How Do People Experience Changes and Growths of the Self in On-line Game World? (온라인 게임 세계 속에서 게임 사용자들은 시간이 흐름에 따라 자신의 모습에서 어떠한 변화와 성장을 경험하는가?)

  • This research was conducted in an attempt to understand changes and growths of the self in on-line game world. Q methodology was used to investigate players in Mabinogi, which is an on-line game(MMORPG). Based on 57 behavior statements, Players distributed their changing experiences from when they were novices in on-line game world to the current state. In early start phase, they recognized that on-line game world was different from the reality. And they perceived their experiences in on-line game as separated from the real ones. However, as they spend more time in on-line game world, they began to realized that on-line game world is as real as the world because they function as an individual living in a society in both the game and the real world. They felt and learned that in on-line game life, they also need to follow the rules and order. In addition, trust and politeness were essential in order to live with other players. As time passed, the players realized that on-line game experiences have the same meanings and values as the real life ones. 3 types of self-changing patterns were found : Achievement change, Control change, and Relation change. The behavior patterns of the 3 types were then compared to Identify similarities and differences amongst them in psychological meanings and values in the on-line game life. This result illustrates that on-line game world can be defined as new behavioral setting or developmental context established by digital technology. In this new setting, people can experiment and understand their behavior patterns and also experience changes and growths of the self.

  • Interactive Media Art has been developed a lot in digital age. Especially, the audience try to make interactions by accessing the world of art as one of main interacting figures, while they used to be totally separated from the art in traditional art. Also, it is one of exclusive features distinguished from the other art genres. In this thesis, the intercommunication process of interactive media art is classified and compared with Merleau-Ponty's corporeity phenomenology theories. Merleau-Ponty's corporeity phenomenology insists integrated perception through body against the western intelligence philosophy focusing on binomial reasons. Merleau-Ponty's corporeity phenomenology, which suggested the new perception way towards the art, is analyzed in this thesis by comparing it with detailed factors of Intercommunication process of Interactive Media Art. The Intercommunication process of Media Art is classified into , , , , . Additionally, they are studied and compared with the concept of , , , , out of Ponty's corporeity phenomenology theories. Therefore, it is concluded clearly that corporeity, synesthesia, poly sensation and spaciality drawn from Intercommunication process of Media Art have something in common with Ponty's corporeity phenomenology theories rather than the other art genre or minimalism art styles. Furthermore, a new direction of study upon modern Interactive Media Art is suggested.

  • Hanok is a cultural heritage containing our ancestor's life style intact and breathing alive with us until now. As Hanok has been concerned as a echo-friendly architecture, a new methodology for efficient construction without damaging the traditional construction process comes into request. The goal of this research is development of a architectural design tool based on the BIM(Building Information Modeling) for satisfying these demands. It will be usable to support whole process of the traditional building from digital design to production and construction. Firstly, we take a consideration of the traditional architecture reflecting the spirit of the age and suggest efficient design method for architectural components. Each components is pre-fabricated as a template representing similar components. All pre-fabricated components are designed by object-oriented concepts so, many variations for a component can be derived from the pre-fabricated component. Our method is helpful for reducing design errors because that it considers combining rule between connecting components in the template design. Moreover it is plugged in the commercial architectural CAD, so it can supports digital design not only traditional architecture but also fusion style mixed with modern architecture.

  • Documentaries are being recreated into a new genre and the Web Documentary is the typical case. Web Documentaries are the documentaries those comprise creators and users and they are the novel type of text that the interaction with users is absolute. In this research, two Web Documentaries and are analyzed for examining how Web utilizes its features as expressive media inducing users to experience reality. Web Documentaries have dual and spatial structure that allows user interaction and make users to face with various information and knowledge about reality by its encyclopedic characteristics. Also, Web Documentaries give the role of progressing documentary and expanding text to users and that is, they stimulate users' consciousness reminding that they are the ones who explore through reality. In this process, users of Web Documentaries get potentiality of critically examining the reality suggested by documentaries and grasping the meanings beneath it. These features make Web Documentaries special contrast to traditional documentaries not only with their way of pursuing the reality but also with their meanings. This makes the innovative position of Web Documentaries phenomenon clear, issuing the necessity of the discussion about Web Documentaries more strongly. Web Documentaries are not just new media technological phenomenon, and they have their significance as a fundamental challenge toward traditional documentaries.

