Figure that make image contents of movie, animation, game etc. by base is one of representative industry of OSMU (One Source Multi Use). Figure that is culturally continuous as industrial while is growing scientific study that is lacking in many way consider. With amusement to the center as a preceding study about this and offered preceding research about theories that several scholars advocate, and divide into commerce, industry, imagination and amusement about characteristics of figure based on image contents and investigated. Investigated amusement characteristics of figure that is center of this study because do comparative analysis with insistence of Roger Caillois- Agon, Alea, Mimicry, Ilinks that classify to meaning that is four amusement characteristics competitions, fortune, conspiracy, dizziness - that is representative scholar of play theory and France's thinker. According to this study, we can know that there is close connection with amusement characteristics of four plays that Roger Caillois advocates in amusements of figure.
The purpose of this study is to find out how the evolution of digital play in virtualization and digital play tools are combined with and stereotyping the properties of traditional play. Virtualization characteristics and play theory were examined and the case was derived in four types and analyzed in four play properties with Roser Cailliois. In the case of Agon, the targets of mutual competition are expanded to singular and plural, computer and oneself of the future, and Mimicry showed the ambiguity of the segments and boundaries crossing the on-off line boundary, and in the case of Alea, the diversity of accident occurrence by immediacy and simultaneity has been strengthened, and in the case of Ilinx, the maximization of immersion has been developed and experimented with a variety of techniques for the utilization of senses and tools and the virtuality for this. As a result, play is developing due to the tendency to expand and coexist in time and space by various fusion combinations.
The purpose of this study is to find out whether changed interactions due to reformatting has a significant effect on the play attribute of children's play from an instrumental point of view. Based on the study of Roser Caillois theory of play (Agon, Mimicry, Area, Ilinx) and previous studies, a questionnaire was written and experimental design was carried out through brick stack which are most preferred in the whole development of children. Brick stack were selected from physical and electronic spaces and the survey was conducted with children's experiences by dividing into experimental group and comparative group. Correlation and T-test results, the brick stack by reformating showed significant difference in the play attributes (Agon, Mimicry, Area, Ilinx) of Rose Caillois and we found that the effectiveness of play is doubled in the electronic space. Play properties evenly distributed in electronic space brick stacking suggest that pleasure and fun can double.
The game industry of the Republic of Korea is being firmly located with great benefit and value. As internet developing quickly, the online game of the Republic of Korea boosted up to the level of the best in the world. Online Game has been developed with various types to make the user satisfy. Among those, MMORPG(Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) is the most popular game type. MMORPG games have getting more popularity in many foreign market but some have failed. Therefore this essay analyzes the MMORPG which has most popular through out the 4 kinds dividing in "Play and Human" by Roger Caillois. Moreover I try to analyze and experiment. Also through out the accomplishing Quest from the Goonzu which is developed and serviced in China, it experimented and it analyzed. With the help of information technology.
MMO RPG Online game as a new means of human computer interaction has been made rapid progress. Even though many kinds of online game have published, few games are being well received by its user. So we have a problem to be solved what is the fundamentals to attract game users. I will apply a game theory of the Roger Caillois who lived as an typical french thinker. Although Roger Caillois had never experienced a computer game since he died at 1978, his game theory was acknowledged that a game can be classified into four sections to grab the human's interest related with culture. Four sections of game were consisted of Ilinx, Mimicry, Alea, and Agon. The competition with people in game is essential to "Agon" that which stands on the basis of a pride when one is definitely superior to the others. In same way, "Alea" is that which stands on the basis of fortune, Mimicry is that which stands on the basis of simulation, Ilinx is that which stands on the basis of dizzy. In conclusion, I will explain that a game theory of the Roger Caillois is useful tool for deveoper to understand game fundamentals.d game fundamentals.
Game Software is the high-value industry that is based on fun elements. To develop Game Software successfully, the method for systematically classifying and searching about fun elements needs. However, fun elements of game are still made by game developers 'experience', and have ambiguities about what are considered at development phase because of difference between viewpoints and definitions about them. We structured 9 groups and 34 fun elements after that 50 fun elements elicited from existing literature are classifies and refines by statistical analysis. And we found a omitted area with the result that the classified elements are applied to Roger Callois's Theory. Finally, we elicited new elements of omitted areas from web site and searched 1 group and 4 fun elements.
This study focuses on the play aspect of the existing digital games and VR games as part of a basic research for facilitating discussion on VR games. As a method for this research, the play aspect of digital games was classified based on the play theory by Johan Huizinga and Roger Caillois, followed by examination on the play characteristics of VR games according to the established classification. As a result, VR games share a significant portion of play characteristics with digital games. Nevertheless, in VR games the player is allowed unimpeded physical activity while having the HMD on and complete disconnection from the real world via new input/output devices. In the end, the transformation of play environment results in various sensory stimulation, and in turn influences the player's experiences in areas such as presence, immersion, emotional enjoyment and satisfaction. This study is expected to serve as an important indicator for studies on the characteristics of VR contents which is certain to develop in a wide range of directions in the future.
In this study, by both qualitative and quantitative measurement on the purpose of deriving the sensitive amusement factor. I consider the fear of horror games as "the amused fear" and analyze it, which is based on the play theory by Roger Caillois. On the basis of this, I classified the amusement fear in horror games into the 4 factors. I conducted some positive tests through the player's response in order to verify them. The test is conducted measuring the heart rate of each experimenter by cardiometer while they are playing horror games. By analyzing the video data, I gave a name to the point that the amusement fear factors are expected to influence psychologically and physiologically as the fear point. At this point, I examined if the measured heart rate makes the outstanding difference or not, when compared average heart rate with experimenter's heart rate. In addition, I also examined if there is a statistical correlation of heart rate by attaching player's subjective data through the questionnaire. Consequently, it was statistically turned out that the experimenter's heart rate which is measured rose dramatically than usual, and that there are close correlations among subjective data. I also found out that the amusement fear factor at the relevant point plays a major role in experimenter's psychological and physiological response. In this study, I could prove the horror factor as a meaning of amusement factor using both theoretical method and positive method establishing a standard set that is helpful for further production and planning of the game.
This Study has limited our scope to the study of satisfaction factor. Due to the extensiveness of fun factors of games. We had identified satisfaction factors through investigating various theories based on funology. Then, we have directly applied the satisfaction factors to games in order to define the satisfaction factors of online FPS game. Then, we have applied the satisfaction factors on to four online games, at the first phase of the study. We interviewed a group of online FPS game experts to identify the constituent elements of the factors and concluded the second phase of our investigation based on the results from the first and second phases, we have conducted a survey to verify the hypothesis. We have verified the reciprocal relationship between the satisfaction factors and game popularity by conducting a multiple regression analysis on the survey results. To conclude, there is a correlation between online FPS games and the satisfaction factors; the satisfaction factors cause the users to be absorbed into the game and to enjoy it for a long period of time.
