  • The purpose of this study is to research and develop so that users who are gradually progressing in the popularization of smartphones and the calculation of agricultural quality can use more active and flexible applications than existing application fields. People use event management applications to remember what they need to do, and maps applications to get to their appointments on time. You will need to build a glue-delivered application that leverages the Maps API to be able to recommend the glove's path for events so that the user can use the application temporarily. By comparing and analyzing currently used calendar, map, and schedule applications, several Open Maps APIs were compared to supplement the weaknesses and develop applications that converge the strengths. The results of application development by applying the optimal algorithm for recommending traffic routes according to time and place for the schedule registered by the user are described.

  • We examine geoeffective directional parameters of coronal mass ejections (CMEs). We select 30 front-side halo CMEs from SOHO LASCO CMEs whose speed is larger than 1000km/s and longitude is less than ${\pm}30^{\circ}$. These are thought to be the most plausible candidate of geoeffective CMEs. We examine the relation between CMEs directional parameters (Earthward direction, eccentricity, ${\Delta}$ distance and central angle parameter) and the minimum value of the Dst index. We have found that the Earthward direction parameter has a good correlation with the Dst index, the eccentricity parameter has a much better correlation with the Dst index. The bo distance and central angle parameter has a poor correlation with the Dst index. It's, however, well correlated with the Dst index in very strong geomagnetic storms. Most of CMEs causing very strong storms (Dst ${\leq}$-200nT) are found to have large Earthward direction parameter $({\geq}0.6)$, small eccentricity, bo distance and central angle parameters $(E{\leq}0.4,\;{\Delta}X\;and\;sin\;{\theta}{\leq}0.2)$. These directional parameters are very important parameters that control the geoeffectiveness of very fast front-side halo CMEs.

  • Recently, various public transportation activation policies are being implemented in order to mitigate traffic congestion in metropolitan areas. Especially in the metropolitan area, the bus information system has been introduced to provide information on the current location of the bus and the estimated arrival time. However, it is difficult to predict the travel time due to repetitive traffic congestion in buses passing through complex urban areas due to repetitive traffic congestion and bus bunching. The previous bus travel time study has difficulties in providing information on route travel time of bus users and information on long-term travel time due to short-term travel time prediction based on the data-driven method. In this study, the path based long-term bus travel time prediction methodology is studied. For this purpose, the training data is composed of 2015 bus travel information and the 2016 data are composed of verification data. We analyze bus travel information and factors affecting bus travel time were classified into departure time, day of week, and weather factors. These factors were used into clusters with similar patterns using self organizing map. Based on the derived clusters, the reference table for bus travel time by day and departure time for sunny and rainy days were constructed. The accuracy of bus travel time derived from this study was verified using the verification data. It is expected that the prediction algorithm of this paper could overcome the limitation of the existing intuitive and empirical approach, and it is possible to improve bus user satisfaction and to establish flexible public transportation policy by improving prediction accuracy.

The Definition of Connecting Flight and Extraterritorial Application of Regulation (EC) No 261/2004: A Case Comment on Claudia Wegener v. Royal Air Maroc SA [2018] Case C-537/17 (EC 261/2004 규칙의 역외적용과 연결운항의 의미 - 2018년 EU사법재판소 Claudia Wegener v. Royal Air Maroc SA 판결의 평석 -)

  • This paper reviews the EU Case, Claudia Wegener v. Royal Air Maroc SA [2018] ECLI:EU:C:2018:361, Case C-537/17. It analyzes some issues as to Wegener case by examining EU Regulations and practical point of views. Article 3(1)(a) of Regulation (EC) No 261/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 February 2004 establishing common rules on compensation and assistance to passengers in the event of denied boarding and of cancellation or long delay of flights, entitled scope, provides: "this Regulation shall apply: (a) to passengers departing from an airport located in the territory of a Member State to which the Treaty applies; (b) to passengers departing from an airport located in a third country to an airport situated in the territory of a Member State to which the Treaty applies, unless they received benefits or compensation and were given assistance in that third country, if the operating air carrier of the flight concerned is a Community carrier." ECJ held that must be interpreted as meaning that Regulation (EC) No 261/2004 applies to a passenger transport effected under a single booking and comprising, between its departure from an airport situated in the territory of a Member State and its arrival at an airport situated in the territory of a third State, a scheduled stopover outside the European Union with a change of aircraft. According to the Court, it is apparent from the regulation and case-law that when, as in the present case, two (or more) flights are booked as a single unit, those flights constitute a whole for the purposes of the right to compensation for passengers. Those flights must therefore be considered as one and the same connecting flight.

