A New Technique for Improvement of Dynamic Range in Fiber Optic Acoustic Sensor using Sagnac Interferometers (Sagnac 간섭계를 이용한 광섬유 음향 센서의 동적 범위 향상 기법)

  • A new demodulation technique which can be used for the fiber optic acoustic sensor system using Sagnac interferometer is described. The theoretical limitation in dynamic range of the quadrature demodulation technique can be removed by the proposed BPSK(Binary Phase Shift Keying) demodulation technique. Full demodulation of input acoustic signal is possible with just simple electronics by eliminating the necessity of the high frequency phase modulation. This technique is suitable for digital signal processing of fiber optic sensor systems and can be applicable for other interferometers.

  • In this paper, we implement a public address system using power line communication in order to operate, extend, and expand the complicated public address devices and cables easily. Power line communication based public address system implemented consists of a public address control board and public address speaker boards which are suitable to digital streaming modulation. It can be noticed that we met satisfied results from performance measurement such as maximum audio output, audio channel response time, audio output SNR, and audio output THD+N.

  • A new adaptation algorithm for the digital predistorter is presented. The proposed technique employs the real-time transmitted signals through HPA for the table update. Hence the proposed algorithm does not depend on modulation format and the signal transmission of HPA is not affected during the adaptation process. The experimental results are presented to verify the proposed method and we obtained about 8.4 dB of ACPR improvement.

  • 본 논문에서는 직접확산방식 무선 LAN의 이기종간 간섭특성에 관하여 검토를 하였다. 그 결과 일대일의 통신을 하는 2종의 무선 LAN에 있어서 변조 파라미터의 다른 두 종류의 무선LAN을 D/U비가 15dB이상이 되도록 조합함으로써 전송효율 특성은 동일 시스템의 두조를 사용하는 것보다도 개선되는 것을 알았다. 또한, 이기종간 간섭모델을 상정하여 디지털 신호처리해석을 사용하여 무선 LAN의 이기종간 간섭특성에 대한 비트 에러율(BER) 및 전송효율 특성을 구했다. 계산결과는 측정 결과와 거의 일치하고 이기종간 간섭 환경에서의 일대일 통신에 있어서 전송효율 특성을 보다 명확히 하였다. 이상의 결과는 이기종간 간섭파에 있어서 무선 LAN의 통신 특성의 추정에 유효하다고 생각된다.

  • A wavelet-based image watermarking scheme is proposed, based on the insertion of pseudo-random codes in the frequency domain. The original image is required for the watermark detection. The 'strength' of the signature to be embedded depends on the image to be marked, thus fitting signal capacity. The experimental results prove that the method is more tamper resistant and less perceptible for any type of images than other well-known private methods in the frequency domains.

  • This study deals with the application of high speed on-off valves to an electro-hydraulic servo indexing system incorporated electro-hydraulic servo valces. Comparing with the electro-hydraulic servo valve the high speed on-off valve has some merits. Which included low price robustness to the oil contamination and dircect control without D/A converter. The considered sys-tem of this study is controlled by pulse width modulation(PWM) of the control law which is pro-duced by a PID controller which is used broadly in industrial equipments. The dynamic character-istics corresponding to variations of system parameters such as inertia moment system gain and supply pressure are investigated by computer simulation and experiment. Consequently the availability of the application of high speed on-off valve to servo indexing system instead of electro-hydraulic servo valve is confirmed.

  • In this paper, the optical modem for data link realization is designed with the advantages of optical fiber, large bandwidth, high speed and long haul communication. Modem interface, CCITT V.24 and EIA RS-232C is adopted for the compatibility with existing systems, and biphase coding format is used for digital modulation. And also, modem has serveral loopback test facility in order to diagnose system itself. Optical transmitter and receiver are designed to have the receiving sensitivity of -30dBm at $10^-9$BER in the short wavelength region. Developed system is capable of transmitting data rate at 1200bps up to 57.6Kbps in sync., and at any bps within DC to 200Kbps in async transmission.

  • 본 논문에서는 멀티 코드 CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access)시스템에서 고속의 멀티미디어 서비스를 지원하기 위해 정보 데이터열을 QAM(Quadrature Amplitude Modulation) 부호화하는 방법을 제안한다. 송신 구조는 입력 비트를 정진폭 다중부호 이진직교 변조(Constant amplitude code biorthogonal modulation: 이하 CACB라 칭함)로 부호화하여 전송 심볼의 크기를 일정하게 하고 이렇게 이진화된 신호를 QAM 부호화하여 전송속도를 높인다. 복조기의 구조는 수신된 신호로부터 QAM 연판정기 블록을 거쳐 생성된 신호를 CACB 복호화기를 거쳐 데이터를 복조해 낸다. 제안된 시스템은 기존의 멀티 코드 방식에 비해 대역폭 효율을 크게 개선시킬 수 있어 전송 속도를 많이 향상시킬 수 있고, 멀티 코드 방식을 기반으로 하기 때문에 디지털 가전기기나 3세대 이동통신과, WPAN과 관련된 무선 네트워크 응용과 같은 미래의 고속의 무선 멀티미디어 서비스를 지원하기에 적합하다.

A Study on Digital Communication in Air Using Parametric Array (파라메트릭 어레이를 이용한 공기 중 디지털 통신 연구)

  • This paper demonstrates the digital communication in air using the parametric array. The stepped-plate transducer which is suitable for high-power and high-efficient radiation is used to generate the difference frequency wave with the parametric array. The primary frequencies are selected to 83 kHz and 122 kHz and the resulting difference frequency wave at the frequency of 39 kHz is used for the communication. The modulation method is selected to On-Off Keying method. The waveform and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is measured and analyzed to see the characteristics of the digital communication using the parametric array. The proper distance for the communication using parametric array is about 3 m. The measured beam width of the 3dB SNR reduction was $14^{\circ}$. The possibility of the communication in air using the parametric array is confirmed and the high directional characteristic of the communication using the parametric array is expected to have the advantages for the multi path and the security problems.

Digital Modulation Types Recognition using HOS and WT in Multipath Fading Environments (다중경로 페이딩 환경에서 HOS와 WT을 이용한 디지털 변조형태 인식)

  • In this paper, the robust hybrid modulation type classifier which use both HOS and WT key features and can recognize 10 digitally modulated signals without a priori information in multipath fading channel conditions is proposed. The proposed classifier developed using data taken field measurements in various propagation model (i,e., rural area, small town and urban area) for real world scenarios. The 9 channel data are used for supervised training and the 6 channel data are used for testing among total 15 channel data(i.e., holdout-like method). The Proposed classifier is based on HOS key features because they are relatively robust to signal distortion in AWGN and multipath environments, and combined WT key features for classifying MQAM(M=16, 64, 256) signals which are difficult to classify without equalization scheme such as AMA(Alphabet Matched Algorithm) or MMA(Multi-modulus Algorithm. To investigate the performance of proposed classifier, these selected key features are applied in SVM(Support Vector Machine) which is known to having good capability of classifying because of mapping input space to hyperspace for margin maximization. The Pcc(Probability of correct classification) of the proposed classifier shows higher than those of classifiers using only HOS or WT key features in both training channels and testing channels. Especially, the Pccs of MQAM 3re almost perfect in various SNR levels.
