A Case Study on the Design of Pickup Truck Tuning Equipment according to the Lifestyle of Modern People (현대인의 라이프스타일에 따른 픽업트럭 튜닝 용품 디자인 사례 연구)

  • Changes in consumer needs and behaviors according to lifestyle changes lead to consumption culture, affecting the automobile market. However, research and research to provide options tailored to the lifestyle of consumers in related markets are still insufficient. Focusing on pickup truck accessories applied to pickup trucks that reflect lifestyle the most among vehicle types, this study first examined the theoretical background of the aftermarket market and lifestyle of pickup trucks. Second, through image mapping, the market possibilities and opportunity factors of pickup trucks were discovered through market size analysis and possibilities, and through this, user types could be classified. Third, interviews were conducted with those representing user types, the contents were organized, and interviews were conducted centering on related groups to create a persona of a user group, and what needs each group's persona wanted. Finally, a design concept suitable for the issue keywords and insights derived for each user lifestyle type was presented. In this study, the user type was divided into ① outdoor activity type, ② hobby activity type, and ③ small-scale work type, and a design case study was conducted by applying the concept suitable for the keyword for each group. For the outdoor activity type, a variable storage structure and a living space-type accessory design were presented, and for the hobby type, a modular decktop design and a sports coupe-type hardtop design were presented. For the small business type, a partition that is easy to fix the load and a stepper design that is easy to board the cargo box were presented. It is expected that the size of the pickup truck aftermarket will be expanded by diversifying the option designs that users want by lifestyle by applying them to the development of pickup truck accessories that fit the lifestyle of pickup truck users in the automobile market, which is currently mass customized.

  • This paper presents an investigation into the development of a fabric electronics based smart bag for festival users of the 2029 generation with customizable tech flaps (music media control/ LED animated graphic functions) based on the application of traditional Korean patterns and goblin patterns in an electric circuit. The investigator took into consideration functional and design strategies to enable custom service according to users' tastes and situations. Based on these considerations, a customizable smart bag platform was proposed in a detachable module based on a computer embroidery machine. The study is significant in that it developed a product that is different from the old PCB smart products in hard form and proposed a new business model.

Hardware Design with Efficient Pipelining for High-throughput AES (높은 처리량을 가지는 AES를 위한 효율적인 파이프라인을 적용한 하드웨어 설계)

  • IoT technology poses a lot of security threats. Various algorithms are thus employed in ensuring security of transactions between IoT devices. Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) has gained huge popularity among many other symmetric key algorithms due to its robustness till date. This paper presents a hardware based implementation of the AES algorithm. We present a four-stage pipelined architecture of the encryption and key generation. This method allowed a total plain text size of 512 bits to be encrypted in 46 cycles. The proposed hardware design achieved a maximum frequency of 1.18GHz yielding a throughput of 13Gbps and 800MHz yielding a throughput of 8.9Gbps on the 65nm and 180nm processes respectively.

  • The flow of a universal system-level design methodology consists of system specification, system-level hardware/software partitioning, co-design, co-verification using virtual or physical prototype, and system integration. In the developing process of a hardware component in system, the design phase has been regarded as a phase consuming lots of time and cost. However, the verification phase in which functionality of the designed component is verified has recently been considered as a much important phase. In this paper, the implementation of a verification environment which is based on SystemC infrastructure and verifies the functionality of a hardware component is described. The proposed verification system uses SystemC user-defined channel as communication interface between variables of SystemC module and registers of Verilog module. The functional verification of an UART is performed on the proposed verification system. SystemC provides class library for hardware modeling and has an advantage of being able to design a system consisting hardware and software in higher abstraction level than register transfer level. Source codes of SystemC modules are reusable with a minor adaptation on verifying functionality of another hardware component.

  • Human emotion is the issue which is subjective, difficult to define and even more difficult to measure because it's personal. In general, the methods for measuring human emotion is divided in two, one is the psychological way based on user's subjective evaluation and another is the physiological way based on physiological signs. However, these methods have some limitations. Therefore, in this study we suggested the methods for measuring users emotion in the natural and accessible environment for the design field. In order to observe user's emotional changes while they interact with a product, we have extracted some emotional words and representative emotions, and made a set of subjective evaluation scales. With these scales, emotion logging program 'VideoTAME' was developed as an effective measurement tool for complementing the current psychological methods. In the testing module of 'VdeoTAME,' participants evaluate their emotional changes through playing and watching the video dips of their performing tasks in the experiment room. In the analyzing module, the researchers replay the results created by participants during the experiment and analyze the results using Microsoft Exel. It is hoped that this study will be of great help for designers for effective measurement of user's emotions naturally expressed while using a product.

Also, construct database about model and material image and embodied system that can confirm Mapping result by real time. And propose clothes simulation system to dress to 3D human body model of imagination because using several cloth pieces first by process to do so that can do simulation dressing abstracted poetic theme width to 3D model here. Proposed system creates 3D model who put clothes by physical simulation that do fetters to mass-spring model after read 3D human body model file and 2D foundation pattern file. System of this treatise examines collision between triangle that compose human body model for realistic simulation and triangle that compose clothes and achieved reaction processing. Because number of triangle to compose human body is very much, this collision examination and reaction processing need much times. To solve this problem, treatise that see could create realistic picture by method to diminish collision public prosecutor and reaction processing number, and could dress clothes to imagination human body model within water plant taking advantage of Octree space sharing techniques.

  • The existing EMTP(Electromagnetic Transients Program) is writted by FORTRAN-77, has a closed architecture and uses a large number of code lines to satisfy requirements ranging from low level data manipulation to the actual solution mathematics which eventually become diluted and almost impossible to visualize. Thus has a difficulty in the development and maintenenace of its program module. This paper proposes a new design idea suitable (or a re-development of EMTP using the MATLAB and VISUAL-C++, which presents the development of the new EMTP package is operated in the window environment. The package has the GUI(Graphic User Interface) ability, and the MATLAB computation engine for an analysis of a transient state in an electric circuit.

  • Strip layout design in progressive die is an important factor that determines the applicability of mass production. In this study, the layout design of bracket strips used fer automobiles was executed. The strip layout design was made in 3D with the use of Cimatron die design, an automation module rather than a 3D modeling module. Blank layout has been optimized through a layer arrangement of the wide run positioning inside carrier (double-row and two-pass type). The 3D CAD/CAM software used was Cimatron Die Design; the strip layout design was completed in ten processes.

  • To improve the dCollection system, it is suggested that the usability tests of the dCollection system are needed to find out whether submitters or IR managers are satisfied with the system or not. For the usability evaluations, we used sixty participants, thirty for its management module and thirty for its submit and retrieval modules and for its test constructed the five evaluation indicators including architectural/visual clarity and effectiveness. Based on the results of the usability tests, some improvements in terms of supportiveness, usefulness and visual clarity were suggested.

  • In order to overcome the difficulties of programming education for beginners, various research strategies such as UMC(Use-Modify-Create), design based learning, discovery learning and play learning are applied. In this study, we developed a HVC(History-VR Coding-Collaboration) learning strategy model for the improvement of learner's computational thinking. The HVC model is composed of a combination module of block type. We developed a 12th session storytelling - based virtual reality programming curriculum. As a result, HVC model and SW education program showed significant difference in improvement of learner's computational thinking.