  • MPEG-4 표준은 저작자가 정지영상, 텍스트, 2D/3D 그래픽스, 오디오, 심지어 임의형의 비디오 등과 같이 다양한 형태의 객체들을 개별적으로 구성하고 이들을 시/공간자적으로 다루기 용이하게 해 준다. 이와 같은 객체 기반 코딩 특성에 의해서 대화형 방송 콘텐츠를 제작하는데 가장 유용한 방식으로 고려할 수 있다. 피러나, 콘텐츠의 제작, 전송, 소비 관전에서 고려해 달 때, 콘텐츠 제작자 또는 저작권자의 보호 및 관리가 필요하게 되었다. 이에 따라 최근에는 OPIMA (Open Platform Initiative for Multimedia Access), SDMI (Secure Digital Music Initiative) and MPEG(Moving Picture Expert Group) OPIMATfMr(Intellectual Property Management & Protection)와 같은 국제 표준 단체들이 콘텐츠 보호 및 관리에 대한 관심을 가지게 되었다. 특히, MPEG의 경우에 MPEG-4 IPMP를 표준화하여 디지털 콘텐츠와 저작권에 대한 보호를 체계적이고 효과적으로 다루는 연구를 가장 활발히 해오고 있다. 이 논문에서 우리는 MPEG-4 콘텐츠 저작자가 MPEG-4 규격에 맞게 보호화 된 객체 기반 방송용 콘텐츠를 쉽고 편리하게 제작학 수 있도록 하기 위한 MPEG씨 콘텐츠 및 저자권 보호를 위한 MPEG-4 IPMP 저작 도구를 제안하고자 한다. 제안한 MPEG-4 콘텐츠 및 저작권 보호 저작 도구는 저작자에게 친근한 사용자 인터페이스를 제공하여 편집 및 수정이 용이한 텍스트 포맷인 IPMP회된 XMT(extensible Mpeg-4 Textual format) 파일을 생성한다. 또한, 콘텐츠 전송 및 저장의 효율성을 위해 이진 포멧인 IPMP화된 MP4 파일을 생성할 수 있다.으로써, 에러 이미지가 가지고 있는 엔트로피에 좀 근접하게 코딩을 할 수 있게 되었다. 이 방법은 실제로 Arithmetic Coder를 이용하는 다른 압축 방법에 그리고 적용할 수 있다. 실험 결과 압축효율은 JPEG-LS보다 약 $5\%$의 압축 성능 개선이 있었으며, CALIC과는 대등한 압축률을 보이며, 부호화/복호화 속도는 CALIC보다 우수한 것으로 나타났다.우 $23.87\%$($18.00\~30.91\%$), 갑폭 $23.99\%$($17.82\~30.48\%$), 체중 $91.51\%$($58.86\~129.14\%$)이였으며 성장율은 사육 온도구간별 차는 없었다.20 km 까지의 지점들(지점 2에서 지점 6)에서 매우 높은 값을 보이며 이는 조석작용으로 해수와 담수가 강제혼합되면서 표층퇴적물이 재부유하기 때문이라고 판단된다. 영양염류는 월별로 다소의 차이는 있으나, 대체적으로 지점 1과 2에서 가장 낮고, 상류로 갈수록 점차 증가하며 지점 7 상류역이 하류역에 비해 높은 농도이다. 월별로는 7월에 규산염, 용존무기태질소 및 암모니아의 농도가 가장 높은 반면에 용존산소포화도는 가장 낮다. 그러나 지점 14 상류역에서는 5월에 측정한 용존무기태질소, 암모니아, 인산염 및 COD 값이 7월보다 다소 높거나 비슷하다. 한편 영양염류와 COD값은 대체적으로 8월에 가장 낮으나 용존산소포화도는 가장 높다.출조건은 $100^{\circ}C$에서 1분간의 고온단시간 추출이 적합하였다. 증가를 나타내었는데, 저장기간에 따른 물성의 변화는 숭어에 비하여 붕장어가 적었다.양식산은 aspartic acid 및 proline이 많았다. 또한 잉어는 천연산이

Educational Psychology in the Age of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (제4차 산업혁명 시대의 교육심리학)

  • The Fourth Industrial Revolution foreshadows radical changes in our lives. In the era of the fourth industrial revolution called the digital revolution, individualized learning based on ubiquitous learning is emphasized. The contents of learning will be centered on procedural knowledge rather than narrative knowledge, and fusion education in which boundaries between learning domains are broken down will be achieved. First of all, learners in the fourth industrial revolution era should have critical thinking and problem solving abilities. Metacognition based on self-control and cognitive flexibility is important for effective self-directed and active learning. Creativity-based collaborative activities, social vision skills, and social and emotional skills are also important competencies. Therefore, in order to provide individualized learning contents to learners in the fourth industrial revolution era, they should be transformed into learning paradigm based on personal characteristics such as learners' self-efficacy, interest, curiosity and creativity. In addition to this, evaluation forms should be diversified according to changing teaching and learning methods. In order to cultivate teachers to lead such educational innovation, it is necessary to reconsider the teaching capacity. Teachers should be able to construct creative lessons by skillfully exploiting technology in future learning environments. In addition to this, it should also have the ability to collaborate and cognitive flexibility to converge with other academic disciplines. Along with these discussions, we proposed the need for policy intervention along with changes in education.

