Teacher Training Program Emphasis on Knowledge in Technology Integration in Teaching and Learning: American N University Instructional Systems Technology Program Case Study (디지털 기반 교수-학습 지식습득을 위한 교사교육 프로그램: 미국 N대학 교육공학과 사례를 중심으로)

  • The study introduced an actual American university program student's learning outcomes in instructional technology integration knowledge in order to acknowledge implication considering the current status of relevant Korean teacher training programs. With utilizing complete sampling (students enrolled in a master's program in Instructional Systems Technology at the N University in Fall 2015), the survey was conducted on knowledge, strategies and performance in instructional technology integration, and interview assessed deeper understanding of students' relevant competencies in their specific professional setting. The results and findings based on triangulation of the data confirmed that the students gained sufficient knowledge, and applied the relevant knowledge and competencies into their work setting. For future research, the implications were offered on reviewing Korean teacher training programs in professional competency development related to technology integration in teaching and learning.

  • The era of the 4th industrial revolution is being built on the digital revolution. In order to understand and properly utilize these technological advances, digital literacy education is emphasized. This study investigated the components of digital literacy and proposed a curriculum & teaching and learning method improvement plan, and instructor digital literacy cultivation method. In order to improve the curriculum, it is necessary to improve the curriculum by expanding the ability to solve digital problems. As a plan to improve teaching and learning methods, it is necessary to present a linkage and convergence educational model based on communication, collaboration, and sharing between instructors and learners through the establishment of an interactive platform. In order to improve the digital literacy of instructors, it is very important to improve the educational environment that can easily design a learner-centered educational model. This study is meaningful in that it presented basic data for creating an educational environment based on communication and collaboration through digital literacy in an environment connected with digital technology.

Effect of Spanish Classes on Academic Achievement on Strengthening Learner-centered Communication (학습자중심 소통 강화 스페인어 수업이 학업성취도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study attempted to investigate academic achievement and cooperative ability as problem-based learning to strengthen communication in Spanish courses. 70 learners taking Spanish at A University from September to December, 2021 were divided into an experimental and a control class to examine their academic achievement and cooperate ability. Academic achievement was not statistically significant, but the sub-area of communication was significant as 0.031 (*p<.05) and the cooperative ability of the experimental group, the average was increased, but it was not statistically significant. Based on this study, continuous follow-up research to develop teaching methods and teaching and learning models suitable for strengthening Spanish communication through various learner-centered convergence teaching methods will contribute to fostering talent desired by the 21st century.

  • 이야기를 통한 메시지 전달은 가장 강력한 소통의 기구다. 그것은 디지털미디어가 발달하면서도 마찬가지이다. 정보의 급격한 양과 질적인 변화는 인간에게 다양하고 변화되는 학습이 요구되고 있으며, 평생교육의 개념이 강화되는 상황 속에서, 디바이스의 발달은 지식정보화 사회에서의 필수적인 학습도구로서 자리잡고 있으나, 진화를 요구 받게 되어있다. 특히, 영어학습에서 디바이스들은 EFL 에서 학습한계를 극복하고, 문화적 교육을 가능하게 하는 도구로 발전하고 있으므로, 수집된 정보들은 의미전달에 있어서 효율성을 취하는 설계에 있어서 디지털 스토리텔링방법의 효과성 검증과 디지털 매체 그리고 변화된 환경의 학습자 분석을 통한 교수학습의 촉진기반연구가 필요하며, 이에 기반한 영어어휘 교수 학습설계의 개발연구를 제안하고자 한다.

  • The digital textbook project which embarked by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has focused on experiments and practices from the school designated by the government. However the previous research about digital textbook provides static interaction models and teaching-learning models analogous to web-based learning based desktop PC even the framework of the digital textbook is based of Tablet PC. This paper provides learning and teaching models for next generation digital textbook which based digital inking techinques for sketcth interface and AR(augmented reality) interactions between teacher and learner. The proposed method of this paper is applied to educational contents and we found positive effect which is supported by statistical experiments. The results of this study in the future and the future development of digital textbooks in effect will be an effective development plan.

