  • Before 1990's, Korea had only few colleges that had film and film related majors. As Korean film industry started its marvelous improvement in both commercial and artistic phase, many colleges were interested in this new academic field. They hurried up to launch this new and profitable major; as a result, Korea now has more than hundred colleges and universities that has film related majors. Each college enumerates numbers of academic courses that may look reasonable; they have almost every course a fine film school should provide such as film theory, production, and performance in film. Lots of film schools offer lots of film courses; and they look alike. One unique thing in film major is its vast sub fields and categories. After you decide to study film, you have to select what specific field in film you want to study. Studying film theory and film production can be as different as majoring physics and physical education. The problem Korean colleges are dealing with is that there are too much film schools, and moreover those colleges have similar curriculums that just look like a department store that sells everything. One suggestion is specializing its curriculum in which the school can take advantages using their special conditions. San Francisco Art Institute is one of United States well known private film schools, but many people remember this school as a specialized film school in experimental film. San Francisco where this school is located has had many liberal and experimental artists as the city has been supporting and offering them an environment they can concentrate their work. Naturally, the school has world famous faculty members in experimental film, and students who want to study and make experimental film come to this school from all over the world because they know this school would be the best to study experimental film. There are many film schools in metro Los Angeles area; since its location near Hollywood, no wonder these schools concentrate on film producing and film production. They take advantage of their geographical location to hire film industry professional and to focus on commercial feature film productions. What we can do now to adjust the curriculum in film and film related major in Korean colleges is to adapt new standards in this changed film industry. One school can emphasize digital production while another school focuses on digital intermediate process. But if one school tries to both fields or all fields of film major just like we have done so far, the school could not take care of all the equipment and the faculty that the fields would need. Korean film schools should devide the field in film major and concentrate what they selected. Selection and concentration can be and should be applied in Korean film schools.

  • The National College of Art. Craft and Design of Sweden founded in 1811 is one of the oldest schools in the world and has taken very important role in the development of Scandinavian design This college usually called "Konstfack" in Sweden was transformed under the influence of Bauhaus into a modern design institute and the experiment:li curriculum and its unique teaching system was completed in the middle of 70' s The phrase "Insight och Flit" in the emblem of this school shows the Konslfack spirit which stresses the creative insight and endless diligence Korea is much different from Sweden in cultural aspects as well as in political and economic ones. In the later half of 19th century Sweden was one of the undeveloped countries in Europe and she just entered the Industrial Hevolution. Swedish culture at the time was also the barbarian one in comparison with English and Frech cultures. Even she had the difficulty in founding her own cultural identity So the Swedish intellectuals in early 20th century tried to find out "What is Swedish\ulcorner" and as the result they produced the Swedish Modern Movement style in 1950's. In this process Konstfack as well as the Swedish Society of Crafts and Design and the Svensk Form. the design magazine. has played the leading role. To look over the history and educational system of this school will be helpful for our design education. will be helpful for our design education.

Among the nursing college students who completed the fundamental nursing subject, the students who agreed to participate in the research were composed of the project team and proceeded as team activities. It was conducted through knowledge - team composition - topic selection / analysis - design / development - simulation - evaluation / feedback process starting from knowledge learned through fundamental nursing class. The research period was from January 1, 2015 to October 30, 2015 for 6 months. BBS (Bed Sore Socks) was developed for the prevention of pressure ulcers, and BBS was applied for seven days to randomly selected patients in the long term care facility. The incidence and pressure ulcer risk scores were assessed. The results of the pilot study showed that the intervention group had an effect on the incidence of pressure ulcer ($x^2=.40$, p = .500) and the pressure ulcer risk score (z = -.45, p = .690), but it was not statistically significant. Capstone design was trailed in the field of nursing education and produced the bed sore socks. In the nursing education, not many capstone design trails appeared yet, this study might be the first trail in the field of nursing, and it could be challenging for expanding of nursing education.

