A newly naturalized plant, Carex scoparia Schkuhr ex Willd. var. scoparia, was found in Mt. Hanseok, Injegun, Gangwon-do, Korea. It belongs to sect. Ovales Kunth and had been known from North America, and was introduced into Europe and New Zealand. This species distinguished from related taxa in Asia, Carex maackii Maxim. and Carex leporina L., by pistillate scales lanceolate and having large perigynia. We propose the new Korean name, 'Han-seok-sa-cho', based on its first collecting place. We also provide descriptions for morphological characters, illustrations, photographs and keys to allied taxa.

A newly recorded species, Fimbristylis hookeriana Boeckeler, was found in Gyema-ri, Hongnongeup, Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do and Munyeo-do Is., Gunsan-si, Jeollabuk-do, Korea. Fimbristylis hookeriana is closely related to F. dichotoma, which has ovoid spikelets, deciduous scales, pubescent culms, and short style. However, this species is distinguished by very narrowly ovoid spikelets, persistent scales, glabrous culms, and long style. We propose a new Korean name, 'Ba-Wi-Ha-Neul-Ji-Gi', meaning that this inhabits on dried rocks near seashore. Redescription, illustrations, photographs, table, and a key to species of the Fimbristylis Vahl in Korea are provided.

An unrecorded species, Carex rugata Ohwi, was found in Jeollabuk-do and Jeollanam-do. This species is distinguished from Carex breviculmis R. Br., C. mitrata Franch., C. polyschoena H. Lev. & Vaniot, C. genkaiensis Ohwi, C. formosensis H. Lev. & Vaniot and C. kamagariensis K. Okamoto by having achenes with excavated faces. Carex rugata Ohwi was named 'Ju-reum-cheong-sa-cho' in Korean based on its specific epithet. In this study, a description, illustrations and photographs of the species are provided.

We report S. caricina (R. Br) Benth. (Cyperaceae) as an unrecorded species from Sinan-gun, Jeollanam Province on the Korean peninsula. This taxon was known to be distributed mainly in southeast Asia, China, Japan, and the northern part of Australia. S. caricina is distinguished from other species of the genus Scleria in Korea by having congested inflorescences, 3-toothed pistillate scales at the apex, and enclosed achenes in 2 scales. The new Korean common name, 'Ae-gi-gae-ol-mi', is given considering the small-size of the plants. A description based on the morphological characters and the illustrations of this species are provided with a taxonomic key to the species of Scleria in Korea.

A newly recorded species, Schoenoplectiella ${\times}$uzenensis (Ohwi ex T. Koyama) Hayasaka, was found in Chosan Lake, Gosu-myeon, Gochang-gun, Jeollabuk-do, Korea. Schoenoplectiella ${\times}$uzenensis differs from its related species in having short rhizomes and 1 to 3 spikelets showing inflorescence. Schoenoplectiella triangulata has very short rhizomes and 520 spikelets with inflorescence. Schoenoplectiella lineolata has long creeping rhizomes and 1 spikelet showing inflorescence. We propose the new Korean name of 'Go-Chang-Go-Rang-Ei' based on its initial collection site. A description, line drawing, color photographs, table, and a species key of Korean Schoenoplectiella are provided for species identification.

Eleocharis parvula (Roem. & Schult.) Bluff, Nees & Schauer (Cyperaceae), was found in Ganghwa-gun, Incheon Metropolitan City in Korea. This species is distinguished from related taxa in Korea by its small fusiform tubers, culms without septa when dry, 3-fid stigmas and style base confluent with the apex of achene. This taxon was named 'Gaet-ba-neul-gol' in Korean based on its habitat. We provide its description, illustrations, photographs and a key to the related taxa in Korea.

An unrecorded species, Carex benkei T. Shimizu, was found in Is. Jaewondo, Jaewon-ri, Imja-myeon, Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do and Dongbaik-dongsan, Seonheul-ri, Jocheon-eup, Jeju-si, Is. Jeju-do, South Korea. C. benkei is closely related to C. transversa Boott and C. brownii Tuck., and C. benkei is distingushied from the pistillate scales length, excluding the awn, similar to the achene and the beak of the achene with an annular appendage. A new Korean name, 'Gin-Hwa-Sal-Sa-Cho', was given based on its long pistillate scales excluding the awn compared with Carex transversa Boott. We provide here its redescription, illustrations, photographs, and a key to species of the sect. Confertiflorae Franch. ex Ohwi.

An unrecorded species, Carex aequialta K$\ddot{u}$k. (Cyperaceae), was found in Yecheon-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do and Jeju-si, Jeju-do. This species is distinguished from related taxa, C. maximowiczii Miq., C. suifunensis Kom., C. phacota Spreng., C. dimorpholepis Steud., C. shimidzensis Franch. and C. tegulata H. Lev. & Vaniot, by having suberect lateral spikes, awnless pistillate scales, short rhizomes and corymblike inflorescences. This taxon was named 'Mul-kko-ri-sa-cho' in Korean based on its external appearances and habitat. We provide its description, illustrations, photographs and the key of related taxa in Korea.

Three unrecorded species, Carex chungii Z. P. Wang, C. tsushimensis (Ohwi) Ohwi, C. multifolia Ohwi were found in Korea. C. chungii Z. P. Wang was found in Is. Wan and Is. Geogeum, Jeollanam-do and Namhae, Gyeongsangnam-do. This species is distinguished from C. leuchoclora Bunge by achenes constricted above in the middle. C. tsushimensis (Ohwi) Ohwi was found in Is. Gageo, Sinan, Jeollanam-do. This species is distinguished from C. conica Boott by pistillate scales with a long arista. C. multifolia Ohwi was found in Haenam, Jeollanam-do. This species is distinguished from C. sachalinensis var. sikokiana (Franch. & Sav.) Ohwi by caespitose and leaf of light gray. We provide here their description, illustration, photographs and the key of related species.

We found an unrecorded species, Carex molestiformis Reznicek & Rothrock, in Byeokparyeong, Daehwa-myeon, Pyeongchang-gun, Gangwon-do, South Korea. This species is native to southern parts of the United States (ca. 11 states, including Arkansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma). These plants are usually distributed densely in stream flood plains, bottomlands, stream banks, and along roadsides. Belonging to section Ovales Kunth, perennial herbs with gynecandrous spikes, C. molestiformis is closely related to C. maackii Maxim. and C. scoparia Willd. and is distinguished from them by the number (2-4) of spikes in each inflorescence and the width (2.63.4 mm) and number (69) of veins of perigynia. A new Korean name of C. molestiformis 'Ga-Neun-Ta-Rae-Sa-Cho' was given, as it has slender overall appearance compared with C. maackii (Ta-Rae-Sa-Cho). We also provide a description, illustrations, photographs and a key of related taxa in Korea. We compared three DNA barcode region (chloroplast DNA matK, ndhF and nuclear ribosomal DNA internal transcribed spacer) sequences from C. molestiformis with those of C. maackii and C. scoparia, determining eight species-specific single nucleotide polymorphism sites for C. molestiformis.
