Background & Method : Bronchiolitis obliterans organizing pneumonia(BOOP) is a specific clinicopathologic condition characterized by chronic inflammatory interstitial infiltrates. Cryptogenic form of BOOP presents subacute clinical course of flu-like illness, such as cough, fever, dyspnea with exertion and other constitutional symptoms. Pathologically it shows the presence of granulation tissue filling the lumen of terminal and respiratory bronchioles, extending into distal airspaces. Recently, we reviewed 24 cases of idiopathic type of BOOP, 5 cases of our hospital and another 19 cases on Korean literatures, and compared with reviewed data from foreign literatures. Results : Mean age was 54 years old and there was female preponderance in domestic reports. Their common presenting symptoms were dyspnea and cough, and mean duration of illness was 41 days. On chest examination, inspiratory crackle was a common finding. The laboratory findings were nonspecific except hypoxemia. Lung function studies revealed restrictive defect or combined obstructive and restrictive pattern in most patients. Bilateral patchy and nonsegmental alveolar opacities constituted characterized radiographic finding, highlighted on high resolution computed tomogram. It showed a favorable prognosis with an excellent responsiveness to corticosteroid therapy. The clinical features and laboratory findings were similar between domestic and foreign cases except female preponderance in Korean cases. Conclusion : If the clinical course is atypical or pregressive under proper treatment, clinicians should reevaluate clinical features and radiographic findings under the consideration of BOOP. Tissue confirmation would be recommended for the definitive diagnosis of BOOP.

The purpose of this study is to interpret the growth and the present status of in 6 major Korean cities and 9 provinces libraries using statistical data. The data were collected from The Statistics on Libraries in Korea, and were analyzed for a time series by using the Excel program. The result shows that there are great differences in major statistics of libraries in Korea due to the historical backgrounds and various political and social conditions of the country. The differences are also more likely related to the size of the library collections, budget and number of staffs.

This article investigates the potentialities of using empirical variables and their associated statistical relationships in document representation and retrieval. To this end, a newly devised empirical fact retrieval system was evaluated in comparison to a simulated traditional retrieval system involving a set of predetermined empirical queries. Results indicate that the EFRS generally outperformed the TRS in terms of the precision, search effort, and measures of user satisfaction.

The pyrovalves are widely used in aerospace industry for the opening and closing of flow channel due to the light-weight, high reliability and zero-leakage. In the United States, the loss of some spacecrafts using hydrazine as the propellent were proven by the blowby. Blowby is defined as the leakage of pyrovalve ignition combustion gas to the flow channel. Since then, the interference fit was applied for the sealing of piston to prevent the blowby. In this study, literature survey on pyrovalve technology is summarized mainly for AIAA papers. Common problems, improvement method, and performance comparisons of pyrovalves are also presented.

본 연구는 e-Business 애플리케이션 구현과 관련된 성공요인을 도출하기 위하여 2단계로 구분하여 진행하고 있으며, 수행된 1단계 결과만을 본 논문에 수록하였다 기업간 전자상거래를 포함하는 인터넷 기반 e-Business 애플리케이션의 성공적인 구현을 위해서는 광범위한 요인들을 고려한 포괄적인 접근이 필요하며, 이를 위해 정보시스템 및 조직간 정보시스템 구현에 영향을 미치는 요인들에 관한 문헌연구를 수행하였다. 문헌연구를 통해 확인된 주요요인들과 e-Business 애플리케이션 구현을 담당하고 있는 컨설턴트들을 대상으로 한 인터뷰 결과를 비교 분석하여 22가지 항목들을 도출하였다. 이들 항목들을 근거로 설문도구를 설계하여 e-Business 애플리케이션을 구현하여 수행중인 현업 실무자 대상의 조사 수행 및 결과분석은 2단계 연구가 될 것이다.

The medical library, as a professional information center in relation to medical examination and treatment, research, and medical administration, should be operated under the rational and efficient library management. In that context, this study examines the theoretical underpinnings of the medical library management, and compares and analyzes, through direct visits, webpages, and statistical data, the current library operation of medical libraries in Seoul. This study also tries to make a managemental framework for the medical library by suggesting and discussing the result of this research.

This study investigated the background of the first and revised editions of the Han-Un Decimal Classification(HUDC), and analyzed their relationships to and influences on other major related classification systems. HUDC was compiled in 1954 and revised in 1981. HUDC was influenced by NDC in most classes of main classes and mnemonic schedules, and influenced by KDCP in the classes Religion, Language and Literature.

This study aims at reviewing the manual searching and the on-line Searching one of literature at the library or the information center, based on the comparative cost-effectiveness analysis. The study analyzes how the curriculum has been changed in 20 year time, from the year of 1991 to 2009, with 5 to 7 year interval. This paper particularly studies on four major projects to compare with; the whole conduction period of the departmental programs(1991), the instruction of college programs(1997), the conduction period of college programs(2004), and the recurrence period to the departmental programs(2009).

본 연구는 최근 들어 각광을 받고 있는 전자문서관리시스템(EDMS)의 주요 기능 중에서 문서의 공유와 문서 형식(file format)의 변환을 통한 전자문서 관리의 효용성 향상을 위해서 어떻게 전문 정보를 구축할 것인가에 초점을 맞추고 문서의 통합 기능을 제공하는 웹 기반의 EDMS를 설계 및 구현하였다. 이를 위하여 인터넷상에서 현재 표준 문서형식으로 사용 중이거나 개발중인 전자문서 포맷들의 특징을 비교, 분석하고, 정보 시스템의 관점에서 전문정보를 어떤 문서 포맷으로 처리하는 것이 적합한가를 검토하였다. 그리고 기존의 문헌을 전자화 하고 새로운 전자문헌을 제작하기 위한 보다 효율적인 방안 제시를 위하여 전문(全文) 정보를 PDF 문서로 제공하는 정보 시스템을 구현하였다.
