The objective of the thesis is to analyze a view of the world appeared in . The chapter II 'humanism healing to distort the existence' discussed humanism to be contributive to reviving the original form. Haku's love for wandering Chihiro, Chihiro's love for Haku who is physically and mentally distressed, as he changed to the dragon, and Chihiro's love for her mother and father who the Yubaba transformed into pigs show humanism given without qualification. The chapter III 'asceticism oriented coexistence' discussed asceticism contributive to public order. Chihiro's father and mother transformed into pigs, Yubaba exploiting workers, and Gaonasi eating away in sight show harmful consequences of intense desire. On the contrary to this, a naive Chihiro and a simple Jeniva show benefit of asceticism. The chapter IV 'thought of life regretting modern civilization' discussed thought of life reflecting on contradiction of capitalism. The Stink God character asked to thorough reconsider about modern civilization. Haku leaved his home, river, instructs the important of nature and life.

This study, by analyzing two recent television dramas, attempts to identify the ways how popular cultural texts deal with supernatural beings and to discuss political meanings of the ways in the context of neoliberal Korea. The results are: (1) The narratives make a clear line between the supernatural and the ordinary. (2) The supernatural is effectively used in the narratives to extend the boundary of conflict structure towards structural social problems that the society is now facing. (3) When the text resolving the conflicts, the supernatural is also critical, which makes the whle narrative in line with fantasy rather than reality. These results suggest that the conclusion of the previous studies, arguing the use of the supernatural by popular cultural texts tends to function as a form of resistance against neoliberal discourse structure, needs to be negotiated. It is also reaffirmed that we need to explain political meanings of popular cultural texts dealing with supernatural beings, with its double-sided and ambivalent effects.

Ambidextrous innovation is defined as the innovation capacity to pursue simultaneously both exploration and exploitation. Based on the organization learning and innovation management literature, the ambidexterity hypothesis predicts that ambidextrous innovation would enhance firm performance. This study attempts to verify the ambidexterity hypothesis in the context of TV drama production industry. TV drama producers' ambidextrous innovation is conceptualized as the simultaneous pursuit of exploratory and exploitative approaches in selecting genres of dramas. Data collected from 57 drama producers in 714 Korean TV drama projects between 1994 and 2009 support the ambidextrous hypothesis. The interaction between exploratory and exploitative approaches in genre selection is indeed positively related to the drama performance in terms of the viewing rate. Such results suggest that managers ought to manage high levels of both exploratory and exploitative innovation simultaneously in order to cope with increasing uncertainty, especially in highly uncertain cultural industry.

A vapor explosion has been a concern in nuclear reactor safety due to its potential for a destructive mechanical energy release. In order to properly assess the hazard of a vapor explosion, it is necessary to accurately estimate the conversion efficiency of the thermal energy to mechanical energy. In the absence of a complete model to determine the explosive energy yield, one may have to rely on a simpler upper bound estimate such as a thermodynamic model. This paper discusses various thermodynamic models and presents a clarification of each model in their mathematical formulation and the thermodynamic work conversion. It is shown that the work release in the shock adiabatic model of Board and Hall is essentially equal to that of Hicks-Menzies thermodynamic model. The effect of coolant void fraction on the explosion efficiency is also predicted based on these thermodynamic models. Finally, the Hicks-Menzies model is modified to account for the chemical reaction between a metallic fuel and water and the resultant effects on the explosion expansion work are discussed.

This study aims to analyze typographic expressions used in recent fashion trends from the perspective of conceptual art and thus identify a variety of meanings. Towards this end, theoretical considerations were made vis-à-vis the main concepts of research, such as typography and conceptual art, and the ready-made, documentation, intervention and language, which are the expressive features of conceptual art, were applied to fashion typography as analytical frameworks. The results are as follows. The ready-made appears in a way that borrows or transforms the visual identity of other brands, and documentation is utilized in a way that lays tautological or contradictory texts together. Intervention arises, while leading to more complex layers of meaning when borrowing the visual identity of the brand, which is conceptually irrelevant. The language is expressed as statements about contemporary social issues, such as environmental protection, ethical consumption and gender problems. Based on the findings of this study, it can be confirmed that in fashion design, typography serves as an effective marketing tool and a medium of social statements. Moreover, it can expand into the possibility of generating new meanings as a novel way of visual expression.

