A study on Emotional Fashion Design Using Light (빛을 활용한 감성 패션디자인 연구)

  • 현대 패션분야에서 디자이너들의 예술적 표현의 주제이자 매체로서 활용되고 있는 빛은 보다 감성지향적인 방향으로 발전되는 추세로서, 빛을 활용한 감성 패션디자인에 대한 표현 방법과 조형적 특성을 분석하는 것은 매우 의미있는 일이다. 패션디자인에서 빛을 표현하는 방법으로는 빛의 반사, 이미지 표현, 발광, 투사에 의해 독창적으로 응용되어져 표현되어 왔으며, 다양한 빛의 표현을 위해 재료의 물성을 조작함으로써 얻을 수 있는 빛의 유희, 명암이나 형태, 색채를 통한 빛의 재현, 발광물질이나 인공광에 의한 발광, 프로젝터를 통한 빛 이미지 등 다양한 표현방법이 활용되고 있었다. 빛이 활용된 감성 패션디자인의 조형적 특성으로는 상호작용성, 영상성, 투명성, 실험성으로 분류되었다. 상호작용성은 착용자의 행위에 의한 변형과 신체의 변화나 감정의 변화에 의한 불빛이나 영상 패턴이 바뀌는 등 형태나 컬러, 영상의 변형 등 착용자의 메시지 전달이나, 감정표현, 신체보호, 그리고 재미를 유발하는 효과를 자아내는 것으로 나타났다. 영상성은 디지털 이미지를 활용한 것과 내부 광원에 의한 발광성으로 분류되며, 드레스에 장착된 수많은 LED 에 의한 영상을 만들거나 이미지를 확대시키는 방법으로 표현된 영상성은 심미적인 효과가 우선시되었다. 투명성은 주로 비닐, 플라스틱, 기능적 소재 등 투명한 소재들을 이용하여 대부분 재료의 특성이 조형적 특성으로 분석되었고, 외부와의 개방성과 위장가능성의 효과를 준다거나, 투명한 재질에 이미지가 변화하는 이미지의 중첩성과 같은 효과를 나타내었다. 실험성은 새로운 실험적 도구로서의 패션을 표현하고자 할 때, '빛'을 매개체로 하여 관심을 유도하고 재미를 더해주며, 신비주의적 환상이나 호기심을 불러일으키는 효과를 나타내었다. 이처럼 빛을 활용한 패션디자인은 빛을 매개체로 하여 다양한 표현방법으로 활용이 가능하며 특유의 조형적 특성을 가지고 있음을 알 수 있었다.

  • As Fashion becomes more important in the field of fashion styling and fashion stylists' roles, there has been a strong demand for more unique and stylish fashion. Under these circumstances, the fashion stylist has upgraded the fashion industry as an expert in various fields. The fashion stylist's roles include creation of a fashion image depending on circumstances, improvement of contributionsto product awareness and advertisements by inspiring curiosity and interest from customers and promotion of purchase behaviors. In addition, the fashion stylist should be able to create appropriate attire and hairdos for models in fashion magazines depending on the theme and concept of the fashion and have keen insight, fashion sense and appropriate analyzing and planning skills to follow current trends. This study has investigatedthe field of fashion styling, which has emerged recently and fashion stylists' roles. It appears that fashion styling could develop into a high-growth, high value-added industry as a professional occupation that helps customers have an appropriate fashion sense.

An Development of Image Retrieval Model based on Image2Vec using GAN (Generative Adversarial Network를 활용한 Image2Vec기반 이미지 검색 모델 개발)

  • The most of the IR focus on the method for searching the document, so the keyword-based IR system is not able to reflect the feature information of the image. In order to overcome these limitations, we have developed a system that can search similar images based on the vector information of images, and it can search for similar images based on sketches. The proposed system uses the GAN to up sample the sketch to the image level, convert the image to the vector through the CNN, and then retrieve the similar image using the vector space model. The model was learned using fashion image and the image retrieval system was developed. As a result, the result is showed meaningful performance.

Differences in Visual Sensibility Evaluation of Basic Color Fashion Materials in Person and on Digital Screens (실물과 디지털 화면에서 베이직 컬러 패션 소재의 시각적 감각 평가 차이)

  • The perception of a fashion product may vary depending on the texture and color of its material. Additionally, the product may appear differently in person versus on a digital screen. Therefore, in the present study, we sought to investigate the differences in visual sensibility evaluation between materials in person and on digital screens. In this study, three pairs of visual sensibility adjectives were tested for 60 samples selected as fashion materials. Fashion materials were divided into colors, embossings, and visual clarity categories. Results showed that each color had the same sense during in-person and digital evaluation. In terms of visual sensibility according to embossing, both in-person and digital evaluations of materials with embossings were found to have the same visual sense, whereas those without embossings looked different between in-person and digital evaluations. Assessments based on visual classification showed that both in-person and digital evaluations had the same sensibility. This study is meaningful in suggesting that when evaluating the visual sense of fashion material, the sensation for the digital screen versus in person may be different in some cases.

