A female specimen of Sternuchopsis (s. str.) waltoni (Boheman, 1844), belonging to the tribe Mecysolobini (Curculionidae: Molytinae), was collected by beating method from Gadeok-do in Busan, the southern part of the Korean Peninsula. This weevil pest is designated as a quarantine pest under the Plant Quarantine Act (2019) in Korea. It is considered unreasonable to determine whether this species is an invasive or native species in Korea, as damage to crops has not been confirmed and there is no other collection information. This study aims to provide accurate diagnosis information including illustration and ecological information to gain more domestic occurrence information on this weevil.

The family Brachyceridae is reported for the first time in Korea and is represented by Desmodophorus hebes (Fabricius, 1781). A revised description, morphological photographs of adults, illustrations of genitalia, a key to the families of Korean Curculionoidea, and a key to the East Asian species of Desmidophorus are provided.

This study was made to describe the morphological features of larvae of Pissodes nitidus, Pissodes obscurus, Shirahoshizo insidiosus, Curculio sikkimensis, Cryptorhynchus lapathi of Curculionidae and Apoderus jekeli, Byctiscus puberulus regalis, Euops splendidus, Rhynchites heros of Attelabidae and Siplinus gigas of Rhynchophoridae.

Wood products are sometimes infested with cossonid weevils. A cossonid weevil, Hexarthrum brevicorne Wollaston has been found on wood boards used for printing books in the Jeonju Confucian temple and school (2004), a wood cabinet in the Museum of Milyang (2007), a wood wardrobe in the Museum of Seoul (2008) and on wood boards used for printing Buddhist scriptures in the temple of Suncheon (2008). Wood utensils for living in the Museum of Seoul were found to be infested with another cossonid weevil, Rhyncolus sculpturatus (Waltl) in 2008. To protect the cultural property from insect pests in the field of conservation science, more comprehensive insect pest management (IPM) programs are required.

The mouthparts of the Apionidae are almost of the same structures as in the Curculionidae feeding soft plant tissues, and two subfamilies in the current system are well supported by their structures. The subfamilies Apioninae and Nanophyinae are clearly characterized as follows. In Apioninae, clypeal margin sinuate; mandibles meet anteropo-steriorly when retracted and more or less curved internally; maxillary palpi two-segmented, with large palpiger; labial palpi one-segmented; prementum parallel-sided, longer than wide. In Nanophyinae, clypeal margin with two to three notches in the middle; mandibles meet anteroposteriorly when retracted and more or less curved internally; maxillary palpi three-segmented, palpiger about as great as stipes; labial palpi two-segmented, separated to each other by the apical protrusion of prementum; prementum about as long as wide. In total, 7 species of two genera under the tribe Trachodini Gistel are recognized from Korea. Among them, four species, Trachodes ovipennis Morimoto et Miyakawa, Acicnemis azumai Morimoto et Miyakawa, A. palliata Pascoe, and A. shibatai Voss are reported for the first time from Korea. A key to the tribe Trachodini, brief descriptions and illustrations of the adults are provided.

During late July 2020, a species of weevil in the genus Aclees (Curculionidae, Molytinae) was found on several fig farms in the Haenam-gun district of Jeonnam Province, Korea. The weevil was subsequently identified as Aclees taiwanensis Kôno, 1933 (Coleoptera: Curculionidae), an exotic species, probably of subtropical and tropical Asian origin, that has also been introduced to Italy and France, where it is associated with severe damage to fig trees. This is the first report of an Aclees weevil in Korea.

Eighteen species in 15 genera of anthribids have been reported from Korea. Four species of anthribids, Enedreytes gotoi Shibata, Sympaector rugirostris (Sharp), Litocerus securus (Boheman), and Rhaphitropis truncatoides Morimoto are added to the list for the first time in Korea. Thus Korean anthribids fauna have 22 species in 19 genera.
