Simulation of Mixing Behavior for Dredging Plume using Puff Model (퍼프모형을 이용한 준설플륨의 혼합거동 모의)

  • The puff models have been developed to simulate the advection-diffusion processes of dredging suspended solids, either alone or in combination with Eulerian models. Computational efficiency and accuracy are of prime importance in designing these hybrid approaches to simulate a pollutant discharge, and we characterize two relatively simple Lagrangian techniques in this regard: forward Gaussian puff tracking (FGPT), and backward Gaussian puff tracking (BGPT). FGPT and BGPT offer dramatic savings in computational expense, but their applicability is limited by accuracy concerns in the presence of spatially variable flow or diffusivity fields or complex no-flux or open boundary conditions. For long simulations, particle and/or puff methods can transition to an Eulerian model if appropriate, since the relative computational expense of Lagrangian methods increases with time for continuous sources. Although we focus on simple Lagrangian models that are not suitable to all environmental applications, many of the implementation and computational efficiency concerns outlined herein would also be relevant to using higher order particle and puff methods to extend the near field.

Hybrid Element Model for Wave Transformation Analysis (파랑 변형 해석을 위한 복합 요소 모형)

  • In this study, we develop a finite element model to directly solve the Laplace equation while keeping the same computational efficiency as the models based on the extended mild-slope equation which has been widely used for calculation of wave transformation in shallow water. For this, the computational domain is discretized into finite elements with a single layer in the vertical direction. The velocity potential in the element is then expressed in terms of the potentials at the nodes located at water surface, and the Galerkin method is used to construct the numerical model. A common shape function is adopted in horizontal direction, and the cosine hyperbolic function in vertical direction, which describes the vertical behavior of progressive waves. The model was developed for vertical two-dimensional problems. In order to verify the developed model, it is applied to vertical two-dimensional problems of wave reflection and transmission. It is shown that the present finite element model is comparable to the models based on extended mild-slope equations in both computational efficiency and accuracy.

Efficiency Analysis for Korean Trucking Companies based on the Data Envelopment Ananlysis(DEA) (DEA 모형을 이용한 국내 화물자동차운송업체의 상대적 효율성 분석)

  • Logistic system and methods of the transportation have been changed rapidly by the variety of the logistics environment. It is necessary to analyze the efficiency of Korean trucking companies for enhancing the competitive power and operating. This paper will describe the analysis of the efficiency of the trucking companies with DEA models. By the CCR and the BCC models, which are in parts of DEA model, the efficiency and RTS(Return To Scale) of forty two selected trucking companies were studied. It was also analyzed how the study the input-output variables were effected. And then, some of the forty two trucking companies were shown as the benchmark. As the result of analysis on the two models, seven companies won the score '1' on CCR model and seventeen companies on BCC model. Moreover, this study showed that reducing the total asset out of input variables, and raising the sales profit out of the output variables played a main role to increase the efficiency of the trucking companies highly.

An Efficiency Analysis of Industry-University-Public Research Institute Collaborative Research: Employing the Input-Output Itemization Model (투입 및 산출 분해모형을 활용한 산학연 협력연구의 효율성 분석)

  • This study analyzed collaborative R&D projects funded by the Korean government from 2013-2015. For this analysis, input and output variables of projects were considered, and a combination of those variables was itemized. The output-oriented variable return to scale (VRS) model extended from the DEA methodology was adopted to evaluate the cooperation efficiency of the types of R&D collaboration, which were classified according to the project leader's organizations. In addition, hierarchical cluster analysis was conducted using the efficiency results of the scientific, technical, and economical outcome models. The results showed that cooperation efficiency between large companies and public research institutions was relatively high. Conversely, cooperation among medium-sized companies, small businesses and universities was particularly inefficient. The clustering results demonstrated the various strengths and weaknesses of the types depending on publications, patents, technical loyalties and the number of commercialization. In conclusion, this study suggests differentiated investment portfolios and strategies based on the efficiency results of diverse cooperation types among industries, universities and public research institutions.