  • The wave of a knowledge and information society led by AI, Big Data, and so on is having an all-round impact on our way of life. Therefore the Ministry of Education is in a hurry to strengthen Digital Literacy, including AI and SW Education, by improving the curriculum that can cultivate basic knowledge and capabilities to respond to changes in the future society. It can be seen that establishing a foundation for cultivating Digital Literacy through all subjects and improving basic and in-depth learning in new technology fields such as AI linked to the information curriculum is an essential part for future society. However, research on each content for cultivating Digital and AI literacy is relatively active, while research on teaching and learning strategies is insufficient. Therefore in this study, a CT-based Digital and AI teaching and learning strategy that can foster that was developed and Delphi expert verification was conducted, and the final teaching and learning strategy was completed after evaluating instructor usability and analyzing learner effectiveness.

A Case Study of Teaching and Learning English via E-textbook (디지털 교과서를 이용한 영어 교수-학습 사례연구)

  • Recent technological advancements, along with an increase in mobile Internet access, have spurred on significant developments in the production of e-textbooks. This case study explored the affordances of an iPad e-textbook through teacher and student experiences in English lessons using observation and interviews. The results showed that English learners and teacher benefited from handy and quick web access and the all-in-one features of the e-textbook (dictionary, hyperlinks, and note-taking functions). However, information oversupply by the e-textbook confused students' learning and both students and teacher pointed out technical difficulties in using the e-textbook. In order to implement English pedagogy with technologies such as iPad e-textbooks, teachers should be equipped with the relevant technical skills and content knowledge in order to assist them in becoming autonomous learners in the digital classroom.

  • This study aimed to analyze the level of professors' understanding and perception of adaptive learning and proposed how college can implement successful adaptive learning in college classes. For research purposes, online survey was conducted by 162 professors of A university in capital region. As a result, professors seemed to feel pressure to provide students personalized feedback and gave concerned that students don't study enough in advance before participating in class. It was also found that professors realized that they have low level of understanding about adaptive learning, while they revealed intention to make use of adaptive learning in their class. They also answered that adaptive learning system is the most helpful support for encouraging professors to apply adaptive learning in real class. We proposed what is required to encourage professor to implement adaptive learning in their class.

The Study on Automatic Speech Recognizer Utilizing Mobile Platform on Korean EFL Learners' Pronunciation Development (자동음성인식 기술을 이용한 모바일 기반 발음 교수법과 영어 학습자의 발음 향상에 관한 연구)

  • This study explored the effect of ASR-based pronunciation instruction, using a mobile platform, on EFL learners' pronunciation development. Particularly, this quasi-experimental study focused on whether using mobile ASR, which provides voice-to-text feedback, can enhance the perception and production of target English consonants minimal pairs (V-B, R-L, and G-Z) of Korean EFL learners. Three intact classes of 117 Korean university students were assigned to three groups: a) ASR Group: ASR-based pronunciation instruction providing textual feedback by the mobile ASR; b) Conventional Group: conventional face-to-face pronunciation instruction providing individual oral feedback by the instructor; and the c) Hybrid Group: ASR-based pronunciation instruction plus conventional pronunciation instruction. The ANCOVA results showed that the adjusted mean score for pronunciation production post-test on the Hybrid instruction group (M=82.71, SD =3.3) was significantly higher than the Conventional group (M=62.6, SD =4.05) (p<.05).

  • 창의성은 21세기 지식기반 정보사회를 살아가는 현대인에게 정보홍수에서 새로운 정보를 재창조하는 중요한 능력이다. 그리고, 디지털미디어는 현대인들의 가장 빠르고 쉽게 생각이나 느낌을 표현하는 도구이다. 현 교육현장에서는 학습자의 창의성과 문제해결력 신장을 위해 디지털미디어를 활용한 이미지와 영상을 투입하고 있다. 하지만, 본 연구는 교수자의 입장에서 디지털미디어를 활용한 교수학습자료를 투입하는 것이 아닌, 학습자 스스로가 디지털미디어를 활용하여 자신의 생각을 창의성있게 표현하는데 중점을 두었다. 특히, 디지털미디어 중에서 디지털카메를 활용하여 초등학교 5학년 국어과에서 적합한 학습차시를 선택하여 학습자의 창의력 신장을 위한 수업을 설계하여 적용해 보기로 하였다.
