  • 본 논문에서는 탄성바닥 위에서의 세개의 질량과 두개의 방지재로 구성된 지지계에 의한 진동절연의 이론적 고찰과 실험에 의한 검증을 하였다. 효과 적인 진동절연은 본 논문에서 기본적으로 관심을 가지는 탄성바닥에서의 진 동전달률을 감소시키는 것이며, 단순한 수학적 형태로 표현되는 진동전달률 공식은 영향계수법(Receptance Method)을 이용하여 유도된다.

New Constitutive Equations for Asphalt Binder Fluids (아스팔트바인더 유체를 위한 새로운 특성방정식)

  • Almost most of literatures treat behaviors of asphalt binders as a homogeneous single-phase fluid, but this generalization turns out to be a serious mistake. This study introduces all the characteristic equations for asphalt binders, which are modified or unmodified. Especially, characteristic equations for a unhomogeneous multi-phase fluid for modified asphalts is first time proposed. Characteristics of each equations introduced are explained by employing dynamic shear testing data actually measured for specific asphalt binders. Differences of moving behaviors and characteristic equations between a homogeneous single-phase and a unhomogeneous multi-phase fluid are emphasized. These differences help us understand which characteristic equations must be used for a given asphalt fluid and what kinds of properties must be investigated for analysis of a specific asphalt binder. Results of this study provide how to analyse modified and unmodified asphalts, and informations necessary for binder grading.

Sleeping Beauty: a Garberian Approach (잠자는 미녀 문제에 대한 가버식 해결책)

  • In my previous paper (2009), I defended a solution of the Sleeping Beauty problem, according to which, on Monday, Sleeping Beauty assigns a lower credence to the coin's landing heads than 1/2. This conclusion was largely favorable to the Thirder view. However, even if my defense of the Thirder view was successful, it left one important question to be unanswered: Where did the Halfers go wrong? Their main argument was simple: Because Sleeping Beauty does not receive new and relevant evidence about how the coin lands, her credence in its landing heads should remain to be the same. But note that, if the Thirder view was right and Sleeping Beauty receives no new and relevant evidence, then this becomes a special case of the so-called old evidence problem (Glymour, 1980). In this paper, I will explain why it is rational for Sleeping Beauty to change her credence despite the lack of new evidence about the coin's landing heads. For this explanation, I will use Garber's well-known solution to the old evidence problem.

Self-Consciousness Information and Selection Effect (자기의식 정보와 관찰 선택 효과)

  • In modern cosmology, it is controversial whether the existence of human consciousness can be used as evidence to support the hypothesis that many parallel universes are actualized. In this paper, we want to explore the nature of self-consciousness information that I am awake now. Consider the following experiment participating Al and Bob. We throw a fair coin on Sunday. If the coin lands heads we wake up just one of Al and Bob on Monday. If the coin lands tails we wake up both of Al and Bob. On Monday, at least one of Al and Bob will wake up, to what degree ought they believe that the outcome of the coin toss is heads? We will argue that the correct answer to this question is 1/3. To this end, we will argue the awakened person's information that "I am awake" is given to himself through a random procedure.

Effect of Sulfate Source on Removal Efficiency in Electrokinetic Bioremediation of Phenanthrene-Contaminated Soil (Pnenanthrene-오염토양의 동전기 생물학적복원에서 제거효율에 대한 황산염원의 영향)

  • This study investigated the effect of sulfate source on removal efficiency in electrokinetic bioremediation which needs sulfate to degrade contaminants by an applied microorganism. The representative contaminant and the applied microorganism were phenanthrene and Sphingomonas sp. 3Y, respectively. When magnesium sulfate was used, the magnesium ion combined with hydroxyl ion electrically-generated at cathode to cause the decrease of electrolyte pH, and then the microbial activity was inhibited by that. When ammonium sulfate and disodium sulfate were used to solve the pH control problem, the pH values of electrolyte and soil solution were maintained neutrally, and also the high microbial activity was observed. With the former sulfate source, however, ammonium retarded the phenanthrene degradation, and so the removal efficiency decreased to 12.0% rather than 21.8% with magnesium sulfate. On the other hand, the latter improved the removal efficiency to 27.2%. This difference of removal efficiency would be outstanding for an elongated treatment period.

