A Leverage Strategy of the Defense Export Based on System Thinking (시스템사고를 이용한 한국 방산수출 레버리지 전략)

  • As a cutting edge technology intensive value-added business, the defense industry is jumping into a new engine of a national growth. Also, the defense industry export is recognized not only as the field to activate the Korean economy but also as an important field to create the national brand value. However, though the consensus on the importance of defense industry export helps achieve the remarkable performance in reality, the rate of increase in the budget for national defence is slowing down gradually, and the investment in R&D is not so big, and there are a lot of drawbacks with the management of core technology and the development of cutting edge weapon system. Accordingly, this thesis tried to find the leverage to make the structure of defense industry export work normally after analyzing the systematical structure of defense industry export to understand its characteristics. Also, through the process to make the leverage a strategy, the thesis tried to present the optimal direction of policy to join the ranks of the advanced countries in defense industry export.

Systematic Risk Factors Implied in the Return Dynamics of KOSPI 200 Index Options (KOSPI 200 지수(옵션)의 수익률생성과정에 내재된 체계적 위험요인)

  • We empirically investigate the option leverage property that should be priced under much more general conditions than the Black-Scholes assumptions and the option redundancy property that is based on the assumption that the underlying asset price follows a one-dimensional diffusion process and examine the systematic risk factors implied in the return dynamics of KOSPI 200 index options. We find that the option leverage pattern is similar to the theoretical result but the options are not redundant securities and in the nonlinear structure of option payoffs, the traders of KOSPI 200 index options price the systematic higher-moments and the negative volatility risk premium significantly affects delta-hedged gains, even after accounting for jump fears. But the empirical evidence on jump risk preference is less conclusive.

  • This research paper describes design procedures and those verification with multi-body dynamic analysis and an experiment for the development of an unprecedented type of canister cover, named as the separating cover. In order to overcome drawbacks from the precious rupture type and actuator driven cover, the separating cover was suggested. It has the simplest structure composed of the previously developed explosive bolt and a spring-lever driven system. First of all, mechanical feasibility with proposed design parameters based on mathematical modeling was confirmed through dynamic analysis and then its results showed good agreement with the followed empirical results acquired from a high speed camera. On top of that, a parametric study was conducted to identify the effect of each design parameter on separating performance. It is highly expected that this research contributes to provide military industries with a brand new canister cover having simplicity and cost efficiency and thus it will be very useful in MLRS(Multiple Launch Rocket System).

Fabrication of Bump-type Probe Card Using Bulk Micromachining (벌크 마이크로머시닝을 이용한 Bump형 Probe Card의 제조)

  • A probe card is one of the most important pan of test systems as testing IC(integrated circuit) chips. This work was related to bump-type silicon vertical probe card which enabled simultaneous tests for multiple semiconductor chips. The probe consists of silicon cantilever with bump tip. In order to obtain optimum size of the cantilever, the dimensions were determined by FEM(finite element method) analysis. The probe was fabricated by RIE(reactive ion etching), isotropic etching, and bulk-micromachining using SDB(silicon direct bonding) wafer. The optimum height of the bump of the probe detemimed by FEM simulation was 30um. The optimum thickness, width, and length of the cantilever were 20 $\mum$, 100 $\mum$,and 400 $\mum$,respectively. Contact resistance of the fabricated probe card measured at contact resistance testing was less than $2\Omega$. It was also confirmed that its life time was more than 20,000 contacts because there was no change of contact resistance after 20,000 contacts.

An Empirical Study on the Korean Firm's Diversification and Corporate Value Using LISREL Model (한국기업의 다각화와 기업가치에 관한 실증연구 - LISREL모형을 응용하여 -)