The Context and Reality of Memes as Information Resources: Focused on Analysis of Research Trends in South Korea (정보자원으로서 '밈'의 맥락과 실재 - 국내 연구동향 분석을 중심으로 -)

  • The study is a preliminary study to conceptualize memes as information resources for literacy education in information environment changed with digital revolution. The study is to explain the context and reality of memes in order to promote the utilization of memes as information resources. The research questions are as follows: First, what topics are 'memes' studied with? Second, what things are captured and studied as 'memes'? The study conducted frequency and co-occurrence network analysis on 145 domestic studies and contents analysis on 73 domestic studies. The results are as follows: First, memes were mainly studied in the fields of 'humanities', 'social sciences', 'interdiciplinary studies', and 'arts and kinesiology'. Studies based on Dawkins' concept of memes (around 2012), studies on introducing the concept of memes to explain the spread of Korean Wave content (around 2015), and independent studies of memes as a major research topic in cultural sociology (around 2019) were performed. Second, memes are linguistic. Language memes (L-memes) are 102 (37%), language-visual memes (LV-memes) are 23 (8%), language-visual-musical memes (LVM-memes) are 21 (8%). Keyword 'language meme' ranked high in frequency, degree centrality and betweenness centrality of co-occurrence network. In other words, memes are expanding as a unique information phenomenon of cultural sociology based on linguistic characteristics. It is necessary to conceptualize meme literacy in terms of information literacy.

  • In this study, the relationship of images and sounds of the animations "Dots" and "Loops" which Norman McLaren animated with his Animated sound technique when he worked at Guggenheim museum at New York, are analyzed through the audiovisual analysis theory by Michel Chion, and through the theory of synchronism/asynchronism and parallelism/counterpoint by Siegfried Kracauer. For the results of the analysis, there are a few difference between "Dots" and "Loops" regarding the aspect of sound arrangement and expressive aspect of abstract animation. However, there are being of two main elements of sound, composing with monophony sound, making musical structure with sound effects, and the emphasizing of parallelism with synchronization bewteen images and sounds in common with both "Dots" and "Loops". In "Dots" and "Loops", there are close correlations between pitch of sound and arrangement/shape of image, between loudness of sound and size of image, and between length of sound and length/shape of image. The image and sound of "Dots" and "Loops" have equal relationship each other, rather than subordinate relationship according as image become sound and the sound become new image with the animated sound technique. "Dots" and "Loops" show tendency of minimal art and music video. Since these two films, and remind about the new approach to sound creation in today's animation production.

Whole-Genome Sequencing-based Antimicrobial Resistance and Genetic Profile Analysis of Vibrio parahaemolyticus Isolated from Seafood in Korea (유통 수산물에서 분리한 Vibrio parahaemolyticus의 항생제 내성 및 전장 유전체 분석을 통한 유전적 특성 분석)

  • Vibrio parahaemolyticus is a major seafood-borne pathogen commonly detected in marine environments. In Korea, V. parahaemolyticus-induced foodborne illnesses account for 7.5% of bacterial pathogen-related food poisonings. Moreover, the amount of antimicrobial agents used in aquatic cultures is continuously increasing. In this study, we isolated V. parahaemolyticus from seafood samples and performed antimicrobial susceptibility tests using the microbroth dilution method. Furthermore, using whole-genome sequencing, we identified antimicrobial resistance genes, virulence genes, and sequence types (STs). We could isolate V. parahaemolyticus from 47 (59.5%) of the 79 seafood samples we purchased from retail markets in Seoul and Chungcheong provinces. Antimicrobial susceptibility tests revealed that 2 and all of the 47 isolates were ampicillin-resistant (4.3%) and susceptible to all tested antimicrobial agents (100%), respectively. The genotype analysis revealed that all isolates carried beta-lactam-, tetracycline-, and chloramphenicol-associated antimicrobial resistance genes. However, we could detect fosfomycin resistance only in one isolate. Concerning the virulence genes, we detected T3SS1 and T3SS2-associated genes in all and one isolate, respectively. However, we could not detect the tdh and trh genes. Of the 47 isolates, 17 belonged to 15 different STs, including ST 658 with 3 isolates. The rest 30 isolates were identified as 25 new STs. The results of this study support the need for operating a continuous monitoring system to prevent foodborne illnesses and the spread of antimicrobial resistance genes in V. parahaemolyticus.

  • Creativity is a important keyword for users as well as for main design organization who needs it. But little attention has been given to the aspect of user's creativity, also there has been a few attempt to apply it into design development until now. Nowadays in design areas, user's experiences and actions are changing the passive states receiving meanings into the active states creating meanings voluntarily. It is resonable to suppose that creative stage is important for users and they have the possibility of new ideas of uses and creating new productions. User's experiences of objects includes that of being formed or supported previously and that of voluntary interpretations acquired for himself, which it may be the possibilities predicted in design process or unknown user's action areas. It is likely that creative use process by themselves are the actions applied and deviated from usability and function by main design organization, also creative productions are arranged and made by users. These have a scope of examination and research in probability that is occurs frequently in user. In this research, approaching with a term, 'User gestures', User gestures are the characteristic action areas based on user's voluntary behaviors, where are revealed a unessential and non-operational function as a action itself and various transformation and creation of products as a outcome of action. This fact proves clearly that user gestures have a worth of alive spectrum to observe aspects of user culture and could be a attractive approach to seek easily new design concept for designer and developer. A further direction of this study will be following areas, Ethnography methods research of user gestures, Cultural research to phenomenon of user design and UGSBD(User gesture scenario based design) research. And it seems probable that they are applied in design development as follows, User initiative customization products, User participatory recycling products and creativity-experience design.