A study on Management Efficiency of Semiconductor Industry (반도체 산업의 경영효율성에 관한 연구)

  • The Korean semiconductor industry is the top export item, and its technological prowess is also higher than that of its competitors. However, the technology gap with rivals will narrow. And the semiconductor industry is facing difficulties due to trade friction. Therefore, semiconductor firms should be more efficient in their production. we study analyzes the efficiency semiconductor firms using DEA model. We evaluate the CCR, BBC efficiency and RTS(return to scale) of 30 Korean semiconductor firms. There are a total of 13 efficient DMUs with a BCC of 1. There are a total of 6 efficient DMUs with a CCR of 1. A total of 10 DMUs were IRS in Scale Efficiency and a total of 9 DMUs were CRS in Scale Efficiency and a total of 11 DMUs were DRS in Scale Efficiency. We also suggest the semiconductor firms which can be benchmarked based on analyzed information.

  • 고도의 산업발달은 인간환경과 밀접한 하구와 해안의 오염을 심화시켜 최근 사회적 문제로 대두되고 있으며, 이에 오염물질의 이동을 예측하고 제어하려는 노력이 꾸준이 진행되어 왔다. 이 같은 노력은 수치모형을 이용한 수질관리 연구에도 많은 진전을 가지고 왔으며, 오일러적 모형, 라그랑쥐적 모형, 오일러-라그랑쥐 적 모형이 대표적이다. 오일러-라그랑쥐적 모형은 이류에 대해 라그랑쥐적 방법, 확산에 대해 오일러적 방법으로 해석함으로서 각 방법들의 장점을 취하여 수치적 진동, 수치적 확산이 적고 효율성이 뛰어나 최근 많이 연구되고 있다. The Comparative Evaluations of Telecommunications Service Forecasting Models for Forecating Performance (통신서비스산업 예측모형 예측력 비교 분석)

  • 본 연구는 현재 통신서비스 산업에서 가장 많이 사용하고 있는 5개 예측모형(단순 성장 모형, 단순 Logistic 모형, Gompertz 모형, 확장 Bass 모형, 시간 변동 Bass 모형)을 이용한 초고속 인터넷 가입자에 대한 예측력을 비교 평가하는 데 있다. 예측모형의 추정 방법으로 비선형 회귀방정식(nonlinear regression)을 사용하여 추정의 효율성을 높였다. 예측력 비교분석 기준은 (i) 포화점에 대한 타당성 (ii) 모수에 대한 통계적 유의성 (iii) 실제치 대비 예측치에 대한 AAD 기준을 통하여 예측모형의 예측력을 비교 평가하였다. 본 연구에서 실시한 방법론에 따라 다섯 가지 통신서비스 예측모형의 예측력을 분석한 결과 가장 작은 AAD를 나타낸 예측모형은 Log-Logistic 모형으로 나타났으며, 가장 큰 AAD를 나타낸 예측모형은 단순 Logistic 모형으로 나타났다. 또한 AAD 기준에서 보면 일반적으로 많이 사용하고 있는 Gompertz 예측모형과 Bass 모형 중에서는 Gompertz 예측모형이 더 우월한 것으로 나타났다.

A Model and Algorithm for Optimizing the Location of Transit Transfer Centers (대중교통 환승센터 입지선정 모형 연구)

  • This paper deals with the passenger transfer trips counted from smart bus-card data from Seoul transit network to understand the current operational condition of the system. Objective of this study is to relocate the location of the transit transfer centers. It delivers a bi-level programing model. The upper model is a linear 0-1 binary integer program having the objective of total travel cost minimization constrained by the number of transfer centers and the total construction budget. The lower model is an user equilibrium assignment model determining the passengers' route choice according to the transfer center locations. The proposed bi-level programming model was tested in an example network. The result showed that the proposed was able to find the optimal solution.