A Study on the Small Size Loudspeaker for Hi-Fi Low Frequency Sound Reproduction (저음재생용 소형 스피커의 개발에 관한 연구)

  • Following the recent trends of reducing the size of multimedia devices, we tried for the development of a compact-sized speaker to produce low-frequency sounds efficiently. For this work, equivalent-circuit analysis was used to get fundamental resonant frequency and then the structure of speaker components has been changed appropriately. As a result, an 80mm small-sized speaker was developed. The performance test showed that the resonant frequency of our system is 79 Hz while that of numerical analysis was 81Hz. At a distance of 1m from our speaker, the frequency ranges 80 Hz to 15kHz and the average sound pressure was found to be 84±2 dB. The second (at 400 Hz) and the third (at 100 Hz) high-frequency distortions of our system were 0.5% and 1.8% respectively, which is to be compared with the distortions of 0.9% and 6% in conventional speakers.

A Study on the Neutron Activation Analysis of Noble Metals in the Ancient Coin (고전(古錢)내 귀금속 원소의 중성자 방사화 분석에 관한 연구)

  • The determination of noble metals such as Ir, Au and Ag in the ancient coins has been studied. For the measurement of the activity of $^{192}Ir,\;^{198}Au\;and\;^{110m}Ag$, radiochemical separations including solvent extraction and ion-exchange chromatography were applied to reduce the interference of high energy ${\gamma}$-ray emitted from various radionuclides with long half-life. As a results, $10^{-11}$ g/g level of Ir could be detected and it was found that the three kinds of the detection limits, i.e., critical, detection, quantitative limit, calculated by the method proposed by Currie, were enhanced. Prior to the re-irradiation with neutron, inactive carrier was added in order to determine the recovery yield of Ir in the radiochemical separation. The average recovery yields of Ir, Au and Ag in the 5 coins were 65.3%, 98.5%, 99.5%, respectively.

  • On this study, I constructed the reflective acoustic signal detecting system using 15MHz acoustic transducer. The most difficult problems discriminating the characteristics of the metal substance are the discriminating the corrosion state and seeking hidden defects by using none destructive testing. For solving these problems, at first, theoretic analysis has been proceeded on the acoustic V(z) characteristics which is very important on discriminating the material characteristics. For application the V(z) theory to discriminating corrosion state, the 100 and 500 won metal coins which are issued on the different years are used as the test samples. The experimental results showed the distinct differences among the coin's acoustic signals accorded to its issued years. I catched the common regulation by analysing the acquisited acoustic signals and convinced this technique to be very useful on corrosion discrimination of the metal substances by none destructive testing and also can be used to inspect on the aeronautical materials for safety navigation.

  • 듀플렉스 스테인리스강은 페라이트와 오스테나이트 상이 공존하는 특징을 갖는다. 그러한 구조에 의해서 페라이트와 오스테나이트상의 장점을 동시에 갖는 특성이 있다. 높은 강도와, 우수한 내식성, 응력 부식 균열 그리고 낮은 니켈의 함량 때문에 안정적인 가격을 갖는 장점을 갖기 때문에 운송, 기름과 가스, 해양플랜트, 건축 그리고 높은 강도와 우수한 내식성이 필요한 분야에서 수요가 증가할 것으로 사료된다. 이러한 듀플렉스 스테인리스강의 형성에서 페라이트와 오스테나이트상의 균형과 내식성을 개선하기 위해 질소가 첨가된다[1,2]. 본 연구는 저니켈 듀플렉스 스테인리스강(STS 329 FLD)의 공식 형성 과정에서 질소의 함량이 공식 형성과 내식특성에 미치는 영향을 동전위분극, XPS(X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy) 그리고 GDOES(Glow Discharge Optical Emission Spectrometry)를 이용하여 규명하였다. GDOES를 이용하여 깊이별 원소 분포를 정량적으로 비교한 결과, 부동태막에서 질소는 기저에 비하여 증가하였고, 질소의 함량이 증가함에 따라 wt.% 또한 증가하였다. 이러한 부동태막의 깊이별 원소 분포특성이 내식특성과 공식의 크기에 미치는 영향을 동전위분극을 이용하였다. 질소의 함량이 증가하였을 경우, 부식전위는 증가하였으며, 부식전류는 감소하였다. 또한 부동태전류가 감소한 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 차이의 원인을 확인하기 위하여 XPS를 이용하여 질소의 화학적 상태를 확인하였다. 질소는 암모니아의 형태로 존재하는 것으로 확인되었다. 암모니아 상태로 부동태막에 존재함에 따라 공식이 형성될 때, 암모늄 화함물을 형성하여 공식 내부의 산성도를 낮춤으로써 공식의 형성이 억제된 것으로 사료된다. 또한 공식 이후의 표면을 관찰 할 경우 질소의 함량이 증가함에 따라 표면에서 공식이 거의 관찰되지 않았다.
