Minimizing non-optimal paths in multi-hop ad hoc network adopted IEEE 802.11 PSM (IEEE 802.11 PSM을 적용한 다중 홉애드 혹 네트워크에서 우회경로의 최소화)

  • It is easy to implement a temporary network with a mobile ad-hoc network in which mobile nodes have without using a infrastructure network. They depend on their limited power. Recently, it is a hot issue to save the energy in a mobile ad-hoc network because a mobile nodes have a limited energy. Research of IEEE 802.11 PSM was proposed in a single hop ad-hoc assumption. If IEEE 802.11 PSM is applied to multi hop ad-hoc network, non-optimal paths will be generated by the mobile nodes which didn't receive a message of routing request. Non-optimal paths increase not only a network latency but also energy consumption of mobile nodes. Reconfiguring algorithm of non-optimal paths caused by the mobile nodes which didn't receive a message of routing request is proposed in this paper. A mobile node can overhear the data in his range. A wireless medium is shared by all mobile nodes using the same bandwidth. All mobile nodes lookout the non-optimal paths with these properties of a medium, if non-optimal path is generated, optimal reconfiguring will be accomplished by modifying routing table of itself or sending a request message of routing update to nearby nodes. By reconfiguring the non-optimal paths to optimized ones, network latency and energy consumption was decreased. It is confirmed to ignore the overhead caused by a algorithm presented in this paper through the result of the simulation.

  • In wireless sensor networks, one of the most important issue is improvement of network lifetime with an efficient energy consumption. we repose effective multi-hop routing algorithm which increases the number of nodes alive at any time. In our algorithm we use the dynamic selection of cluster head and short distance transmission method. We simulated the proposed algorithm by using Network Simulator 2 and compared its performance with LEACH. The experimental result shows that the number of the nodes alive is increased up to 39.71[%] during the simulation time.

  • This paper presents an algorithm for the path-finding problem in unknown environments with cooperative and commutative multi-robots. To verify the algorithm, we investigate the problem of escaping through the exit of a randomly generated maze by muti-robots. For the purpose, we adopt the so called frontier cells and cell utility functions, which were used in the exploration problem for the multi-robots. For the wireless communications among the mobile robots, we modify and utilize the so called the random basket routing, a kind of hop-by-hop opportunistic routing. A mobile robot, once it finds the exit, will choose its next action, either escape immediately or stay-and-relay the exit information for the others, where the robot takes one action based on a given probability. We investigate the optimal probability that minimizes the average escaping time (out of the maze to the exit) of a mobile robot.

  • In a mobile ad hoc networks, multi-hop transmission is used to transfer data from source node to destination node and the routing protocol is the one of the important technical issues. The links between nodes can be unstable due to the changes of node location and channel conditions, and it can induce link error. To solve this problem, multipath routing was proposed. Multipath routing can reduce the data congestion and increase data throughput. In the multipath routing, however, each path can be interfered by the other path, and it can aggravate network performance. In this paper, we propose the multipath routing technique in the multi-rate MANET. The proposed multipath routing can avoid interference without the knowledge of node location. Simulation results show that the proposed multipath routing can reduce transmission delay and error.

  • An ad hoc wireless networks forms temporary network without the aid of fixed networks or centralized administration with a collection of wireless mobile hosts. In this case, it is necessary for one mobile host to enlist the aid of other hosts in forwarding a packet to its destination. This paper presents an efficient cluster-based routing protocol scheme for ad hoc networks. The cluster is used for path setup and data delivery. Our cluster-based routing algorithm is designed for the improvement of the load balance. Our simulation results show the improved performance for low mobility networks comparing with the previous works.

  • WMN is considered as a core methodology to provide mobile wireless network service with multi-hop routing feature. It has a merit that can be easily deployed by utilization of protocols for MANET. However, it has differences in supporting multiple networks and channels, network architecture, and so on. Especially, in case of routing protocols, to apply them intactly to WMN can be a cause of low performance because of do not moving mesh routers. AODV seems like suitable for WMN among the various routing protocols for MANET. However, it has a defect in scalability. In this paper, an enhanced AODV routing method for WMN was proposed. The proposed method was designed to be suitable to the architecture of WMN by use of layering and localizing the broadcasting domain.

  • IoT technology that utilizes wireless body area networks (WBAN) and biosensors is an important field in the health industry to minimize resources and monitor patients. In order to integrate IoT and WBAN, a cooperative protocol that constitutes WBAN's limited sensor nodes and rapid routing for efficient data transmission is required. In this paper we propose an we propose an energy efficient and cooperative link energy-efficient routing strategy(LEERS) to solve the problems of redundant data transmission detection and limited network sensor lifetime extention. The proposed scheme considers the hop count node congestion level towards the residual energy sink and bandwidth and parameters. In addition, by determining the path cost function and providing effective multi-hop routing, it is shown that the existing method is improved in terms of residual energy and throughput

  • Mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) allow mobile nodes to communicate among themselves via wireless multiple hops without the help of the wired infrastructure. Therefore, in the MANET, a route setup mechanism that makes nodes not within each other's transmission range communicate is required and, for this, the Ad-hoc On-demand Distance Vector (AODV) was proposed as one of the reactive routing protocols well suited for the characteristics of the MANET. AODV uses the hop count as the routing metric and, as a result, a node selects the farthest neighbor node as its next hop on a route, which results in a problem of deteriorating the overall network throughput because of selecting a relatively low data rate route. In this paper, we propose an efficient reactive routing protocol based on the multi-rate aware MAC. Through the simulations, we analyze the performance of our proposed mechanism and, from the simulation results, we show that our proposed mechanism outperforms the existing mechanism.

  • The nodes of Ad-hoc network are made up of location registration for sending information and a great number of packet transmissions to maintain routing route among the nodes. under this environment, a huge number of traffics would be generated as mobility variable occurs more than in physical network. Hence, in this paper, focused on to study the relationship of nodes to analyze the extend of the traffic in order to control the traffics of the multi-hop in Ad-hoc.

  • Recently, Expectation Area-based Real-time Routing (EAR2) protocol has been proposed to support real-time routing in wireless sensor networks. EAR2 considers the expectation area of a mobile sink and uses flooding within the expectation area. However, flooding leads to excessive energy consumption and causes long delay against real-time routing. Moreover, since EAR2 uses single path to the expectation area, it is difficult to support reliable routing in sensor networks with high link failures. Thus, to overcome these limitation of EAR2, this paper proposes a reliable and real-time routing protocol based on virtual grids and multipath for mobile sinks. To support real-time routing, the proposed protocol considers expectation grids belonged to the expectation area. Instead of flooding within the expectation area, the proposed protocol uses multicasting to the expectation grids and single hop forwarding in an expectation grid because the multicasting can save much energy and the single hop forwarding can provide short delay. Also, the proposed protocol uses multipath to the expectation grids to deal with link failures for supporting reliable routing. Simulation results show that the proposed protocol is superior to the existing protocols.