  • 본 연구는 LISREL모형을 이용하여 우리나라 266개 상장기업을 대상으로 기업다각화와 기업가치간의 영향관계를 분석하고, 다각화 및 기업가치 결정요인을 분석하였다. 분석결과 첫째, 90년대 초반까지는 다각화가 초과가치를 발생시켰지만, 90년대 중반 이후에는 다각화에 의한 사업운영방식이 부의 초과가치를 발생시켜 기업가치에 부정적인 영향을 미칠 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 다각화는 기업의 시장가치에 정의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타나, 시장에서는 다각화된 기업을 전문화된 기업보다 더 높게 평가하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 셋째, 기업의 다각화수준에 영향을 미치는 요인으로는 외부대주주지분을, 레버리지비율, 기업설립연수, 기업규모, 계열기업 여부 등으로 파악되었다. 90년대 초반까지는 외부대주주지분율이 높고, 기업설립연수가 오래되고, 계열기업에 속해 있고, 규모가 작은 기업의 경우 다각화수준이 낮게 나타났지만, 90년대 중반 이후에는 이와 같은 특성을 가진 기업의 다각화수준이 높아지는 것으로 분석되었다. 레버리지비율은 기업의 다각화수준과 일관되게 정의 영향관계를 보여, 차입자금을 이용하여 다각화를 추진하는 우리나라 기업의 현실적 상황을 확인할 수 있었다. 넷째, 다각화의 초과가치에 영향을 미치는 요인으로는 외부대주주지분을, 레버리지비율, 기업규모, 계열기업 여부 등으로 파악되었다. 90년대 초반에는 외부대주주지분율이 높고, 기업규모가 작고, 계열기업에 속한 기업들이 다각화를 통해 정의 초과가치를 획득할 수 있었지만, 90년대 중반 이후에는 외부대주주지분율이 낮고, 기업규모가 크고, 계열기업에 속하지 않은 기업이 다각화에 의해 초과가치를 얻을 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 레버리지는 그 비율이 높을수록 다각화의 초과가치가 크게 나타나는 것으로 분석되어, 다각화 기업이 더 많은 부채부담능력을 가질 수 있고, 부채의 세금절감효과에 의해 기업가치를 증가시킬 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.

The Effects of Ownership Structure on Capital Structure: Comparison of Listed Large Firms and SMEs in Korea (K-IFRS 도입 전후 기업의 소유구조가 자본구조에 미치는 영향: 상장 대기업과 중소기업의 비교)

  • In this study, we examined the effects of major shareholder's holdings and foreign shareholder's holdings on capital structure with the samples of listed non-financial firms in KOSPI and KOSDAQ. More specifically, we conduct the data on 7,074 large firms and 2,394 SMEs(Small-Medium Enterprises) before and after the adoption of K-IFRS from 2002 to 2019. The main results can be summarized as follows. The results indicate that the adoption of K-IFRS affects the capital structure of large firms more than SMEs. The major shareholder's holdings and the foreign shareholder's holdings of the large and SMEs listed on the KOSPI and the KOSDAQ market have a significant effect on the leverage ratio. It can be seen that major shareholders of large firms and SMEs reduce the leverage ratio by recognizing the use of debt as financial risk. In addition, it can be seen that regardless of whether or not K-IFRS is adopted, foreign shareholders recognize the use of debt as financial risk and reduce the leverage ratio in order to reduce the investment risk.

  • Nondestructive surface imaging of elastic characteristic and mechanical property has been studied on nanoscale surface with ultrasonic AFM. Resonance frequency variation of cantilever is theoretically analyzed with respect to contact mechanics as well as experimentally measured. The contact resonance frequency is calculated theoretically using the spring-mass and Herzian model in accordance with the resonance frequency of UAFM cantilever measured experimentally. Consequently, the topography and amplitude images could be obtained successfully and the elastic characteristic at the nanoscale surface was evaluated qualitatively by amplitude signals.

  • MEMS 공정을 이용하여 $SiN_x$를 지지층으로 한 $SiO_2$/Ta/PZT/Pt 의 박막 구조를 가지는 마이크로 켄틸레버를 제작하였다. 켄틸레버의 전기기계적 특성을 LDV (레이저 미소 변위 측정기)를 이용하여 측정하였으며, 이를 통해 전기기계적 거동을 분석하였다. 또한 무게 감지소자로서의 응용을 위해 Au의 증착을 통한 감도를 측정하였으며, streptavidin의 무게를 감지하기 위해 immobilization 공정을 거쳐 thiol 그룹 및 biotin을 표면에 고정화 시킨후 biotin-streptavidin 결합에 의한 전기기계적 신호 분석을 통해 생체 물질의 무게 감지 소자로의 응용을 평가하였다.