This study was conducted with two science classes of the 8th grade students in Seoul during 4 weeks. The numbers of students in the classes were 37 and 38, and they were taught for 12 class hours. Questions obtained for 12 class hours from 75 students were analyzed and grouped into patterns. All together 1.108 questions from the students were classified into six categories: 'No Connection' (7%). 'Contradiction' (3%), 'Recall' (23%), 'Reframe' (40%), 'Application' (18%), and 'Extension' (9%). Irrelevant questions to learning and questions of false proposition were classified into 'No Connection' and 'Contradiction', respectively. Questions repeating what were already explained were grouped into 'Recall'. Those requiring other examples and/or additional explanations were grouped into 'Reframe'. Those requiring practical applications and/or explanations for other concrete facts were grouped into 'Application'. Finally. Questions for higher and/or other concepts were grouped into 'Extension'. We also discussed educational implications of the above categorized questions in this study.

With the awareness that the world market of animation industry is large enough to be concerned as our next generation industry and worthy enough to invest our resources, many animated films have been made and are still being made in these days. These animated films are no more a OEM based production that Korean animation industry have depended on for a long time. This is very positive situation we make our own animated films from plaining to final output. Nevertheless one thing we should aware here is these animations are behind in quality and contents compared to those in advanced country. There should be many reasons in this matter, but the most fundmental problem that the Korean animation industry is facing is lack of its central force like Walt Disney in United States. This study will research the problems of our animation production system and show alternative plans by comparing and analyzing those in advanced country.

The purpose of this study is to explore the Iranian Woman Film Director Samira Makhmalbaf and her cinema world. Samira represents Iranian Islamic social problem base on her woman identity, and She is a symbolic director who is working Iranian new wave at the 21th. She has directed five movies as (1998), (2000), (2002), (2003), (2008). For this study, explore traits of esthetics, subject and context meaning by analyzing representative three movies. Lastly examines significance of his movies in Iranian film history. In terms of esthetics, she tends to combinate between metaphor and reality, And, In thematic consciousness, consistently describes Islamic women's lives and liberty, anti-war and peace, sympathy for the under-privileged, etc. She inherits the tradition of Iranian third wave 'Children Cinema', and simultaneously tries to overcome Iranian art film tradition. Director Samira Makhmalbaf is a symbol of progress and change in Iranian film history, and is opening the new future of Iranian film.

We investigate, in the viewpoint of mathematical stability, the validity of the time-strain separability hypothesis employed in polymer viscoelasticity on the basis of experimental results. There have been suggested two distinct stability criteria such as Hadamard related to quick response and dissipative stability conditions, and in the limit of high deformation rate we have proved that separable constitutive equations are either Hadamard or dissipative unstable. The fact that the separability is not valid in the short time region in stress relaxation experiments exactly coincides with the results of our analysis. Therefore, since the application of the separability hypothesis incurs thermodynamic inconsistency as well as mathematical instability, such application should be avoided in the formulation of constitutive equations. In addition, careful attention should be paid to the limit of its validity even in experiments. It is also proved that there is neither theoretical nor physical validity of using the damping function.

This work presents a study on the design of an economic service robot hand for tele-presence manipulators. The conceptual design of new robot hand is derived from biomimetics approach. Guided by the analysis of human arm' musculoskeletal structure, the fingers are actuated by cables and actuators in the forearm. High tension in the cables is achieved by screw-nut mechanism driven by DC motors. A set of combination springs is incorporated in each of the screw-nut mechanism for easy control of gripping force. The first prototype revealed difficulties with finger control and coupling problem between gripping force and wrist movement. The solutions to these problems have been derived from the contradiction analysis of TRIZ. The second design has been verified by tests on various objects with different weight and shape for full range of wrist motion.
