An Edge Detector by Using Perfect Sharpening of Ramps (램프의 완전 선명화를 이용한 에지 검출기)

  • Since the usual conventional edge detectors employ the local differential derivatives, the detected edges are not uniform in their widths or some edges are missed out of the detection on magnified images. We employ a mapping from the exactly monotonic intensity distributions of ramp edges to the simple step functions of intensity, which is referred to as perfect sharpening map of ramp edges. This map is based on the non-local feature of intensity distribution and used to introduce a modified differentiation, in terms of which we can construct an efficient edge detector adaptive to the variation of edge width. By adopting the operator MADD in this paper, we developed an edge detector that works stably against the magnification of image or the variation of edge width. It is shown by comparing to the conventional algorithms that the proposed one is very excellent.

  • 레이저를 이용한 폴리머의 융착기술은, 자동차산업에서의 다양한 적용분야에 힘입어 새로운 접합기술로 각광을 받고 있다. 현재까지는, 대부분 작고 간단한 형상의 제품을 융착하는 분야에 많이 적용되어 왔으며, 튼 사이즈의 제품을 대량으로 생산하는 공정에서는 레이저융착이 가지는 다양한 장점에도 불구하고, 프로세스의 안정성, 사출후의 제품변형에 따른 갭의 관리, 작업속도등에 대한 이유로 본격적인 적용을 기피하고 있는 실정이다. 이러한 배경에 의하여 개발된 하이브리드방식(레이저빔+할로겐램프)의 폴리머융착 시스템은, 다이오드레이저에서 출력되는 $800{\sim}980nm$의 레이저파장과 할로겐 램프에서 방사되는 적외선영역의 파장을 동시에 사용함으로써 프로세스의 안장성과 융착효율을 향상시켰다.

Optimal Supersonic Diffuser Design of Integrated Rocket Ramjet Engine (IRR형 Ramjet Intake 초음속 확산부 형상 최적설계)

  • Optimal supersonic diffuser shape of integrated rocket ramjet engine was derived which maximizes the total pressure recovery. Mass flux is considered as a design constraint and the second oblique shock angle of the external ramp, the cowl-lip angle and the throat area are selected as design variables. Refined response surface method through design space transformation technique was developed and employed, and high confidence level of the regression model could be obtained. Genetic algorithm was implemented for both system optimizer and subspace regression model optimization. Virtual nozzle was located at the end of throat to adjust the back pressure. With only 20 aerodynamic analyses, optimal supersonic diffuser shape which has 14% improved total pressure recovery characteristics was successfully designed.

  • This paper reports the optical design of the MR-16 lamp series with a LED second lens and an aspherical plano-convex lens suitable for a simple and rapid injection molding fabrication method. The fabrication and performance evaluation of the MR-16 lamp series, which was designed with a narrow angular distribution of luminous intensity, were conducted to replace halogen lamps with LED lamps. Four types of LED lamps were fabricated, which have angular distributions of luminous intensity of $22.4^{\circ}$, $31.1^{\circ}$, $37.3^{\circ}$, and $59.9^{\circ}$ and luminous efficiencies of 76.5 lm/W, 75.2 lm/W, 72.0 lm/W, and 77.8 lm/W, respectively, while their spreading angles with an illuminance uniformity of 81% were $3^{\circ}$, $15^{\circ}$, $22^{\circ}$, and $49^{\circ}$, respectively. After eliminating a yellow tail of the LED lamps using a diffusion sheet, the angular distributions of the luminous intensity were measured to be $20.8^{\circ}$, $31.5^{\circ}$, $37.8^{\circ}$, and $68.7^{\circ}$.

  • The curved structures in space, such as multi-level inter-changes, ramped structures, and circular curved structures etc., are modelled as helically curved members with constant helix angle in this study. Equilibrium equations are derived, considering the geometrical properties and initial curvatures of helix. Modal equations of the simply supported helically curved members which can calculate the normalized natural frequencies are derived from these equations by assuming the modal shape function. These equations are used to calculate the normalized natural frequencies of the simply supported helically curved members and verify the distribution of the natural frequencies of them.

  • AIGaAs/InGaAs/GaAs high electron mobility transisters(HEMT)소자의 오믹 접합재료로 일반적으로 사용되고 있는 AuGeNi의 접합저항과 열적 안정성을 향상시키기 위한 새로운 접합재료에 대해 연구하였다. 이를 위해 sub/M$_{1}$Au-Ge/M$_{2}$Au의 구조에서 M$_{1}$을 Ni과 Pd, M$_{2}$를 Ni, Ti, Mo로 하였을 경우의 접합 재료에 대한 오믹 접합 특성의 변화를 조사하였다. 또한 일반 열처리로와 램프 히터를 이용한 고속 열처리에 따른 오믹 특성을 조사하였다. M$_{1}$을 Ni에서 Pd으로 대체하였을 경우 접합 저항은 약간 증가하였으며 접합 특성의 개선을 관찰되지 않았다. M$_{2}$를 Ni에서 Ti이나 Mo로 대치하였을 경우, 접합 저항은 감소하였고 열적 안정성과 접합 형상은 현저히 개선되었다. 특히 Ni/Au-Ge/Mo/Au의 접합재료는 급속 열처리에 의해 -0.1Ωmm의 극히 낮은 잡합 저항과 우수한 접합 형상을 갖는 것으로 조사되었다.

  • Load/Unload(L/UL) technology includes the benefits, that is, increased areal density, reduced power consumption and improved shock resistance contrary to contact start stop(CSS). It has been widely used in portable hard disk drive and will become the key technology for developing the small form factor hard disk drive. The main objectives of L/UL are no slider disk contact or no media damage. For realizing those, we must consider many design parameters in L/UL systems. In this paper, we focus on the effect of the ramp profile. We can find out the lateral velocities in L/UL process through experiments and simulations for force of voice coil motor and friction force on ramp. And then, we will gain the optimal design of ramp slope to maintain the minimum clearance of suspension dimple and slider with FE model. In special, after finding the point at which air bearing breaks and designing the ramp, we will identify the results for improving unload performance.
