  • This Quasi-experimental study was started under the assumption that the stress of students who participated in Buddhism and Mind Healing Lectures based on an understanding of the scriptures will be relieved through the lectures, thereby enhancing their psychological stability, thinking ability, and enhancing understanding. Stress can be confirmed through a self-report test, but in this study, quantitative EEG was measured to evaluate the stress level and secure objectivity. To this end, the difference between the 1st week as pre and 15th week as post quantitative EEG was verified for the experimental group taking the Buddhism and Mind Healing Lecture held from March to June 2019 at S University in G-gu, Seoul, and the control group who did not. The Mann Whitney U test and Wilcoxon code ranking test were used as analysis methods because the number of subjects was 14. As a result, there was a significant difference in the beta wave (F7, T3, 4, T5) and the high beta wave (F7, F8, T3, T4) in the experimental group. The coherence was also improved, while there was no significant difference in the control group. Buddhism and Mind Healing Lectures improved stress.

  • Fools usually make people laugh through their comic appearances and foolish behaviors. A fool in King Lear also gives us pleasure by his unique jokes and humors, however, he is not so foolish. He is very wise and has the intuition to penetrate people's mind and understands the facts. He predicts the future, criticizes the untrueness and heals the wounded mind. He always keeps Lear company and makes him realize his own foolishness. After getting out of his own suffering and fear, Lear experiences his healing process of purification with the help of the fool. In this respect, the fool in King Lear is a wise helper and healer for King Lear.

In the question of the Bio, 50% of the students said they understood their body, mind, and will and acted accordingly, but 20% of the students showed that their actions according to their body, mind, and will did not fit. In the question of Psycho, more than 50% of students said they communicated well with their inner selves, but less than 20% of students did not. In the question of Sozio of life, more than 60% of students form a social network well, but about 10% of students have very low attitudes or meanings toward life. • This paper examines how Dasan Jeong Yak-yong developed self-healing and his perspective of happiness during the hardest point of his political and social career. Just after the death of King Jeongjo (正祖, reign. 1766-1800) the arrest and persecution of those who accepted Christian knowledge from the West began. Among them were Jeong's family members and friends. Jeong, who had learned but had not accepted Christianity as a religious belief, was exiled to Ganggin 康津 in southern Jeolla Province where he was to spend the next 18 years. The two things that helped Jeong through his exile were the Book of Changes 易經 and his commitment to the study of Confucian thought, political, and social reforms. His life-long commitment to writing and his progressive understanding of the principle of changes of the universe in the Book of Changes, represented processes of self-healing and cultivation, depriving Jeong of self-pity and enabling him to attain the highest level in self-realization. According to Jeong, there are two kinds of happiness; "secular happiness" (yeolbok 熱福) related to power and wealth, and "pure happiness" (cheongbok 淸福), a free and idyllic life. For Jeong, the latter was more valuable than the former. Jeong believed that life pursing ethical virtues only could bring authentic joy to people. Furthermore, his devotion to the issues of systematic, social reforms was out of his desire to bring the public happiness by "practical learning", silhak 實學.