  • 본 논문의 국내 패션 업체에서 상품기획 과정 중 많은 시간과 노력을 투자해야 했던 디자인 및 패턴 자료를 데이터베이스화하여 key word를 통해 효율적으로 찾아 사용할 수 있도록 한 디지털 여성 자켓 분류 데이터베이스 시스템을 개발하고자 실시되었다. 이를 위해 의류업체 종사자 48명과 의류학 전공 대학원생 54명, 패턴 전문가 11명을 대상으로 설문조사 및 인터뷰를 실시하여 디자인 및 패턴의 분류 기준과 의류 생산기획 업무의 디지털화 가능성을 검토하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 국내 의류업체에서는 상품기획시 국외패션잡지와 collection지를 가장 많이 활용하고 있었으며, 디자인 및 패턴 DB 프로그램에 대한 효용성 기대와 수용도 기대에는 집단간 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 여성 자켓 디자인 DB를 위한 구성요소 분류 기준은 7가지고 선정되었고, 이미지 형용사 분류 기준은 6가지로 선정되었다. 또한 자켓 제작을 위한 block pattern 분류 기준은 4가지로 선정되었다. 본 연구를 통해 개발된 자켓 디자인 선택 프로그램의 모델을 제시한 후 실험 참가자들에게 효용성 및 사용가능성을 다시 검증한 결과, 프로그램 제시 전 조사결과보다 유의하게 긍정적으로 평가되었으며, 데이터베이스 자료 활용시 이미지 형용사를 통한 검색보다는 구성요소를 통한 검색에 더 만족하는 것으로 나타났다.

Characteristics of Application of Augmented Reality Technology according to the Digital Transformation in the Fashion Industry (패션 산업의 디지털 전환에 따른 증강현실 기술의 활용특성)

  • With the continuation of the pandemic environment, digital transformation is being applied in various fields of the fashion industry. Augmented reality technology is a form of overlapping virtual images on the real world, and as online shopping expands in non-face-to-face environments, the use of augmented reality technology in fashion and beauty fields is affecting consumer satisfaction and sales growth. In this study, the characteristics of augmented reality contents used in the fashion industry following digital transformation were extended to the fields of clothing, accessories, virtual fashion stores, and AR fashion shows to analyze the case characteristics of augmented reality. Augmented reality technology in the fashion industry focuses on promoting clothing and accessory products through SNS or homepage through marketing activities. It is raising positive values such as raising awareness. The range of types of augmented reality used in the future digital fashion environment will continue to expand, and by deriving the usage characteristics of augmented reality technology, it is intended to contribute to presenting a future vision of the fashion industry.

The Meanings of Fashion on the Social Media of Virtual Influencer Lil Miquela (버추얼 인플루언서 릴 미켈라의 소셜미디어에 반영된 패션의 의미)

  • Lil Miquela, who appeared on social media in 2016, is one of the most popular virtual influencers. In particular, Miquela is having a great impact on society by continuing to collaborate with many fashion brands through Instagram. As the activity of virtual influencers is emerging today, this study aims to derive the meanings of contemporary fashion through analyzing Miquela's social media case. This study analyzed Miquela's Instagram posts as research subjects. As a result of the above analysis, it was possible to classify the methods and devices for expressing fashion in Miquela's social media into three categories: storytelling, reality, and tags & hyperlinks. In addition, the meanings of fashion could be derived from three aspects: the object of experience, the direction of technology, and the realization of the spirit of the times. After appearing on social media, Miquela, who has gradually expanded her domain, is a virtual fashion influencer who has built her identity through fashion, and is expected to give new meaning to fashion in the future.

Digital persona in E-girl and E-boy fashion images (E-girl과 E-boy 패션 이미지에 나타난 디지털 페르소나)

  • The aim of this study is to select MLMA and Noen Eubanks as representatives of Gen Z's unique subculture 'E-girl' and 'E-boy' to analyze fashion images and determine their meaning through the perspective of persona. To conduct this study, a literature review and case studies were combined and fashion images of E-girl and E-boy appearing on social media were analyzed to identify the personas they expressed. A case study of MLMA and Noen Eubanks' Instagram and TikTok account posts showed that grotesque, kitsch, and gender-related images stand out. The digital personae demonstrated by E-girl and E-boy fashion images were demonstrated to be a strange persona that reject perfect beauty and a playful persona escaping from reality and anxiety. Lastly persona of individual identity was shown to be formed. This study provides a basis for understanding and interpreting Gen Z's culture and aesthetics that will lead to future trends. Based on this study, I hope that various studies on E-girl and E-boy apparel will be conducted, and that by understanding the importance of E-girl and E-boy culture for Gen Z (which is paying attention to fashion trends), this can be used as a marketing strategy to consider their characteristics, with data used to inform design development.

  • According to development of Internet and computer graphics technology, Digital fashion technology makes virtual fitting service capable by reappearing of clothes in 3D. In this paper, We suggest that combined solution which you could use virtual fitting service with various device. For example, imaginary mirror(such as digital information display), pc, mobile in different situations such as store, internet shopping market, commercial. Users can experience imaginary mirror that is located in store or 3D virtual fitting service for digital fashion in internet shopping market, mobile application. In addition, We proposed the solution that user can send experienced virtual fitting service results to other person by image file form of MMS.

  • 패션산업은 매년 1 조원씩 성장(연평균 2.1%)하며 많은 연구자들의 관심을 받고 있다. 전통적인 패션산업은 점차 디지털화되어 선진적인 컴퓨터 비전 기술을 적용해 소비자들에게 더 좋은 쇼핑 서비스를 제공하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 2014 년부터 2019 년 사이에 구축된 대표적인 패션 데이터셋을 연도별로 정리하고 각 데이터셋에 포함된 주석(annotation)의 특징을 정리했다. 또한 데이터셋이 패션 상품 검출(Fashion detection), 패션 이미지 생성(Fashion image generation), 가상 피팅(Virtual try-on) 그리고 패션 의류 분할(Fashion Clothing segmentation) 등 연구에서의 활용될 수 있는 여부에 대해 분석했다.
