  • A service in the environments of internet of things (IoT) exist various types with automation facilities and sensors. There can configure so many communication protocols to networking facilities and sensors. To provide efficient various kind of service, a middleware platform, is based on the internet protocol network, is needed a unified access with devices, controlling and monitoring huge kind of facilities and sensors, to provide a efficient IoT service and application configurations. In this paper, we propose a middleware that an application and service interact with automation facilities and monitor sensors. The proposed middleware is designed with adapter pattern that one of the software engineering design pattern. The adapter pattern is to ensure communication with each sensor and to make sure of service scalability. Finally, the proposed component middleware shows that variety sensors can be easily configure the service in the IoT environment.

  • Distributed competing system gives a new system architecture to be taken into consideration for solving the problems of interoperability of heterogeneous systems. In the present paper, CORBA based on multi-threaded interoperates with software blocks at physically isolated hardware. We show how archives optimal CORBA system from analysis of required functions, implementations of protocols and benchmarking of system performance in the Open Multi-service Network System Environment. The core features of our CORBA system are restricted Quality of Service based on priority, timeout service and exception status information notify to the related software blocks. And the objectives are design and implementation of high performance multi-threaded middleware and satisfied with extendibility, flexibility and stability of CORBA platform.

  • In this paper, we configure a Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID) gateway using an arduino and raspberry pi which are recent issues with a representative open source hardware. RFID technology is emerging as a key technology in a variety of environments as a technique to automatically identify objects using a radio frequency signal. In this paper, we propose a distributed RFID gateway for providing various communication methods and processing a large amount of RFID tag information efficiently, and to increase the scalability and middleware communication efficiency of the RFID reader. Existing RFID middleware systems have the problems that they should adhere the web service for interworking with a reader and the communication standard. Therefore, in this paper, we comprise our RFID gate to satisfy not only the serial communication configuration but also various digital signal processing standard so that it increases the communication efficiency of the middleware system.

  • In this paper, we analyze the problems that the DDS middleware, which is a standard data-centric communication interface, uses the fixed packet transmission method by the pre-defined protocol for exchanging data packets. The packet transmission method selected in a fixed manner cannot handle appropriately the increasing of resource overhead in an environment where the load of the DDS network changes dynamically. If the load on the node and network exceeds the threshold, the performance of the packet transmission may be degraded rapidly. This results in a failure of ensuring the real-time characteristic of DDS middleware. To solve this problem, we propose the scheme of the adaptive packet transmission for adjusting the transmission method in real-time based on the overhead on the DDS network.

  • the data-centric publish/subscribe middle-ware is suitable for a communication environment in which various devices dynamically forms a network domain and same type of data are frequently exchanged. For this purpose, OMG has standardized DDS (Data Distribution Service) specification. In this study, we designed the RiTiCoM, data distribution service system that observes the OMG DDS (Data Distribution Service) standard specification and supports the automation of system management, and analyzed the performance and compared with the JMS.

  • Migrim(Migration enhanced Grid Middleware) is a communication middleware between embedded devices and multiple servers. In traditional client-server communication, users' requests are sent to and processed by a designated server even though the server may suffer from a heavy load. In addition, the designated server may not have proper information to process the user's request correctly. Proposed connection migration mechanism and transaction migration mechanism are designed to improve the performance and accuracy of request processing. The connection migration is a procedure for delegating a connection to another server, which results in a well-distributed balancing of load among the servers. The transaction migration is a procedure for delegating a transaction to another server, and improves the accuracy of response.
