Analysis of Convergent Influence of Self-Esteem, Fatigue and Psychosocial Stress on Depression among General Hospital Administrative Staff (종합병원 행정직의 자아존중감, 피로 및 사회심리적 스트레스가 우울에 미치는 융복합적 영향 분석)

  • We study convergent influence on depression and its association with self-esteem, fatigue and psychosocial stress among General Hospital Administrative Staff(GHAS). The subjects were 201 randomly extracted GHAS from 9 general hospitals in J City, Data collection was carried out via a structured self-administered questionaries from Jul. 3rd, 2017 to Jul. 29th, 2017. Depression was positively correlated with three sub-domains of fatigue and psychosocial stress, and it was negatively correlated with self-esteem. With the analysis of covariance structure, depression was more influential on self-esteem than fatigue and psychosocial stress. The study found the higher fatigue and psychosocial stress, and the lower self-esteem tend to increase depression. The results indicate that the efforts, to increase self-esteem, and to decrease fatigue and psychosocial stress, are required to decrease the depression of GHAS. The results are expected to be useful for industrial health education and job management to decrease the depression of GHAS. In the following study, the analysis about convergent additional factors of influence on the depression of GHAS will be needed.

The Effect of a Convergence Multi-cultural Nursing Education Program on Cultural Competence and Empathy for Nursing Students (융복합 다문화 간호교육 프로그램이 간호대학생의 문화적 역량과 공감능력에 미치는 효과)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify the effect of a convergence multicultural nursing education on cultural competence and empathy for nursing students. Method: This used a total of 85 samples with an experimental group and a control group and pre-and post-testing. The samples comprised of 85 third-year nursing students enrolled in the BSN program were divided into an experimental group (n=45) from college J and an control group (n=40) from college K. Results: The experimental group of students who attended a convergence multicultural nursing education program increased the level of cultural competence and empathy significantly. But the control group of students who did not receive multicultural nursing education program had no significant increase. Conclusion: The study proves that a convergence multicultural nursing education program has a positive impact on the improvement of cultural competence and empathy for nursing students.

Convergence factors influencing the human papillomavirus vaccination in some female university students (일부 여대생의 인유두종바이러스 백신 접종에 영향을 미치는 융복합적 예측요인)

  • This study was done to identify convergence factors influencing the HPV vaccination in female university students. The subjects of this study were 546 female university students. The data were collected through interviews using a structured questionnaire from 5 to 30th of October, 2013. 138(25.3%) reported that they were vaccinated. Religion, ever heard cervical cancer, HPV and cervical cancer vaccination, ever had a pap test, knowledge about HPV vaccination, health beliefs(total), perceived benefit, perceived barrier, cancer preventive behavior(total) and cervical cancer preventive behavior were associated with being vaccinated. In logistic regression analysis showed that the predictors are ever had a pap test(OR=34.67, 95% CI=17.19~ 69.92), perceived benefit(OR=1.45, 95% CI=1.17~1.81) and perceived barrier(OR=1.44, 95% CI=1.27~1.63). It was recommended to make convergence policy supports and education programs reinforcing a pap test and perceived benefit and reducing perceived barriers about HPV vaccination.

A study on Convergence Factors Related with Academic Burnout of Students in Health Majors in Studying for TOEIC (보건계열 일부 대학생의 토익학습의 학업소진 영향과 관련된 융복합적 요인 연구)

  • This study was carried out to examine the converging factors related to academic burnout in students from health-related majors who are involved in studying for the Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC). Research subjects included 291 randomly selected students from the J-region, who were enrolled in TOEIC classes. Data collection took place from April 3, 2017 to April 14, 2017, using anonymous self-administered questionnaires. The results of a multiple regression analysis in female students showed higher academic burnout pertaining to studying for the TOEIC when sleeping hours, self-worth, self-efficacy, school adaptation resilience, and study immersion were low, and job-seeking stress and test anxiety were high. The explanatory power of this model was 65%. Based on these results, to reduce academic burnout pertaining to studying for the TOEIC in health majors, it is first necessary to increase sleeping hours, self-worth, self-efficacy, school adaptation resilience, and study immersion, and to make efforts to manage self-competence, job-seeking stress, and test anxiety. The results of this study may be used to decrease the academic burnout caused by studying for the TOEIC in health major students and to increase their aptitude for studying English, to cultivate globalized capabilities. Future studies need to conduct an effect analysis on the control and mediation effect that these factors have on academic burnout.

Convergence Influence of Organizational Justice, Intragroup Trust and Organizational Commitment on Organizational Citizenship Behavior among Hospital Administrative Staff (병원행정직의 조직공정성, 집단내신뢰 및 조직헌신도가 조직시민행동에 미치는 융복합 영향)

  • This study examined the relationship between organizational justice, intragroup trust, organizational commitment and Organizational Citizenship Behavior of Hospital Administrative Staff(OCB of HAS) and investigated convergence effects of these factors on OCB. The subjects were randomly selected 274 HAS from 22 hospitals randomly selected in J area. The data were collected from July 1 to July 31, 2019 for about a month, and the structured self-administered questionaries was used for the data survey. OCB was positively correlated with organizational justice, intragroup trust and organizational commitment. As a result of covariance structure analysis, it was found that the higher organizational justice, intragroup trust, and organizational commitment, the higher OCB. The results of the analysis showed that in order to increase the OCB of HAS, it was necessary to increase organizational justice, intragroup trust, and organizational commitment. The results of the survey are expected to be used as basic data for hospital human resource management, which enhances OCB of HAS, and health education in the emotional and psychological aspects of HAS. In the future study, it is necessary to investigate various factors affecting OCB of HAS.

