  • The technology of direction finding is very important to find the direction of emitters for ELINT(electronic intelligence) system. The principle of TDOA(time difference of arrival) is to receive an emitter signal with two antennas, measure the time difference between two antennas, and converse the time difference to direction difference. This technology can be used in broadband frequency system and make the system very simple because a phase-discriminator and a voltage comparator are not needed. For fine DF accuracy, high time resolution receiver and long basis line antennas are needed. The DF accuracy of noise added signals is simulated with different time

  • In this paper, we studied a discrete-time queuing system that operates under a mixed situation of D-policy and T-policy, one of the representative server control policies in queuing theory. A single server serves customers arriving by Bernoulli arrival process on a first-in, first-out basis(FIFO). If there are no customers to serve in the system, the server goes on vacation and returns, until the total service time (i.e., total amount of workload) of waiting customers exceeds predetermined workload threshold D. The operation of the system covered in this study can be used to model the efficient resource utilization of mobile devices using secondary batteries. In addition, it is significant in that the steady state waiting time and system sojourn time of the queuing system under a flexible mixed control policy were derived within a unified framework.

  • In this paper, we proposed a new direction finding(DF) technology using TDOA(time-difference of arrival) and PDOA(phase difference of arriving signal) method. The proposed technology has a good DF accuracy without DF ambiguity. TDOA or PDOA technology is used to the most of intelligence systems in 21 century. The principle of TDOA is to receive a signal with two parallel antennas, measure the time difference of arrival signal, and converse the time difference to the direction of incident signal. Those technology make a DF system small size but the DF accuracy is low into short antenna installation distance. The principle of PDOA is similar to TDOA except measuring the phase difference of arrival signal, These technology get a good DF accuracy in short antenna installation distance but have a DF ambiguity. The proposed DF method is simulated into DF system operation environment with noise, and has a good DF accuracy.

  • Wireless multimedia sensor network senses and transfers mass multimedia data. Also, it is sensitive to latency. This thesis proposes a routing technique based on traffic priority in order to improve the network efficiency by minimizing latency. In addition, it proposes a congestion control mechanism that uses packet service time, packet inter-arrival time, buffer usage, etc. In this thesis, we verified the reduction of packet latency in accordance with the quality level of packet as a result of the performance analysis through the simulation method. Also, we verified that the proposed mechanism maintained a reliable network state by preventing packet loss due to network overload.

  • Radar signal analysis of electronic warfare is a technique for identifying a radar type by signal parameters(direction, radion frequency, pulse repetition interval, pulse width, scan period..) extracted from a received radar pulse. However as the modern radar and new threat environments is advanced, radar identification ambiguity arises in the process of identifying the types of radars. In this paper, we analyze the problems of the existing method and propose a new method. This technique determines the validity of the scan period by the difference in the arrival time of the radar pulse and the minimum number of scan period discrimination. Experiments proved that the scan cycle results are derived regardless of the RMS((Root Mean Square) of the input amplitude.

A Discrete Time Queueing Model for Intersection Analysis (교차로 분석을 위한 불연속 대기행렬 모형 개발)

  • 신호화된 교차로의 운영비율을 측정하기 위해 현재 세계적으로 광범위하게 이용되 는 척도는 교차로 통과차량의 평균지체시간이다. 그간 교차로 분석을 위해 많은 대기행렬 모형이 발표되어 왔고 또 그중 일부가 현재 사용 중에 있는데 이들은 모두 steady-state를 가정한 해법이다. 그러나 steady-state 모형은 시간에 따른 대기행렬 길이의 변화를 고려하 지 못하므로 현실적인 분석에 한계가 있는 방법론이다. 그러므로 정당한 교차로 시간산출을 위해서는 time-dependent한 분석형의 개발이 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 discrete Markov chain을 이용하여 단순히 단위시간 동안의 도착율과 출발율로써 transition probabilities를 계산하는 새로운 대기행렬 모형을 개발하였다. 개발된 불연속 대기행렬 모형을 이용하여 교 차로 분석을 할 경우 기존의 교차로 지체모형과 비교하여 기대되는 개선효과는 다음과 같 다. 변화를 고려한 dynamic한 분석으로 현실적이고 정당한 예측을 할 수 있다. 신호자동에 의한 영향을 분석할 수 있다. 그리고 독립적교차로 뿐만 아니라 간선도로, 나아가서 network 분석을 할 수 있으며, 동시에 주어지 교통여건에 대해 신호자동화를 위한 최적값을 산출해 낸다.

  • 본 연구는 폐쇄된 임의의 공간상에서 2개의 마이크로폰 어레이를 이용하여 마이크로폰에 수신된 신호들의 도착 시간차를 추정하는 새로운 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안된 알고리즘은 입력 음성신호를 Discrete wavelet transform을 이용하여 인간의 청각 특성과 가장 유사한 주파수 해상도를 갖도록 대역 분할한 후 각 주파수 대역에서 신호 대 잡음비를 구하여 신호 대 잡음비가 가장 높은 대역만 선택적으로 취하고 해당 대역에서만 최종적인 시간 지연 값을 추정하게 된다. 최종 시간 지연 측정에 사용된 알고리즘은 기존의 CPSP에 해당 대역의 주파수 SNR을 가중치로 주어 구하게된다. 이러한 대역 분할 가중방식은 다양한 형태의 동적인 잡음 환경 하에서 안정적인 성능을 가질 수 있다. 제안된 알고리즘은 저주파와 고주파 각각의 모의 잡음환경 하에서 컴퓨터 실험을 통해 성능을 입증하도록 한다.

Vehicle control system base on the low power long distance communication technology(NB-IoT)

  • In this paper, we developed a vehicle control terminal using IoT and low-power long-distance communication (NB-IoT) technology. This system collects information on the location and status of a parked vehicle, and transmits the vehicle status to the vehicle owner's terminal in real time with low power to prevent vehicle theft, and in the case of a vehicle in motion, When primary information about the vehicle, such as an impact, is collected and transmitted to the server, the server analyzes the relevant data to generate secondary information on traffic congestion, road damage, and safety accidents. By sending it, you can know the exact arrival time of the vehicle at its destination. This terminal device is an IoT gateway for a vehicle and can be connected to various wired and wireless sensors inside the vehicle. In addition, the data collected from vehicle maintenance, efficient operation, and vehicles can be usefully used in the private or public sector.

  • We propose a methods which is reducing direction estimation error of sound source in the reverberant and noisy environments. The proposed algorithm divides speech signal into voice and unvoice using VAD. We estimate the direction of source when current frame is voiced. TDOA (Time-Difference of Arrival) between microphone array using the GCC-PHAT (Generalized Cross Correlation with Phase Transform) method will be estimated in that frame. Then, we compare the peak value of cross-correlation of two signals applied to estimated time-delay with other time-delay in time-table in order to improve the accuracy of source location. If the angle of current frame is far different from before and after frame in successive voiced frame, the angle of current frame is replaced with mean value of the estimated angle in before and after frames.
