본 연구에서는 부모의 사회경제적 지위가 자녀의 학업성취를 통해 재생산되도록 만드는 변수들의 영향을 밝히려고 하였다. 가족의 사회경제적 변수, 극히 사회자본과 문화자본이 독립적으로 또는 가족배경을 맥락으로 자녀의 학업성취도에 미치는 영향에 대해 분석하였다. 연구대상으로는 중고등학생 총 2771명의 사례를 분석하였다. 중학생에 비해 고등학생들의 학업성취에 미치는 부모의 사회경제적 배경변수의 영향력은 감소하였다. 그러나 사회자본과 문화자본의 영향력은 증가하였다. 성별에 따라 분석한 결과, 남학생의 경우는 부모의 사회경제적 변수와 가족의 사회자본과 문화자본의 영향력이 동시에 존재하나 여학생의 경우에는 사회자본과 문화자본의 영향이 거의 없고, 부모의 사회경제적 변수 중에서 아버지의 직업과 자산이 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다. 사회자본과 문화자본의 영향력은 상당부분 부모의 사회경제적 자원에 흡수되는 경향이 있으나 가족의 자녀에 대한 관심은 여전히 학업성취도에 중요한 영향을 미치는 사회자본임을 발견하였다. 이번 연구결과를 통해 경제적 지원만으로는 자녀의 학업성취를 높이기 어려우며 사회자본이나 문화자본과 함께 결합된 사회경제적 지원이 자녀의 학업성취에 기여함을 발견하였다.

The purpose of this research is to empirically analyze the effect of public library use on the construction of social and cultural capital and the close of social classes reproduction through the survey targeting public library users. As a result, the use of public libraries positively affects the construction of both social and cultural capital. In contrast, it partially addresses the problems in social classes reproduction because the social classes with higher levels of education and income tend to use public libraries more often. In order to take a role of and contribute to equal construction of social and cultural capital, public libraries need to be public places for open and social interaction. In addition, it is necessary for public libraries to improve their roles to allow community members to access and utilize various cultural resources.

This paper verifies if the engagement in social activities mediates the effects of human, economic and cultural capitals on successful aging in elderly citizens. The questionnaire survey data collected from 356 elderly citizens aged 65 and over in Busan undergoes structural equation modeling for analysis. The analysis highlights the following. First, human and cultural capitals influence social engagement activities whereas economic capital does not. Second, economic capital affects successful aging whereas human and cultural capitals do not. Third, engagement in social activities impacts on successful aging. Fourth, engagement in social activities mediates the effects of human, economic and cultural capitals on successful aging. Based on these findings, this paper makes suggestions for improving the capitals and social activities of the elderly for successful aging.

The purpose of this study is to explore the impact of cultural capital on individuals and society, and to demonstrate the causal relationship between cultural capital and viewing loyalty. Existing studies conducted from a cultural sociological point of view have mainly linked cultural capital to social inequality issues, so the role of cultural capital in personal life and social life has not received attention. To fill this literary gap, this study explored the role of cultural capital centering on the art field. A structural equation model was used to test the research hypotheses, and data were collected for college (graduate) students from three universities in Seoul. As a result of the study, it was found that artistic cultural capital had a significant effect on self-image in the field of personal life. In addition, it was found that artistic cultural capital had a positive effect on tolerant attitudes in the field of social life. Finally, it was found that viewing loyalty, which refers to favorable attitudes and behaviors toward visiting art museums, was significantly affected by artistic cultural capital. The results of this study have academic and practical implications in terms of exploring the practical role of cultural capital.

