As contemplative education has been increasingly incorporated in schools in the US, this study aims to review literature on contemplative education for teachers and students in the US and to explore pedagogical meanings of meditation. I focus my analysis on research journals that include teacher and/or student participants incorporating mindfulness in school settings. I searched "mindfulness" and "education" through Web of Science and explored organizations or associations related to contemplative practices and education. I then analyzed the subjects on research purpose, research methods, and results. In the results, quantitative research on teachers' stress reduction dominated the research on contemplative education and quantitative research on teachers' efficacy and effectiveness with mindfulness followed. Contemplative research for students focused on their stress reduction and cognitive, social, and emotional development. Contemplative education should be involved in educational settings as pedagogical contents for improving teaching and learning. Contemplative education for students should aim to conduct whole-person education and should incorporate a variety of teaching skills and materials using different contemplative practices, including mindfulness, concentration, compassion, yoga, etc. Teachers' support for and positive relationships with their students through mindfulness and compassion meditation is the most important key to encourage students' learning in education.

This study is a comparative descriptive research that identifies the degree and difference of the brain education meditation program from participation stress(physical stress, psychological stress), depression, resilience(self-control ability, interpersonal relationship ability, and positive) for middle-aged women. The subjects were 26 middle-aged women who participated in the brain education meditation program at the D metropolitan city D center for more than a year, 29 middle-aged women did not participate in the brain education meditation program and a total of 55 middle-aged women collected for three weeks from November 4 to 22, 2019. Data analysis fesult that the participating groups in brain education meditation programs differ statistically significantly in physical stress(t=2.549, p=.014), psychological stress(t=2.352, p=.022), self-control ability(t=-2.219, p=.031) and positive(t=-2.387, p=.021), which are higher factors in resilience than non-participating groups. In other words, brain education meditation program participants scored lower physical and psychological stress scores than nonparticipating groups, with higher self-control ability and positive scores. Therefore, it is thought that brain education meditation programs can be used as nursing intervention to reduce stress and improve self-control ability and positive in middle-aged women.

Second, is the Brain Education Meditation Program effective in improving the academic self-efficacy of elementary school students? Third, is there any positive correlation between the Self-Regulated learning ability and the academic self-efficacy of elementary school students? The data analysis results showed as follows: The Program thereby changes the self-regulated learning ability of the students. Second, it has improved the self-confidence, which is a sublevel factor of academic self-efficacy, of the elementary school students who participated in the Brain Education Meditation Program. The purpose of this research was to present the basic data for developing meditation programs by verifying the effect size using meta-analysis of the results from previous studies on meditation program of the elderly. In order to analyze the effect sizes of program types, group of mediating variables and activity factors of elderly meditation programs, this study reviewed 24 precedent research that have been conducted from 2003 through April 2017 in Korea using meta-analysis and summarized the effect sizes are as follows. First, the overall average effect size was .914, which was great. Among the program types, complex meditation was 1.726, which was the greatest. Among the group of mediating variables, the positive psychological variable group had the highest in 1.368 and the gender consists only of women had the highest in .921. Secondly, concerning the activity factors, when the total number of sessions was 12~20 times(1.193), sessions per week was twice(1.254), time went for 110~120 minutes per session(1.581) and the group size was 71~100 persons(1.535) that were shown as higher effect size. Among the types of publications, articles in journals(1.062) had a higher effect size than dissertations(.817). For the organizing elderly meditation program in the future, I suggest that the program type of complex meditation, 12~20 time of total sessions, twice a week, 110~120 minutes of activity hours. At the time we entered the aged society, this study is meaningful in that it provides the basic data for future program development by confirming the effect size according to program types, mediation variables and activity factors for the meditation program performed for the elderly.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of Maum meditation on anxiety, self-esteem and self-actualization of teachers and this is a one-group pretest-posttest design study. Three times of surveys were carried out for seven nights and eight days including July 25 - August 1, August 1 - 8, 2009 and January 2 - 9, 2010. Before and after Maum meditation, 108 teachers in the faculty training filled out the structured questionnaire. The data were analyzed by SPSS WIN 12.0. The results showed that there was a significant difference in self-esteem of the teachers between before and after Maum meditation(p=.001). The self-actualization of the teachers was also found to be significant before and after the meditation(p=.002). Maum meditation decreased the teachers' anxiety level and improved considerably the self-esteem and self-actualization level. So it is necessary to develop the self-concept questionnaire that can support the mental health promotion intervention program.
The main purpose of this study is to study the effect of a program to improve self-esteem and positive thinking in middle-aged women using Buddha Ball meditation. In order to achieve this research purpose, the subject of this study was middle-aged female Buddhists at Temple H in Busan who were interested in 'Buddha Ball'. For the analysis method, empirical analysis was performed using the One Group Pretest-Posttest Design of this study. The main research results are as follows. First, as a result of examining the effect of Buddha Ball meditation on the quality of life, it could be seen that the overall quality of life had a significant positive (+) effect on the experimental group. Second, as a result of examining the effect of Buddha Ball meditation on self-esteem, it could be seen that self-esteem had a significant positive (+) effect on the experimental group. Third, as a result of examining the effect of Buddha Ball meditation on positive thinking, it could be seen that the entire positive thinking had a significant positive (+) effect on the experimental group. Based on these research results, the main conclusion was that the Buddha Ball, a healing meditation tool using the sound wave energy, had a positive effect on the self-esteem and quality of life of middle-aged women Buddhists. Accordingly, it is judged that the Buddha Ball meditation program has a positive use value for middle-aged women who are experiencing more complex psychological difficulties due to individual, family, and social environmental conditions. In addition, by preparing a system that can actively utilize the Buddha Ball meditation program educationally and politically, the implications of the justification and necessity of using it to improve the self-esteem, positive thinking and quality of life of middle-aged women were presented.
This article is to advance the connection between students' achievements and meditation and to explore the direct relationship between two factors by performing meditation in class, which has not been researched. As a result of study, I am convinced that meditation has a positive relation with achievements and many further experiments and researches (This article suggested many kinds of meditation.) will surely confirm this fact.
Concentration is one of the most important factor in learning ability. It is important to improve concentration for learning ability. Most digital kids have been accustomed to addictive media like games since childhood, so traditional methods of teaching and learning has been difficult to give interests for them. Therefore introducing a new teaching methods was inevitable for students with low concentration. This is an experiment to prove the hypothesis that the concentration training by certain serious game would be helpful for improving students' concentration. Not only some serious games but also meditation by music was effective to improve concentration in the experiment. Average people is hard to immerge in meditation. but some serious games involve fun factors like curiosity, challenges, competitions and rewards. Games are not more negative to young people, will be helpful to society in various forms.