  • In this study, by examining the characteristics of boys and girls which would appear in the performance process of Goldberg machine activities, it would be attempted to provide the implications for the development and teaching methods of gifted and talented programs. The object of study was organized into separate 2 groups of boys and girls by each, composed of a total of 16 people among 5th graders of the gifted class in elementary school, located in Gyeonggi province. The final assignment was to make the Goldberg machine in order to have the beads get to the target spot latest, in which the analysis was implemented qualitatively by participating in and observing the performance process of students. After dividing the Goldberg machine activities into the steps of planning, production, outcome, assessment and reflection, their analysis results are as follows: First, in the planning stage, the girls explained minutely the process of Goldberg machine in writing, whereas the boys represented it visually simply. Second, in the production stage, the boys showed the task commitment by trying to realize the machine as designed initially, but the girls showed their appearance to represent it simply and easily. Third, in the sophistication and efficiency of the machine production, the boys were superior to the girls, and in the creativity and diversity of the use of materials, the girls were more excellent. Fourth, in the assessment and reflection, the boys evaluated it individually, and the girls showed their appearance to evaluate it by reflecting others'thinking. Hence, when developing and teaching the gifted and talented programs, it would be required that the teaching and learning contents be recomposed by considering the gender, or that the various class strategies be sought. Further, the broader and more systematic studies, on the performance process of gifted students based on the gender, should be carried out.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the spatial characteristics of travel patterns and travel behaviors of transit users in the Metropolitan Seoul area. We apply the data mining techniques to explore the travel patterns of transit users from the T-money card database which has been produced over 10,000,000 transaction records per day. The database contains the information of locations and times of origin, transfer, and destination points for each transaction as well as the informations of transit modes taken via the transaction. We develop an data mining algorithm to explore traversal patterns from the enormous information. The algorithm determines the travel sequences of each passenger, and produce the volumes of support on each points (stops) of transportation networks in the Metropolitan Seoul area. In order to visualize the spatial patterns of travel demands for transit systems we apply GIS techniques, and attempt to investigate the spatial characteristics of travel patterns and travel demand. Subway stops located in the Gangnam area appear the highest peak for the travel origin and destination, while the CBD in the Gangbuk stands at the second position. Two or three sub-peaks appear at the densely populated residential areas developed as the high-rise apartment complex. Subway stations located along the Subway Line 2, especially from Guro to Samsung receive heavy travel demand (total support), while bus stops located at the CBD in the Gangbuk stands the highest travel demand by bus.

  • The purposes of this paper were: 1) to identify the structural changes of the northeast Asia airport network caused by the pandemic of COVID-19 using social network analysis (SNA) and 2) to suggest proposals for improving airport competitiveness. In this respect, the entire international air routes in northeast Asia airport collected data of 4-10 March 2019 and 9-15 March 2020 through schedules analyzer database of OAG. We found that both the density and centrality have decreased since the spread of COVID-19. The government and airport authorities need active support such as a reduction of various fees and a moratorium on transportation rights to overcome the crisis in the air transport industry. When the COVID-19 situation calms down in the future, we hope that further research will be conducted to identify the structural changes in the SNA aspects through the vast data establishment in countries such as the EU and America.

  • This study is concerned with providing a reliable procedure of calibrating a set of places specific distance parameters and with applying it to U.S. inter-State migration flows between 1985 and 1900. It attempts to conform to recent advances in quantitative geography that are characterized by an integration of ESDA(exploratory spatial data analysis) and local statistics. ESDA aims to detect the spatial clustering and heterogeneity by visualizing and exploring spatial patterns. A local statistic is defined as a statistically processed value given to each location as opposed to a global statistic that only captures an average trend across a whole study region. Whereas a global distance parameter estimates an averaged level of the friction of distance, place-specific distance parameters calibrate spatially varying effects of distance. It is presented that a poisson regression with an adequately specified design matrix yields a set of either origin-or destination-specific distance parameters. A case study demonstrates that the proposed model is a reliable device of measuring a spatial dimension of migration, and that place-specific distance parameters are spatially heterogeneous as well as spatially clustered.

  • Background: The quality of care for patients with community acquired pneumonia needs to be improved; the factors affecting this care need to be analyzed. The objectives of this study were used to measure the performance of care processes of for patients with pneumonia and to determine those patient and hospital characteristics are associated with quality care. Methods: The analysis was performed using data from 21 hospitals that had over 500 beds for 1,001 patients, who were sampled randomly. All patients were born before 31 December 1989, and discharged between the two months' August 2006 and October 2006. Performance process indicators were measured by respective hospital, and multivariate logistic regression was used to calculate associations between patients and hospital characteristics using 4 process indicators. Results: Performance rates in timely assessment of oxygenation assessments and blood cultures, correct administration of antibiotic medications, and blood culture performed prior to initial antibiotics were 69.4%, 79.1%, 82.5% and 60.5%, respectively. Age had a positive affect on oxygenation assessment within 24 hours. Bed number, number of nurses per bed, annual number of emergency department visits, average percentage of beds filled, location and arrival time, and site were factors associated with process indicators. Conclusion: It is necessary to make up for the weak points in the process of care for patients with community acquired pneumonia, by enforcing quality assurance. To reduce performance rate variation among hospitals, improvement in care protocols is required for hospitals that have poor quality of care levels.