  • This study developed teaching-learning materials for 10 class periods that applies design thinking process for the units of 'sustainable consumption' of home economic subject, and examined the learning experience of students in the class. After the classes, reflection journals and in-depth interviews from 276 male and female students in ten classes were analyzed. The main results are as follows: The five steps of the design thinking process of the Stanford University d-School were applied to develop teaching-learning materials for the 'Sustainable Consumption Practice Book Creation Project'. Students' positive learning experience was evidenced through sustainable consumption classes that applied design thinking. The students were able to reflect through the experience of sympathizing with the real problem, and experienced an improvement in problem-solving ability through the process of idea construction and prototyping. Students expressed difficulties in reaching consensus among the members, and in devising ideas and implementing prototypes. Based on the learning experience of students this study, it is suggested that home economic teachers further develop and implement classes of various topics to which design thinking process is applied. A future study may need to verify the effectiveness of home economic classes to which design thinking is applied.

  • Capstone design course in current domestic software education environment has been opened in undergraduate courses in order to improve student's practical skills. However, the capstone design course is hardly applied the software convergence trend. We opened the capstone design course in not only the students in certain department, but also the students in other departments in order to solve this problem, and then we analyzed the operating results of this capstone design course. In the analyzed result, we find that operation of the convergence capstone design course is enough satisfactory, but we find that the operation of the convergence capstone design course has the limit that the certain department operates individually the convergence capstone design project. Hence, we need that the convergence capstone design course is preferably operated as the department-integration.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop and implement cooperative consumption education programs using design thinking in middle school home economics education classes to understand the impact on students' cooperative problem solving competency. Accordingly, a cooperative consumption education program based on design thinking was developed according to the ADDIE model, and the evaluation was conducted on a total of 25 students. The results of the study were as follows. First, based on prior research, we developed a consumption education program based on D. school's design thinking process under the theme of 'Creating a Shared School' for the practice of cooperative consumption. As a result of expert validity verification of the teaching/learning course plan and workbook for the eight sessions, the average question was 4.72 (out of 5 points) and the average CVI was 0.93, indicating that the content validity and field suitability were excellent. Second, to summarize the results achieved from the implementation of the cooperative consumption education program, the pre-/post-test using the revised and supplemented cooperative problem-solving competency tool, and the open-ended survey, It was confirmed that the developed program had a significant effect on improving not only the students' knowledge and perceived necessity for cooperative consumption along with the awareness of practice, but also the cooperative problem-solving competency. As a follow-up study, we propose to expand the research to a wider audience, and to further conduct research and develop programs applied with design thinking in home economics curriculum and in consumer competency development. This study confirmed that cooperative consumption education programs using design thinking are effective in improving youth's cooperative problem-solving competency and is meaningful in that they developed consumption education programs under the theme of 'cooperative consumption' in response to changing consumer education needs.

  • Universities should provide experiential learning in subject and non-course subjects so that students can graduate with job competency related to their major and the experiential learning includes capstone design implemented on campus and field training conducted by companies. In particular, the decrease in industry participation in short-term (4 weeks) and mid-term field training (8 weeks) due to the implementation of standard field training introduced from the second half of 2021 is making it more difficult for students to gain practical experience. To solve this problem, in this paper, we propose an industry-participatory capstone design & field practice linkage model that combines capstone design and professional practice to solve the technical difficulties of companies. Participating students find solutions to corporate difficulties in the capstone design process and produce prototypes for solutions during the field practice period, focusing on the case of the department of electronic engineering at Gyeongbuk Y University. We believe that it is one of the good models of industry-university cooperation education in which universities and industries win-win.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the elements of green life education reflected in the Korean and Japanese secondary school Home Economics curricula. Although sustainable living at home has been emphasized as one of the main issues of Home Economics since the first curriculum period, green growth education has more reinforced in recent revised Home Economics Curricula of both countries. Thus the 2007 revised secondary school Home Economics Curriculum of Korea and 2008 revised middle school and 2009 revised high school Home Economics Curriculum of Japan were analyzed. The content analyses were done to examine the elements of green life education reflected in 'Characteristics and Objectives', 'Contents', and 'Teaching learning/Contents dealing Strategies' parts of the curriculum through two checking steps. The elements of green life education were included in all parts of the Home Economics Curricula of both countries except the 'Characteristics and Objectives' part of Japanese Curriculum. In both the Korean and Japanese Curricula, the element of green life was the most frequently and concretely reflected in the 'Contents' part, contrary to the 'Characteristics and Objectives' part where the element was the most rarely and abstractly reflected. The practical aspects of the green life education were more emphasized than the theoretical ones in both countries' curricula. The green life educational elements need to be included in all parts of Home Economics curriculum with concrete manner to ensure these elements to be reflected in Home Economics textbooks and to be actively implemented in classroom.
