  • This paper deals with analysis of d, q-axis inductance and experimental validation of interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM). Using AC standstill test, d, q-axis inductances are obtained in each current value. In these results are compared and analyzed with 2-d finite element analysis (FEA) to validate this paper.

  • There are various ways of optimizing rotor design of Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors(IPMSM). In this paper, the best optimized design value was found by varying the Bridge thickness of PM in the rotor and changing Rib. The set design values were torque, 5 harmonics, 7 harmonics, and safety factor. Also, in order to make practical design value easily and quickly for optimization, Box-Behnken of Response Surface Method(RSM) method was used. Therefore, IPMSM resulted an optimized design model with high torque, low harmonics, and constant value of safety factor.

  • 하이브리드 자동차의 Integrated Starter & Generator (ISG)는 기동 시 높은 토크를 발생시키면서 진동과 소음을 동반한다. 이러한 진동 및 소음은 차량의 품질 확보를 위하여 최소화 시켜야 할 필요가 있다. 본 논문에서는 매입형 영구자석 동기 전동기로 설계된 ISG의 진동 및 소음 저감에 관한 연구에 대하여 다룬다. ISG의 진동 및 소음 저감을 위하여 회전자 코어의 형상 최적설계, 슬롯 수 변경설계 그리고 회전자의 step skew를 적용시켜 각각의 설계방법이 ISG의 진동 및 소음에 미치는 영향을 해석과 실험을 통해 검증하였다.

  • This paper deals with d-q axis equivalent circuit analysis of IPMSM(Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors) considering voltage harmonics. In the field weakening region, as the current vector angle increased, back-emf contains large harmonics, therefore, significant underestimation of voltage or overestimation of speed can be occurred from the conventional d-q axis equivalent circuit analysis. In order to consider the effects of voltage harmonics, a harmonic coefficient is introduced and verified by experiments.

  • Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (IPMSM) produces two kind of torque that Magnetic and Reluctance torque. The permanent magnet linkage flux and d-axis and q-axis inductances have an important influence on the torque characteristic of IPMSM. Thus their accurate prediction is essential for predicting performance aspect such as the torque and flux-weakening capabilities. In this paper, is calculated by LC resonance method with FEM. The results are validated by comparison the calculated by another method.

  • Recently study on components for a electric golf car and a utility car driven by a electric motor has been performed actively, and the study on a drive motor, a inverter and a battery focuses on a small, light weight and high power density source to improve fuel efficiency using limited electric energy. Especially, since a utility car such as a golf car performance depends on initial acceleration and maximum speed capability, a drive system requires high power and large and wide operation area, This study therefore investigates on the interior permanent magnet synchronous motor with high power density and wide operation, and is verified with the test result after design and characteristic analysis is performed.

  • Recently, the study of sensorless drive of IPMSM is coming to be active. In sensorless drive, because the wrong estimation of the initial rotor position brings about the decrease of the starting torque, or a temporary reverse revolution, it is important to know the exact importation of the initial rotor position. In this paper, the initial rotor position estimation method is based on the current peak measured by applying the pulsewise voltage and the current peak is changed according to the rotor position owing to the saliency of the rotor. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is verified by the experimental results.

  • This paper deals with the characteristic analysis & optimum design of Permanent Magnet Assisted Synchronous Reluctance Motor(PMASynRM) for Premium Efficiency Performance. The focus of this paper is characteristic analysis of d and q-axis inductances and torque according to magnetizing quantity of interior permanent magnet for PMASynRM. The d and q-axis current component ratios, load angles of a PMASynRM are investigated quantitatively on the basis of the proposed analysis method and the experimental test. Comparisons are given with output characteristic curves of normal SynRM and those according to the load in PMASynRM, respectively. And optimum design of PMASynRM is performed by Response Surface Methodology(RSM).

  • An interior permanent magnet synchronous motors (IPMSM) are receiving increased attention for many industrial applications because of its high torque to inertia ratio, superior power density, and high efficiency. This paper presents algorithm for speed sensorless control based on an adaptive binary observer adding the fuzzy gain compensator. Effectiveness of algorithm is confirmed by the experiments.

  • This paper presents a design notch to reduce cogging torque of interior type permanent magnet motor. As design notch on rotor of IPM motor, magnetic field from between rotor and teeth of state is changed. By reason of variation magnetic field, cogging torque is generated. Through Fourier formulation of magnetic field on rotor, we found position of notch and manufactured armature that is designed by optimizing analysis. The validity of the proposed design is confirmed with experiments.
