Exploring the Relationship between Achievement Goal Orientation, Learning Motivation, and Flow in Distant PBL Classes: Focusing on the Mediating Effect of the Level of Interest (원격 PBL 수업에서 성취목표지향성, 학습동기, 몰입의 관계 탐색 : 흥미 수준의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • This study explored the structural relationship between achievement goal orientation, learning motivation, and level of interest on the level of flow in distance PBL classes. A structural model was constructed through analysis of previous studies. Data for the verification of the structural model were collected from 59 students in the teaching courses. The study took PBL lessons remotely. After the PBL class was ended, flow, achievement goal orientation, learning motivation, and level of interest were measured. The collected data were analyzed using the structural equation model analysis method. As a result, the structural model proposed in this study was verified to be valid. It was verified that the level of interest mediated the influence of achievement goal orientation and learning motivation to influence commitment. Next, it was verified that the path through which the level of interest mediates the effect of achievement goal orientation has the greatest influence. Therefore, it is possible to suggest that the level of flow can be adjusted if the level of interest is adjusted in consideration of the achievement goal orientation of learners when operating distance PBL classes.

A Study on Organizational Commitment and Goal Perception of University Librarians: A Qualitative Approach (대학도서관 사서의 조직몰입과 목표인식에 대한 연구: 질적 접근)

  • This study conducted qualitative research to investigate the librarians' organizational commitment and relations between the commitment and their goal recognition in the university library context with several open-ended, deep interviews with university librarians in order to understand the relations from diverse perspectives. As a result, many participants showed low level of organizational commitment because of their hygiene factors, such as payment, incentives, relations with colleagues, and job conditions as well as motivators including characteristics of the work, sense of accomplishment, responsibility, promotion, and self-improvement. The two factors are considered to have direct impacts on their organizational commitment. Also, the research revealed that positive goal perception was related to motivators and, at the same time, hygiene factors. Accordingly, we concluded that librarians' perception of goals are closely related to both hygiene factors and motivators. We also identify that a need of a statistical study with a questionnaire survey to confirm the relations between the organizational commitment and goal perception for developing managerial measures for the organizational commitment, and further;for better library performance.

A Study on the Effect of Self Leadership on Goal Commitment : The Mediating Effects of Self-Efficacy (셀프 리더십이 목표몰입에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 : 자기 효능감의 매개효과 검증)

  • This study is about self-leadership, which is leadership that we exercise over ourselves. In this study, I analyzed the effects of self-leadership on students' focusing on their goal commitments and self-efficacy's role as link between self-leadership and students' focusing on their goal commitments. In order to accomplish research purposes, I conducted a survey of 300 University students in Busan and carry out empirical study of 276 University students. As a result of analysis, I draw conclusions as follows. First, Hypothesis1 is adopted because the research results show that self-leadership has positive effects on students' focusing their goal commitments. Second, Hypothesis2 is adopted because the research results show that self-leadership has positive effects on students' self-efficacy. Third, Hypothesis3 is adopted because the research results show that self-efficacy has positive effects on student's focusing on their goal commitments. Forth, I conducted Mediating regression to see if self-efficacy plays a mediator role between self-leadership and student's focusing on their commitments. And the results show that behavior-focused strategies, constructive thought pattern strategies and natural reward strategies have perfect mediating effects. This study shows the importance of building self-leadership for young generations to be effective leaders of themselves.

Effects of MBO and Job Commitment on Nursing Performance in Operating Room Nurses (수술실 간호사의 목표관리특성과 직무몰입이 간호업무성과에 미치는 영향)

  • This study aimed to examine the effect of management by objectives(MBO) and job commitment on the nursing performance of operating room(OR) nurses. The study was conducted on 226 OR nurses from tertiary healthcare institutions in Seoul. Multiple regression analysis was performed to determine the effect of OR nurses on nursing performance. In results, the factors that affect the nursing performance of OR nurses included the concreteness of goals, job commitment, and measurability of objectives in that order, and these variables explained 25.9% of the nursing performance. Therefore, in order to improve the performance of the nursing work, it is necessary to make efforts to create a work environment where nursing can be carried out due to the nature of the nursing operation. In addition, it is essential to develop a strategy to further the influence of the concreteness and measurability of goals among other attributes, thereby enhancing the job performance of OR nurses.

The Correlation Between Achievement Goal Orientation and Learning Flow in Beauty Specialized High School Students:A Focus on Mediating Effects of Learning Attitude (미용특성화고등학교 학생들의 성취목표지향성과 학습몰입의 상관관계: 학습태도의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • This study aimed to analyse the mediating effects of learning attitudes in respect to the correlation between achievement goal orientation and learning flow. For the purpose, this study surveyed achievement goal orientation, learning flow and learning attitude of beauty specialized high school students located in Jeonnam with the use of a questionnaire. 335 copies of the answers were analysed with the use of the SPSS(PASW, ver 21.0). The results are presented as follows: Mastery approach of the achievement goal orientation and learning attitude had a significant effect on learning flow. It was discovered that learning attitude had a partial effect on the relations between mastery approach and learning flow, but it was reported that it had a complete mediating effect on the relations between performance avoidance and learning flow.

