The Show up Time in the Development of the Korean Pilots Fatigue Management Program (한국형 운항승무원 피로관리 프로그램의 출두시간에 관한 연구)

  • The significance of pilots' fatigue and the attributed risk management had continuously increased over time as the airline industry expanded. Research and legislation efforts associated with pilot fatigue are being taking place actively all over the world. In the developed world such as the United States and European Union etc., the airline pilot fatigue is already being managed by considering the show up time, the number of take offs and landings made, resting period, jet lag etc., when computing flight duty time. In Korea, the flight duty time is only limited by the total number of hours per given period regardless of the flight conditions and environment. Such lack of regulation demand development of a fatigue management program. According to the survey taken from the airline pilots in Korea, it has been found that acquiring foreign policies directly may in turn, increase the risk of fatigue. This research suggest future studies regarding fatigue management program adapted exclusively to Korean domestic flight environment and culture.

A Study on Development of SKOS-based Metadata Elements for Managing Keywords in the National Science and Technology Standard Classification System (국가과학기술표준분류체계 용어 관리를 위한 SKOS 기반 메타데이터 요소 개발 연구)

  • The National Science and Technology Standard Classification System is established and operated for the purpose of efficiently managing science and technology related information, manpower, and R&D projects. The revision cycle for the classification system is five years, and 2022 is the first year of the next revision procedures. The main purpose of the next revision is to turn the third level categories into the keywords in the current classification system. It is to solve the problems about not reflecting the latest terms, and the difficulty in linking with the relevant other classifications caused by the rigid structure of the current classification system. In this study, the method was proposed by changing the existing classification system into the term management system as to improve the quality and usability of keywords related with the current third level categories. For this method, SKOS, the international standard terminology management system, and ISO/IEC 11179 standards were offered as basic models. In addition, the related metadata standards used in overseas scientific and technological glossaries were investigated, and compared with the current National Science and Technology Standard Classification System. And then essential metadata elements from the terminology management as point of view was derived. As a result, 11 standard metadata elements that can be immediately modified and applied in the current system were recommended, and five elements that can be applied after the revision of the classification system were offered.

The Effect of the Parental Support for the Practice Competence of the Adolescent on Career Decision Self-Efficacy (그릿의 조절효과에 따른 청소년활동역량에 대한 부모의 진로지지가 진로결정 자기효능감에 미치는 영향)

  • In this study, the researcher analyzed the mediating effect of the parental career support the moderating effect of grit in the structural path of the youth activity competence, career decision self-efficacy, and parental career support in the influence of the active capability of the adolescents in career decision self-efficacy. Data analysis was conducted through a questionnaire survey on a total of 515 people. First, youth activity competency was found to have a positive effect on parental career support. Second, parental career support was found to have a positive effect on career decision self-efficacy. Third, youth activity competency was found to have a positive effect on career decision self-efficacy. Fourth, parental career support was found to have a significant mediating effect in the influence of the youth activity competence in career decision self-efficacy. Fifth, as a result of multi-group analysis on the youth grit low/high group, it was verified that a significant influence relationship was established for the grit low/high group in all pathways.

  • The construction safety policy of Korea requires safety reviews at design stages, which affect the perceptions and attitudes of the workers toward safety. Despite this heightened social interest in safety, there is no related research in the field of landscape architecture. This study entails a review of the status of landscape construction accidents in Korea and an assessment of landscape engineers' perception of construction safety climate and safety behaviors. A survey of landscape constructors and designers was performed, and the obtained data were statistically analyzed. The results indicate the following: (1) More than half of the accidents which are registered in CSI occurred in apartment houses ordered by the private sector in the type of facility and planting works in the landscaping process; (2) Landscape designers were better aware of safety than landscape constructors. Among them, safety attitude, work risk, work participation, and work pressure were statistically significant; Apart from the statistical significance, landscape designers recognized the importance of safety highly but they tended to have a relatively low perception of specific safety behaviors. (3) Lastly, landscape constructors attributed less importance to safety review during the design stage compared to other items.

A Study on the Current Status Analysis and Operation Strategies for Establishing the Mid- to Long-term Development Plans for Anyang Municipal Libraries (안양시 공공도서관 중장기 발전 계획 수립을 위한 현황 분석 및 운영 전략 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to derive the operation strategies for establishing the mid-to-long-term comprehensive library development plans considering the identity and specificity of Anyang City. For this purpose, this study proceeded as follows. First, to understand the internal and external environment and regional characteristics of Anyang City, various literature and statistical data related to Anyang City were collected, analyzed, and organized. Second, the operation status of Anyang municipal libraries was analyzed with data such as 「National Library Statistics System」, 「Gyeonggido Public Library Yearbook」, and various library-related laws. Third, a survey with open-ended questions was conducted for twenty-six librarians working in Anyang municipal libraries to collect opinions on the identity of Anyang and the overall operations of the libraries. Lastly, by reflecting the current status analysis, the latest library trends, policies, and sociocultural environments, detailed operation strategies that can serve as a basis for establishing mid-to long term development plans for Anyang municipal libraries in the future were proposed. The above operating strategies were proposed by dividing into six areas such as (1) the plans for organizational system and manpower composition, (2) the facility plans for balanced regional development, (3) the collection development and preservation direction, (4) the special subject materials service plans, (5) the for establishing cooperation system, and (6) the public relations plans.