한국사회에서 새로운 미디어 문화로 가장 각광받는 것 중 하나가 '싸이월드(www. cyworld.com)' 이다. 싸이월드는 웹(Web)에서 하루하루의 일기(Log)를 쓰는 개념인 '개인 블로그(Blog)'로써 개인 미니 홈페이지 형태이다. 이는 단순한 트렌드에 그치는 것이 아니라, 2000 년대 초 카페나 커뮤니티를 기반으로 한 '집단(group) 사이버 문화'를 '개인 (individual) 사이버 문화'로 전환시키는 하나의 문화적 수준에서 논의되고 있다. 그런데 블로그 사이버 문화는 자본주의 소비문화와 밀접하게 연결된다. 현대의 사이비 문화는 개인의 능동적 선택과 이용을 전재로 하므로 자율적이고 독창적인 방식으로 미디어 문화를 소비하는 데, 자본주의 경제사회 속에서 개인의 자율성은 표면적인 이미지에 지나지 않는다. 특히 싸이월드와 같은 개인 미디어는 더욱 개인의 자율성에 기반한 문화행위를 실천하지만, 사실 싸이월드틀 움직이는 경제구조 속에서 규제된다. 싸이월드 이용자가 기본 미니홈피 플랫폼에 자신만의 개성을 표현하기 위해서는 '도토리' 라는 싸이월드의 전자화폐를 사용해야 하고, 이를 이용해 미니룸, 미니미, 스킨, 배경음악 등의 아이템을 구매한다. 그러나 싸이월드 이용자들은 개인의 자율성에 의해 소비행위를 창출하는 것이므로 이를 통해 이윤을 획득하는 자본세력에 대해서는 고려하지 않는다. 이것이 바로 자본주의 소비문화에 의해 지배되는 부정적인 '실제의 왜곡' 이다. 개인의 자율성을 강조함으로써 자본가의 이윤획득 구조를 은폐하여 자본본주의 소비를 재생산하고 강화하는 것이다. 따라서 우리는 개인 문화를 강조하는 현대 미디어 문화구조를 자본주의 권력의 장(場)으로 이해해야 한다. 그리고 미디어 문화의 생산과 소비를 통해 자본주의 소비 문화가 재생산되고 강화되는 현상을 비판함으로써 온라인 블로그의 커뮤니케이션 특성이 생산자(producer)로서의 기능보다 소비자(consumer) 로서의 기능이 강조되고 있음을 이해해야 할 것이다.

It is generally accepted that cultural capital is constructed through cultural environments that facilitate the cultural activities of individuals. Although public libraries foster the cultural environment and support various cultural activities, there is controversy about whether public libraries still affect the formation of cultural capital in the current evolved cultural environment. This research empirically verified the roles of public libraries in the formation of cultural capital by conducting a survey targeting public library users. As a result, public libraries as cultural institutions play an important role in providing opportunities to access and utilize cultural resources and to experience various cultural activities, which are connected to the formation of different types of cultural capital. In addition, public libraries function to close the cultural divide and social disparities by providing equal opportunities to construct cultural capital for community members.

Prior research has shown empirically that organizational culture and social capital are as a critical factor determining organizational effectiveness. The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of social welfare's organizational culture on the social capital. For the research, social capital was consisted of trust, norms and network, and organizational culture was measured by Kimberly & Quinn's competing value model. The results of this study were summarized as follows: Mean analyses showed that social workers perceived the level of organizational culture and social capital had a higher than medium. Especially, group culture had a strong positive effects on the social capital. This study finally discussed theoretical implications for future study and practical implications for social capital strategies on the results.

Since second half of 1990s, Korean "Han-Ryu" focuses international attention, which means Korean cultural industries increase their exports. However, traditional theories of international trade in cultural industries could not explain this phenomenon of increasing cultural goods from developing countries. Using the fact that Becker(1996)'s 'consumption capital' can increase productivity in cultural industries as well as contribute to form 'taste' for new cultural goods. This study suggests the proper conditions for catching-up of developing countries in cultural industries through comparative statistics.

This paper aims to study on attribute of interaction between user from cultural capital perspective of Bourdieu who expanded the concept of capital and presented class production and reproduction through 'World of Warcraft' play and analysis. The results of this study is that First, game ability showed properties of cultural capital that embodied, objectified, institutionalized. Second, the types of interaction by difference of cultural capital appeared that lurking, reciprocity, exclusion. This study identified game ability have attributes of cultural capital and that Due to the nature of the interaction for 'Disticion', individual actions are related to the process of accumulating power and contribute to class reproduction.

The purpose of this study is to investigate whether organizational culture perception affect the intellectual capital and job performance. And the empirical analysis on the mediation effect of intellectual capital between organizational culture and job performance is done. Result of the analysis is as follows. First of all, development culture has a negative relationship with job performance. Secondly, group culture has a positive relationship with intellectual capital. Thirdly, as for the mediation relationship of intellectual capital between organizational culture and job performance, there is a partial mediation effect in the relationship between development culture and job performance, and a complete mediation effect between group culture and job performance. Those analysis results suggests that welfare centers workers for the disabled in organizational culture perception should be taken considerations on various measures utilizing intellectual capital to improve job performance.
