  • This study proposes FREES(Fuzzy Risk Evaluation Expert System) for analyzing and evaluating risks occurring during the construction process. The feasibility of this system model was tested by virtual scenario. For the development of the model, at first, risk breakdown structure was established based on risks identified in the existing researches, that is quantitative and qualitative. FREES can reflect human cognition process in the risk analysis and evaluation by adopting artificial intelligence fuzzy theory, differentiating the existing quantitative analysis model. The FREES can be applied to all the project phases from planning to operation & maintenance stage.

  • The potential risks, involved with the management of a library, may cause a tremendous economic loss, so require a systematic management. The rist management process, consisting of risk identification, risk measurement selection of risk treatment methods, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation, suggests the use of insurance to deal with property risks, liability risks and personnel risks. For the systematic risk management of a library, risk manager should be appointed to be responsible for program development and insurance purchase. The limited coverage of library risks, provided by the school cooperative society, should be supplemented through development of insurance products. Further study is required to improve the library risk management and the application of insurance in a systematic and realistic way.

  • This study introduces $M_{(i,j,k)}BCP$ (Mining Business Continuity Planning) which is the smart management system of mine disasters to achieve the safe and eco-friendly mining. Where, 'i' is mine kinds, 'j' is mining processes, and 'k' is risks at process respectively. By specifically setting 'i=1=limestone mine', this study also suggests that $M_{(i,j,k)}BCP$ is the smart management system of limestone mine. Mining risks used in this study were obtained from professional survey and literature review. This study classified these risks by five different mining processes and reduced risk numbers approximately 60 to 26. And they were all allocated into $M_{(i,j,k)}BCP$ and assessed. To do assess risks, this study used four risk indexes which are probability, casualty, facility loss, and discontinuity respectively. By the results of the assessment of risks, results could be four specific groups based on their causes and impacts. In addition, one of the results showed that the most possible risks at limestone mine was the roof-fall and rock-fall in digging process. This result means that $M_{(1,2,1)}BCP$ should be established as a first priority at limestone mine.

  • A variety of risks caused by natural, technological and biological hazards threaten a business continuity of an organization. Business continuity is very important issue for all organizations and its proper management may control success and failure of an organization. Business continuity plan (BCP) may be defined as a management process which provides a business continuity. BCP includes risk management, operational continuity plan, response/ recovery, exercise/study and crisis communication, etc. Risk management is a systematic method to identify, analyze, evaluate and treat emergency risks and risk assessment is composed of identifying, analyzing and evaluating emergency risks. Risk assesment is the first step for making BCP. In this study, risk assessment has been conducted for sewer laying project. Through assessing risks, 18 risks that may threaten the construction operation are identified and it is founded to be that high levels of risks which require treatment are 'collapse of excavation surface', 'breakage of ground infra-facilities', 'noise & dust dispersion' and 'rise of material costs'.

  • Researches on method for quantitative analysis applied with decision-making in consideration of variation in risk factors based on GIS(Geographic Information System) concluded as follows. Firstly, by way of decision-making in consideration of variation in risk factors, quantitative analysis performed for the existing route was applied to the new route, which would bring about reliable criteria in route planning and basic design stage. Secondly, horizontal and vertical alignment were easily available out of GIS for relatively speedy design and analysis with three dimensional alignment by decision-making in route planning. Thirdly, automation of route alignment is possible by utilizing quantitative evaluation system established in this research so that a risk analysis can be carried out in a relatively short time. Therefore it will eventually contribute to further development of road design technology.

  • This study presented a cybersecurity risk management system in a smart factory environment. A smart factory refers to a factory that optimizes the production system and increases efficiency. However, this digitized environment is vulnerable to cyber attacks, and manufacturing companies can suffer serious damage from disruptions in production systems or information leaks. Therefore, a systematic approach to effectively managing cyber security risks is essential in smart factories. In this study, a continuous security risk management system for each stage of the smart factory was proposed along with business process-based security risk assessment. These studies will help to further improve cybersecurity risk management in smart factories. It will also play an important role in ensuring that smart factories operate safely and efficiently.

  • Construction industry is a complex industry which should be invested with plenty capital, manpower and resources. Investment factors and inner and outer environmental factors should be managed systemically in terms with risk factors possible to occur. It maximizes the profit to establish construction management by managing risk systemically. While previous studies were executed with risk related to some special progress lively, studies about risk in managing construction company leave much to be desired. Therefore, this study examined risk in the whole construction management, showed the checklist and deduced the quantitative factors through questionnaire analysis from specialists. Also, priority and grade of construction management factors were evaluated by analyzing weight of construction risk factors.

  • u-City projects are different with the existing urban development projects progress via convergence with IT technology. Therefore, it inheres many risk factors more than the existing development projects as including more complexity and variety. The risk management system to systematically manage those risks which get identified and quantified is required. Especially, the planning phase that is appeared the various forms has a large effect on the success of the business. However, the management of risk factors remains in the passive form. So the problems on u-City project in the planning phase and risk factors of existing development business were analyzed for the continuous growth and the successful performance of u-City project, and those risk factors was identified and quantified by using statistical technique. In the results of it, the core risk factors were obtained through which way and the basis for the effective risk management in u-City business is provided.

  • In the construction industry, risk management has gained constant attention as the factor not only to evaluate global competitiveness of the country but also to secure competitiveness of public institutions and private companies. For effective construction risk management, the specific work process improvement that can be employed in the field in terms of risk management of the entire corporation such as financial, insurance and safety management is necessary. To manage construction risks, what is important is the step to identifying inherent risks in the construction project. The identification of risks will be followed by the step to seeking ways to establish and manage strategies responding to the risks. This study suggests ways and processes to make a checkslit to identify risks through case studies. To that end, the focus will be placed on working process improvement of risk identification among stages to manage construction risks such as risk identification and analyses, planning to respond to risks, risk monitoring and management. The case study checklists show that setting up the system to classify risks by stage is helpful to figure out causes of risks to reduce or eliminate risk factors. The checklist making process that considers features of the project is expected to contribute to successful completion of the project by enabling effective risk identification and systematic risk management.