Development of Deep Learning Model for Detecting Road Cracks Based on Drone Image Data (드론 촬영 이미지 데이터를 기반으로 한 도로 균열 탐지 딥러닝 모델 개발)

  • Drones are used in various fields, including land survey, transportation, forestry/agriculture, marine, environment, disaster prevention, water resources, cultural assets, and construction, as their industrial importance and market size have increased. In this study, image data for deep learning was collected using a mavic3 drone capturing images at a shooting altitude was 20 m with ×7 magnification. Swin Transformer and UperNet were employed as the backbone and architecture of the deep learning model. About 800 sheets of labeled data were augmented to increase the amount of data. The learning process encompassed three rounds. The Cross-Entropy loss function was used in the first and second learning; the Tversky loss function was used in the third learning. In the future, when the crack detection model is advanced through convergence with the Internet of Things (IoT) through additional research, it will be possible to detect patching or potholes. In addition, it is expected that real-time detection tasks of drones can quickly secure the detection of pavement maintenance sections.

  • Korean construction companies first advanced to the international markets in 1960's and so far have brought more than 4,900 projects which account for 193 billion dollars approximately. With the large increase of national employment and income being followed by the achievement, Korea's construction industry has made an enormous contribution to the improvement of domestic economy for the last 40 years. However, recently the increased risk in international markets as well as the sharpening competition with foreign companies promising in terms of advanced technologies and low labor cost have been driving Korean construction away from the market shares. According to ENR (Engineering News Record, 1994~2003), it is revealed that 15.1% of top 225 global contractors are suffering from loss in international construction markets. This phenomenon is largely due to the highly uncertain characteristics of international projects, which are inherently exposed to various and complicated risky situations. Furthermore, especially for Korean construction companies, it is often the case that the failure in an international construction project cannot be offset by even a sufficient number of successful domestic achievements. Therefore, not only the selective screening among the nominated projects which have strong possibility of collapse but the systematic strategies for controlling potential risk factors are also considered indispensable in international construction portfolio management. The purpose of this study is to first analyze the causal relationships of the profit-influencing variables and the project success, and develop the profitability forecasting model in international construction projects.

The Effect of Job Stress on Job Intention of Vocational Counselors : Focusing on the Mediating Effect of Job Satisfaction (직업상담사의 직무스트레스가 이직의도에 미치는 영향 : 직무만족의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to empirically analyze the impact of job stress on job turnover intention through job satisfaction for vocational counselors working in private and employment centers in Korea. This study applied the significance sampling method, and the number of samples used in the maximum analysis was 167 copies, and statistical analysis was conducted using the SPSS 20.0 program. In order to verify the relationship between each variable, four hypotheses were established, and empirical analysis and surveys were conducted. As a result of the analysis, first, among the sub-factors of job stress of vocational counselors, job demands, organizational systems, and workplace culture had a significant positive (+) effect on turnover intention. Second, among the sub-factors of job stress, job demand, lack of job autonomy, and organizational system were found to have a significant negative (-) effect on job satisfaction. Third, job satisfaction was found to have a significant negative (-) effect on turnover intention. Fourth, it was found that job satisfaction partially mediates complete mediation with job factors, which are sub-factors of job stress, with the organizational system. Therefore, it can be seen that job stress of vocational counselors is a factor affecting turnover intention and job satisfaction. Based on these analysis results, the implications of the study, suggestions to reduce the intention to change jobs due to stress of vocational counselors, and limitations of the study were presented.

The Use of Generative AI Technologies in Electronic Records Management and Archival Information Service (전자기록관리 업무 및 기록정보서비스에서의 생성형 AI 기술 활용)

  • Records management institutions in Korea generally face a situation where they lack the workforce to manage the vast amount of electronic records. If electronic records management tasks and archival information services can be automated and intelligentized, the workload can be reduced and the service satisfaction of users can be improved. Therefore, this study proposes to utilize "generative AI" technology in records management practice. To achieve this, the study first examined previous research that aimed to intelligently automate various tasks in the field of records management. The fundamental concepts of generative AI were subsequently outlined, and domestic cases of generative AI applications were investigated. Next, the scope of applying generative AI to the field of records management was defined, and specific utilization strategies were proposed based on this. Regarding the strategies, the effectiveness was verified by presenting results from applying commercial generative AI services or citing examples from other fields. Lastly, the benefits and implications of using generative AI technology in the field of records management, as well as limitations that must be addressed in advance, were presented. This study holds significance in that it identified tasks within the field of records management where generative AI technology can be integrated and proposed effective utilization strategies tailored to those tasks.

Mediating Effect of Empathy in the Relationship between Communication Skills and Interpersonal Relationship of MZ Generation Nursing Students (MZ세대 간호대학생의 의사소통능력과 대인관계유능성의 관계에서 공감능력의 매개효과)

  • This is a descriptive research study to confirm the mediating effect of empathy in the relationship between communication skills and interpersonal relationship of MZ generation nursing students. The subjects of this study were 129 nursing students born in 1981 to 2006, corresponding to the MZ generation, and the data collection period was from May 20 to July 30, 2023. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS 25.0 program, and the mediating effect of empathy was tested by Baron and Kenny's three-step mediating effect verification procedure, and Sobel test was conducted to test the statistical significance of the mediating effect. As a result of the analysis, communication skills (β=.45, p<.001) and empathy (β=.18, p=.008) had a significant effect on interpersonal relationship. These variables were found to have 48.4% explanatory power for interpersonal relationship. Empathy had a partial mediating effect (z=2.39, p=.016) in the relationship between communication skills and interpersonal relationship. Based on the results of this study, it is necessary to understand the characteristics of the MZ generation familiar with the non-face-to-face culture that will be in charge of future nursing and to develop effective programs to improve their interpersonal relationship.
