  • The cadastral surveying is essential for the effective management of a country, the D/B building of NGIS. Many of GPS applications require a positioning accuracy of several centimeters for rover in real-times. But, to achieve higher positioning accuracies in real-time, the double differencing technique should be implemented using carrier phase data. Corrected observations at the reference station can be transmitted and used to form double difference observations at the rover using a data link. In this study, the area accuracy of cadastral survey using the RTK GPS will be assessed, and will produce area of parcel of land. As the result of comparison among area by TS, planer surveying and RTK GPS. parcels-register for site is analyzed by this data. The results show that mean error of area calculated min. $2.42m^{2}{\sim}\;max.\;13.69m^{2}$ and RMSE calculated min. $0.00329\;{\sim}\;max.\;0.01846$.

  • Construction companies are fulfilled in according to project, and it is difficult to execute the standardized process in various construction projects. Thus many construction companies is adopting BPM(Business Process Management) that meet business process change and business improvement. However, it is difficult to apply BPM in a lump because of difference of BPM characteristics and company's strategies. For this reason, it is desirable to select business process based on company's priority. This study indicated need of method for selecting business process through studying current researches, and made BPA for construction company by analyzing business process in construction company. Moreover, this study indicated core business process from a point of profitability and growth view through grasping strategic goal priority. And also, it proposed criteria for process evaluation for BPM adoption, evaluated core business process, and indicated prior business process for BPM adoption.

  • The School Bus Routing Problem(SBRP) seeks to plan an efficient schedule of a fleet of school buses that must pick up student from various bus stops and deliver them by satisfying various constraints; maximum capacity of the bus, maximum riding time of students, arrival time between a school's time window. By extending the existing SBRP, we consider a case study of SBRP with allowance of mixed-loading and dynamic arrivals reflecting the school bus operation of university in Korea. Our solution procedure is based on constructing the initial solution using sweep algorithm and then improving solution within the framework of the evolutionary approach known as efficient meta-heuristics. By comparing the various scenarios through the constraints relaxation for reflecting the real operational strategies, we assess the merit of our proposed procedure.

  • KREONET is a principal national R&E network running by KISTI in Korea. It uniquely provides production research network services for around 200 non-profit research and educational organizations, based on hybrid (IP and non-IP) network infrastructure. However, KREONET is limited to meet various needs of new network services for advanced Science & Technology (S&T) users because its infrastructure is inherently derived form classical hardware-based, fixed and closed environments. So, KREONET-S is designed to provide advanced S&T services to catch up with time-to-research and time-to-collaboration. In this paper, we present a system architecture of KREONET-S based on network infrastructure that consists of data and control planes separately. Furthermore, we propose and describe VDN service which is capable of building a virtual dedicate & bandwidth-guaranteed network for S&T group dynamically. we implement VDN application on KREONET-S and then perform performance analysis for proving that KREONET-S system and VDN application can be a good solutions to cope with new network paradigms for various advanced S&T applications and users.

  • The TMN that appears to operate the various communication networks generally and efficiently is developed under the different platform environment such as the different hardware and the different operating system. One of the main problems is that all the agents of the TMN system must be duplicated and maintain the software and the data blocks that perform the identical function. Therefore, the multi-platform cannot be supported in the development of the TMN agent. In order to overcome these problems, the Farming methodology that is based on the Farmer model has been suggested. With the Farming methodology, the software and the data components which are duplicated and stored in each distributed object are saved in the platform independent class repository (PICR) by converting into the format of the independent componentware in the platform, so that the componentwares that are essential for the execution can be loaded and used statically or dynamically from PICR as described in the framework of each distributed object. The distributed TMN agent of the personal communication network is designed and developed by using the Farmer model.

  • Flash memory has many good features such as small size, shock-resistance, and low power consumption, but the cost of flash memory is still high to substitute for hard disk entirely. Recently, some mobile devices, such as laptops, attempt to use both flash memory and hard disk together for taking advantages of merits of them. However, existing OSs (Operating Systems) are not optimized to use the heterogeneous storage media. This paper presents a new buffer cache management scheme. First, we allocate buffer cache space according to access patterns of block references and the characteristics of storage media. Second, we prefetch data blocks selectively according to the location of them and access patterns of them. Third, we moves destaged data from buffer cache to hard disk or flash memory considering the access patterns of block references. Trace-driven simulation shows that the proposed schemes enhance the buffer cache hit ratio by up to 29.9% and reduce the total I/O elapsed time by up to 49.5%.

  • This paper represents a new approach for the protective relay of power transmission lines using a Artificial Neural Network(ANN). A different fault m transmission lines need to be detected classified and located accurately and cleared as fast as possible. However, The protection range of the distance relay is always designed on the basis of fixed settings, and unfortunately these approach do not have the ability to adapt dynamically to the system operating condition. ANN is suitable for the adaptive relaying and the detection of complex faults. The backpropagation algerian based multi-layer protection is utilized for the teaming process. It allows to make control to various protection functions. As expected, the simulation result demonstrate that this approach is useful and satisfactory.

  • This paper analyzes the propagation speed of the wide-area power system frequency. When a generator supplying the electric power to the grid is accidently tripped due to a disturbance on the systems, power system frequency suddenly drops during the transient period and this propagates from the location of the tripped generator to the other part of the systems like a wave. Since the propagation speed of the power system frequency depends on the own characteristics of power systems, its understanding from the perspective of the wide-area can help us in understanding power systems more correctly. In addition, the propagation speed of the power system frequency is used as a key parameter in the application study of IT based on the internet-based GPS synchronized frequency monitoring network (FENT) which has been recently implemented and operated in U.S. power systems. This paper simulates the generation trip on various locations in U.S. power systems deploying its latest dynamic model and calculates the propagation speed of the power system frequency for the application of FNET.

  • The virtualization layer is executed in higher authority layer than kernel layer and suitable for monitoring operating systems. However, existing virtualization monitoring systems provide simple information about the usage rate of CPU or memory. In this paper, the monitoring system using full virtualization technique is proposed, which can monitor virtual machine's dynamic kernel object as memory, register, GDT, IDT and system call table. To verify the monitoring system, the proposed system was implemented based on KVM(Kernel-based Virtual Machine) with full virtualization that is directly applied to linux kernel without any modification. The proposed system consists of KvmAccess module to access KVM's internal object and API to provide other external modules with monitoring result. In experiments, the CPU utilization for monitoring operations in the proposed monitering system is 0.35% when the system is monitored with 1-second period. The proposed monitoring system has a little performance degradation.

  • Several fields of science have traditionally demanded large-scale workflow support, which requires thousands of central processing unit (CPU) cores. In order to support such large-scale scientific workflows, large-capacity cluster systems such as supercomputers are widely used. However, as users require a diversity of software packages and configurations, a system administrator has some trouble in making a service environment in real time. In this paper, we present a container-based cluster management platform and introduce an implementation case to minimize performance reduction and dynamically provide a distributed computing environment desired by users. This paper offers the following contributions. First, a container-based virtualization technology is assimilated with a resource and job management system to expand applicability to support large-scale scientific workflows. Second, an implementation case in which docker and HTCondor are interlocked is introduced. Lastly, docker and native performance comparison results using two widely known benchmark tools and Monte-Carlo simulation implemented using various programming languages are presented.
