국외의 연구현황과 국내의 문제점 및 향후 전망에 대하여 기술하였다. $Hg_1_xCd_xTe$는 조성에 따라 검지기 파장영역을 조절할 수 있으며, 그 자체에 검지부와 신호처리부를 집적할 수 있는 monolithic기술이 유망하여 앞으로 중요한 반도체중의 하나로 확립될 것이다.

  • X-ray absorption rate and multiplication factor of X-ray detector were calculated with Garfield code. High Z (= atomic number) was important factor to increase the absorption rate but low Z is also important to increase the multiplication. Five different gas composition were examined under the condition of 1400 V bias and 400 um gap. Xe 100% gas showed the highest absorption rate and He 96% + isobutene 4% showed the highest multiplication.

  • InSb (III-V compound semiconductor) is used for photodiode to detect the mid-wavelength infrared radiation. Generally the quantum efficiency of InSb IR FPAs(Focal Plane Arrays) is known to be determined by thickness of InSb and transmittance of anti-reflection coating layer. In this study, we confirmed that the C-V characteristics of detector array affects the quantum efficiency of the InSb IR FPAs. We fabricated the IR FPAs with various $V_{fb}$(flat band voltage) values and confirmed the tendency between the $V_{fb}$ value and quantum efficiency of the IR FPAs.

  • Edge detection in image processing and computer vision is one of the most fundamental operations. Canny edge detection algorithm has excellent performance and is currently widely used. However, it is difficult to process the algorithm in real-time because the algorithm is complex. In this study, the equations required in the algorithm were simplified to facilitate hardware implementation, and the calculation speed was increased by using a parallel structure. In particular, the size and management of local buffers were selected in consideration of parallel processing and filter size so that data could be processed without bottlenecks. It was designed in verilog and implemented in FPGA to verify operation and performance.

  • In this paper, the design techniques required to design heterodyned OPLL such as frequency-phase deference detector, loop filter and phase noise of semiconductor laser are presented. Through the experiments with the calculated parameters, we confirmed that the frequency-phase difference detector simply develops an error component that is proportional to the frequency-phase difference between heterodyned optical signals. The achieved frequency-phase locking range of the input laser diode frequency is around ${\pm}150MHz$. This paper describes the details of the designed as well as experimental results.