The Convergent effect of Self-Leadership and Goal Commitment on Problem Solving Ability of Nursing Students (간호대학생의 셀프리더십, 목표몰입이 문제해결능력에 미치는 융복합적 영향)

  • This study is a descriptive research designed to determine the effects of self-leadership and goal commitment on nursing students' problem-solving ability. For this purpose, the study made a questionnaire survey of 201 students attending at 4 nursing colleges located in B metropolitan city and D city. Data collected from the survey were analyzed using SPSS/WIN 21. The findings of this study can be summarized as follows. First, participants showed significant differences in nursing students' problem-solving ability on age, grade and major satisfaction. Second, there were correlations between self-leadership and nursing students' problem-solving ability and also between their goal commitment and problem-solving ability. Third, nursing students' problem-solving ability was most influenced by their self-leadership, followed by goal commitment and age in order. Therefore it is needed to provide nursing students with educational and interventive programs that help their better self-leadership and goal commitment of it.

  • According to the research, Personal Interaction is defined that players are solving several problem to achieve goals. And if Personal Interaction is effectively done, players can get optimal experience as fun. This study analyze what kinds of extrinsic and intrinsic reward affect player's flow experience. In the result of this study, the state of flow was felt when players were aware of opportunities for personal interaction. And the personal interaction could be motivated either to achieve the high cognitive performance or by providing the equity of distribution of the objective performance in order to examine players' cognitive performance.

The Effect of Simulation Integrated with Problem Based Learning(S-PBL) on Self-leadership, Critical Thinking Disposition, Goal Commitment (PBL기반 시뮬레이션 융합교육이 간호대학생의 셀프리더십, 비판적 사고성향, 목표몰입에 미치는 효과)

  • The purpose of this study was performed to examine the effects of simulation integrated with problem based learning(S-PBL) on self-leadership, critical thinking disposition, goal commitment for nursing students. The design was a one group pre-post test. The subjects consisted of one group of 90 fourth year nursing students of K Colleage. The period for this study was from March to June in 2019. The collected data were analyzed by Paired t-test, Pearson correlation coefficient. This study showed significantly higher self-leadership(t=-16.22, p<.001), critical thinking disposition(t=-11.36, p<.001), goal commitment(t=-7.06, p<.001). There was a significant positive correlation between self-leadership and critical thinking disposition(r=.438, p<.001), self-leadership and goal commitment(r=.285, p<.001). In conclusion, this study show that integrated with problem based learning(S-PBL) can be used for improvement the self-leadership, critical thinking disposition, goal commitment. It is suggested to check the effect of simulation integrated with problem based learning applying various nursing situations in the future.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship of goal orientation, flow experience and self-accomplishment among students who received lifeguard education. The findings of the study were as follows: First, the task-involvement of the college students receiving lifeguard education, which was one of the sub-variables of goal orientation, had an impact on cognitive flow and behavioral flow, and ego-involvement affected cognitive flow. Second, the task-involvement of the college students receiving lifeguard education, which was one of the sub-variables of goal orientation, exercised an influence on their self-realization, display of ability and development of ability, which were the task-involvement of self-accomplishment. Besides, ego-involvement impacted on self-realization. Third, the cognitive flow and behavioral flow of the college students receiving lifeguard education, which were the sub-variables of flow experience, exerted an influence on self-realization, display of ability and development of display, which were the sub-variables of self-accomplishment. Fourth, the goal orientation of the college students receiving lifeguard education had a firsthand relationship to flow experience and self-accomplishment, and that had a secondhand causal relationship to self-accomplishment through flow experience as well.

The Relationships among Achievement Goal-orientation, Sports Confidence, and Exercise Commitment in University Student-athletes (대학 학생선수의 성취목표지향성과 스포츠자신감 및 운동 몰입의 관계)

  • The purpose of The purpose of this study is to empirically investigate the relationships among achievement goal-orientation, sports confidence, and exercise commitment in university student-athletes. To fulfill this purpose, data were collected from 347 student-athletes enrolled in universities located in Seoul and the Gyeong-In area, and analysis thereof was carried out. Conclusion drawn from the performance of this study is as follows: First, university student-athletes' achievement goal-orientation has significant effects on their sports confidence. Second, university student-athletes' sports confidence has significant effects on their exercise commitment. Third, university student-athletes' achievement goal-orientation has significant effects on their exercise commitment. Fourth, sports confidence has indirect mediation effects on the relationship between achievement goal-orientation and exercise commitment in university student-athletes, and it was found that these factors had causal relationships. Therefore, the findings of this study show that university student-athletes' achievement goal-orientation plays an important role for their effective commitment to exercise, in the process of which sports confidence plays the role of a mediator, suggesting that psychological support as well as motor skill cultivation is necessary to enhance university student-athletes' performance.
