The impact of the Characteristics of Posting at Social Media Service on the Consumer Responsiveness in the Comics Publication Industry (출판 만화 기업의 소셜 네트워크 서비스 게시글의 속성이 소비자 호응도에 미치는 영향)

  • Recently, comics pulication industry is experiencing long-time recess in Korean market. To overcome the difficulties firms are trying to develop various tools which fit new technological environments, but previous research tend to have focused too much on web-base contents such as webtoons, rather than communication effectiveness through social network services. Thus, this study investigated the relationship between the characteristics of postings at social network service and the consumer responsiveness. In the results, we found that posting with visual images and event invitations were positively associated with consumer responsiveness, and the amount of information was negatively associated with the responsiveness. This study shows some implications on how firms can effectively enhance communication with consumers through social network service.

  • The recent emergence of diverse platform-based media devices such as smart phones and iPads has aroused interest of consumers all across the world. This interest has led to digitalization of paper books and a steep growth in the digital publishing industry at home and abroad. However, advent of various devices and content has caused the issue of compatibility and produced needs and demand for standardization to exchange and share content related to digital publication. Through collection of opinions of 16 stakeholders from the industrial, academic, research, and public sectors, this study aims to examine predictable future changes about content and its distribution, devices, standardization, technical protective measures, and obstacles in future digital publishing and eventually to draw out areas and elements for future standards development.

  • With ever more popularity of video web-publishing, popular content is being compressed, reformatted and modified, resulting in excessive content duplication. Such overlapped data can cause problem of search speed and rate of searching. However, duplicated data on other site can provide alternatives while specific site cause problem. This paper proposes the efficient method, for retrieving. similar video data in large database. In this research we have used the method to compare summarized video image instead of the raw video data, and detected similar videos through clustering in that dimension feature vector through PCA(principle component analysis). We show that our proposed method is efficient and accurate through our experiment.

The State and Trend of Digital Signage Research in Korea (한국 디지털 사이니지 연구의 어제와 오늘: 연구 추세와 미래 연구 제안)

  • The objective of this study is to understand and give an overview regarding research trends in digital signage in Korea, which has recently received significant attention from the media market. For the past 10 years, from 2006 to 2016, 69 studies related to digital signage were found. Following the coding guidelines, the present study conducted a content analysis on the published peer-reviewed journals in Korea including their published year, each journal's number of compilations, journal ratings, number of researchers and their major, field of research, research medium, research method, research samples, and the applied statistical analysis. Through the analyzed results, we found out that there are numerous studies on digital signage in various fields of study, including media content. A number of case studies and experimental studies were made. However, theoretical research on digital signage was still found to be insufficient. Lastly, a wider variety of theories are suggested to be applied in future study along with conducting joint research with cooperation between industry partners and academics in order to further advance the research on digital signage.

  • This paper focuses on proposing an alternative solution via identifying the problems that domestic popular magazines encounter in the context of the recession crisis faced by printed media in accordance with the advent of the digital media era. Firstly, current-state investigation and in-depth interviews with editorial staff of the major 4 domestic women's magazines were conducted to analyze their brand positioning and change of direction in facing the rise of smart devices. Secondly, domestic women's magazines were compared with international popular magazines that have been successfully undergoing digitalization. Accordingly, domestic women's magazines lack the know-how to digitalize their publication and show limitations in collaboration, openness, trans-media, and cross-media. As most women's magazines are unprofessionally composed of gossip articles having popular appeal rather than practicality, it is an urgent issue for them to differentiate their contents from competitors.

  • Copyright is challenged by the rapid development of digital technology. This study investigated a number of new copyright-related issues : electrocopying, digital transmission, legal definition of multimedia, moral right, fair use et al. To use copyright works we need licensing of rights and permissions. Then at this paper we examined the scopes and contents of permission with copyright owners or publishers, also considered relationships of copyright owners with distributors and end-users. Finally, to protect rights of copyright owners and use freely copyright works, we suggested introduction of 'collective management system of copyright' and construction of 'copyright management information system' .

  • 디지털 콘텐츠(이하 DC) 시장중 대표적으로 출판, 음악, 영화 부분은 불법복제유통 등 시장 비활성화 요인을 지니고 있다. DC 수익배분 선행연구나 양면시장이론 등은 전체 시장규모를 키우는 방안제시가 미약한 편이다. 이를 타파하기 위해 산업계는 가격인하 및 신규 서비스 방식을 도입중이다. 이를 반영하여 본고에서는 양면시장이론에 근거한 광고미디어형 모형의 확산을 제안한다. 거래 중계형 모형에서는 콘텐츠 오픈소스화 및 One-Source Multi-Use 활성화, 디지털화로 인한 비용절감분만큼 가격인하, 렌털 소유가격 차별화 등을 제안하고 있다.

  • 피어리뷰(Peer Review)는 17세기 학술지가 만들어진 이래 오늘날까지 가장 널리 사용되는 논문의 질적인 수준과 학술지 게재 여부를 판단하는 전통적인 평가도구이다. 그러나 피어리뷰의 과정에서 발생되는 공정성 저해와 학술출판 분야에서 오픈 액세스 (OA, Open Access) 저널이 계속적으로 증가하는 디지털 미디어 시대에서 소수의 전문가가 검증하는 피어리뷰 시스템에 관한 불만들이 제기되면서 현 피어리뷰 시스템의 새로운 대안으로 오픈 피어리뷰(Open Peer Review)가 제시되기도 하였다. 이에 본 연구에서는 피어리뷰의 이론적 배경을 살펴보고 이를 토대로 새로운 대안으로 떠오르고 있는 오픈피어리뷰의 평가도구로써의 활용가능성에 대하여 살펴보고자 한다.

  • As digital media evolves, image changes have evolved from 2D to 3D. At the end of the 1930s when the US overcame the economic crisis and met the Second World War, people needed a hero to escape reality. In DC (Detective Comics), superhero comics started to become popular by making superhero series mainly with Super Man and Bat Man. Timely Comics, founded by Martin Goodman in 1939, also published Marvel Comics, the first comic strip in epochal comics on October 1 of the same year. From this point on, Marble has developed mainly in the cartoon industry. However, in the development of the times and the change of media, Marble boldly grasps the influence of Hollywood movies from the comic centered development system, and moves from the cartoon market to the movie market. Especially, the trans-media storytelling strategy was well reflected in the movie "Avengers" series, which Marvel produced after the merger with Disney. In this paper, When Marble Comics compares with the time when the comic book industry developed before the merger and the time when the movie industry was focused after the merger with Disney What kind of change and development, and The purpose of this study is to investigate the causes of these changes.