Analysis of Convergent Influence of Job Seeking Stress, Hopelessness and Depression on Childbirth Perception among Some College Women (일부 여대생의 취업스트레스, 무망감 및 우울이 출산인식에 미치는 융복합적 영향 분석)

  • This study investigates convergent influence on childbirth perception and its association with job seeking stress, depression and hopelessness among some college women. The survey was administered to 531 college women in Jeonbuk area from March 28th to April 29th, 2016. The structured self-administered questionaries were used. The childbirth perception of respondents according to general characteristics turned out to be significantly higher in following groups: that of old age, that of religion, that of school life satisfaction, that of non drinker. The childbirth perception are significantly higher in higher job seeking stress group, moderate & severe hopeless group and moderate & major depression group. The childbirth perception was positively correlated with job seeking stress, hopelessness and depression. With the analysis of covariance structure, we could confirm relationship among the four factors such as job seeking stress, hopelessness, depression and childbirth perception. Job seeking stress was more influential on the childbirth perception than hopelessness and depression. The results are expected to be useful for health education to increase the positive thinking of childbirth perception of the college women. In the following study, the analysis about additional factors of convergent influence on childbirth perception will be needed.

The needs and effects of convergence-based simulation practice for obstetrical nursing (분만간호에 대한 융복합 기반 시뮬레이션 실습 효과 및 요구도)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the needs and effects of convergence-based simulation practice for obstetrical nursing. The study participants were 47 junior nursing students of a university in Chungnam province. Data were collected by a self-administered questionnaire from February 13 to 25, 2012. Convergence-based simulation practice for obstetrical nursing was applied 8 hours in a day for 2 days and consisted of four sessions. Self-efficacy in obstetrical nursing (t=-14.74, p<.001) and nursing skills related to obstetrical nursing (t=-17.51, p<.001) showed significant increase in the posttest and practice satisfaction was higher than practice stress. The needs of simulation practice was 7.96 out of 10 point and higher as practice satisfaction was higher. The needs of simulation practice before clinical practice was higher than simulation practice after clinical practice. These results indicate that simulation practice for obstetrical nursing can be used as the alternative for clinical practice. In addition to simulation practice should be done before clinical practice and strategies to increase the nursing student's cognition for the need of simulation practice are also needed.

  • We study convergent influence on Job Satisfaction(JS) and its association with Self Efficacy(SE), Job Characteristics(JC) and Occupational Stress(OS) among Hospital Administrative Staff(HAS). The survey was administered to 221 staff from 11 general hospitals located in Jeonbuk area from Nov. 1st, 2016 to Jan. 31st, 2017. The structured self-administered questionaries were used. JS was positively correlated with SE and three sub-domains of JC, and it was negatively correlated with seven sub-domains of OS. With the analysis of covariance structure, OS was more influential on JS than SE and JC. The study found the higher SE and JC, and the lower OC tend to increase JS. The results indicate that the efforts, to increase SE and JC, and to decrease OS, are required to increase the JS of HAS. The results are expected to be useful for organization personnel management to increase the JS of HAS. In the following study, the analysis about convergent additional factors of influence on JS will be needed.

Convergent Influence of Subjective Happiness, Job Burnout and Psychosocial Stress on State Anxiety among Hospital Women Administrative Staff (병원여성행정직의 주관적행복감, 직무소진 및 사회심리적 스트레스가 상태불안에 미치는 융복합적인 영향)

  • This study ascertained convergent influence on state anxiety and its association with subjective happiness, job burnout and psychosocial stress among Hospital Women Administrative Staff(HWAS). The survey period was from July 4, 2018 to July 25, 2018. The subjects were 226 HWAS randomly extracted from 24 hospitals in J area. The data were collected using a structured self-administered questionaries. State anxiety was negatively correlated with subjective happiness, and it was positively correlated with job burnout and psychosocial stress. The covariance structure analysis showed that the lower subjective happiness, and the higher job burnout and psychosocial stress tend to increase state anxiety. In conclusion, in order to reduce the state anxiety of HWAS, it is necessary to increase subjective happiness, to reduce job burnout and psychosocial stress. These results are expected to be used for industrial health education and hospital internal customer management to reduce the state anxiety of HWAS. In the future study, it is necessary to investigate the convergent additional factors that affect the state anxiety of HWAS.

Analysis of the Convergent Relationship between Stress Factors and Depression Levels in a College Students (일개 대학생의 스트레스 요인 및 우울 수준의 융복합적 관련성 분석)

  • This study examined the convergent relationship of stress factors related to the depression level(CES-D) of a college student. The questionnaire was used using an unregistered self-administered questionnaire for 304 students from a college located in J area from Nov. 12, 2018 to Dec. 14, 2018. The hierarchical multiple regression analysis results are as follows: The depression level of respondents turned out to be significantly higher in following groups: a group in which job seeking stress(CMI) is higher, a group in which academic burnout(MBI-SS) is higher, a group in which anxiety(BAI) are higher. The results show explanatory power of 60.7%. The results of the study indicate that the efforts, to decrease job seeking stress, to decrease academic burnout and, to decrease anxiety, are required to decrease the depression level among college students. These results can be utilized in various interventional efforts for academic counseling and guidance, job counseling, and psychological and emotional stability that lowers the depression level in college students. Following studies requires the presentation and analysis of structural models for the structural model that effects the depression levels of college students.
