  • The setting of values on door hinge mounting compensation for door assembly tolerance is a constant quality issue in vehicle production. Generally, heuristic methods are used in satisfying appropriate door gap and level difference, flushness to improve quality. However, these methods are influenced by the engineer's skills and working environment and result an increasement of development costs. In order to solve these problems, the system which suggests hinge mounting compensation value using CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) analysis is proposed in this study. A structural analysis model was constructed to predict the door gap and level difference, flushness through CAE based on CAD (Computer Aided Design) data. The deformations of 6-degrees of freedom which can occur in real vehicle doors was considered using a stiffness model which utilize an analysis model. The analysis model was verified using 3D scanning of real vehicle door hinge deformation. Then, system model which applying the structural analysis model suggested the final adjustment amount of the hinge mounting to obtain the target door gap and the level difference by inputting the measured value. The proposed system was validated using the simulation and showed a reliability in vehicle hinge mounting compensation process. This study suggests the possibility of using the CAE analysis for setting values of hinge mounting compensation in actual vehicle production.

  • In order to reduce the cost and weight of the soft-foamed instrument-panel (IP), it was developed the new IP which is made by the two kinds of injection methods. One is the compression-injection with back-foamed foil inserted, and the other is two-shot injection with the passenger airbag door. We named it 'IMX-IP' which means that all components ('X') of the IP with different resins are made in a mold. The development procedure of this technology was introduced (1) Design of the new injection mold through TRIZ method, (2) Optimization of the injection conditions and back foamed-foil for minimizing the foam loss and thickness deviation, (3) Development of CAE for two-shot injection compression, (4) Reliability performance test and application to the mass production. The reduction of the processes through the two-shot injection with back foamed-foil inserted made it possible to enhance soft feeling on IP and reduce the cost and weight simultaneously.

  • In the case of door locks most widely used in the market, the most used area as a one-dimensional problem is worn out, and a worn area which does not use a special attack method enables password guessing. To solve this problem, various methods such as a keypad for randomly displaying numbers are introduced, but this is also not completely safe. The common feature of all the solutions so far is that the keypad area is fixed. In this paper, we consider that point in reverse and create a new area smaller than the entire area in the entire area of the keypad, making the keypad of the new area move randomly, thereby preventing the password from being deduced. When using this technique, a new type of keypad is proposed for the first time because of the impossibility of a shoulder surfing attack even though the number of keypad is left as it is.

  • The mounting performance of the GFRP(Glass fiber Reinforced Plastic) beam and the mechanical mounting of the steel bracket was studied to be mounted as a GFRP impact beam on the side door of the passenger car. Moreover, an open-hole tensile test was performed to evaluate breakage tendency based on GFRP stacking conditions. Furthermore, the tightening strength of rivets and bolts was compared using the single lap-shear tension test for the GFRP stacking pattern. Additionally, the GFRP beam and bracket mounting features were designed; moreover, the prototype and bracket were assembled. Additionally, the bracket mounting bending test and the door assembly static bending test were performed to verify the stability of the bracket mounting. In the bracket fastening bending test, no breakage occurred in the connection part between the GFRP beam and the bracket, and it showed 67% (24.4 kN) improved performance compared to steel. In the static bending test of the door assembly, the initial average reaction force increased by 25% compared to the steel, and the performance of all FMVSS-214 regulations was satisfied. The replacement of GFRP impact beams resulted in a 30% weight reduction

  • With the spread of IoT technology, various IoT applications using facial recognition are emerging. This paper describes the design and implementation of a remote control system using deep learning-based face recognition and hand gesture recognition. In general, an application system using face recognition consists of a part that takes an image in real time from a camera, a part that recognizes a face from the image, and a part that utilizes the recognized result. Raspberry PI, a single board computer that can be mounted anywhere, has been used to shoot images in real time, and face recognition software has been developed using tensorflow's FaceNet model for server computers and hand gesture recognition software using OpenCV. We classified users into three groups: Known users, Danger users, and Unknown users, and designed and implemented an application that opens automatic door locks only for Known users who have passed both face recognition and hand gestures.

  • A secure index search protocol let us search the index of encrypted documents using the trapdoor for a keyword. It enables an untrusted server to learn nothing more than the search result about the documents without revealing the keyword. A lot of secure search protocols have been suggested but they only considered the search between a single-user and a server. In real organizations such as government offices or enterprises where exist many hierarchical departments, the search system for groups is arisen more often. In this paper, we construct secure index search protocols for hierarchical group settings without re-encryption of the old encrypted documents when group keys are re-keyed newly.

  • To provide efficient keyword search on encrypted data, a public key encryption with keyword search (PEKS) was proposed by Boneh et al. A sender encrypts an e-mail and keywords with receiver's public key, respectively and uploads them on a server. Then a receiver generates a trapdoor of w with his secret key to search an e-mail related with some keyword w. However, Byun et al. showed that PEKS and some related schemes are not secure against keyword guessing attacks. In this paper, we propose a public key encryption with keyword search for restricted testability (PEKS-RT) scheme and show that our scheme is secure against keyword guessing attacks.

  • There have been a lot of researches on providing privacy in MANET (Mobile Ad hoc NETwork) using trapdoor, onion, and anonymous authentication. Privacy protection in MANET can be divided into satisfying ID privacy, location privacy, route privacy, and unlinkability between sessions. Most of the previous works, however, were unsatisfactory with respect to location privacy or route privacy. Moreover, in previous schemes, cryptographic operation cost needed to meet the privacy requirements was relatively high. In this paper, we propose a new efficient anonymous routing protocol that satisfies all the privacy requirements and reduces operation costs. The proposed scheme does not use onion or anonymous authentication techniques in providing privacy. We also provide a more accurate analysis of our scheme's efficiency by considering all the nodes involved in the route establishment.

  • In this paper, automotive safety and convenience service is proposed based on bluetooth and smart watch. The proposed service performs accident detection, kidnapping detection, kid-left-alone-in-car detection, parking location recording, and smart key function. Conventional smartphone services often fails to precisely recognize accident and kidnapping situations since smartphone is located on the dashboard or in the bag. On the contrary, smartwatch recognizes accident and kidnapping situations more precisely since it is always worn on the wrist with hearbeat monitoring. The proposed service recognise various situations around drives and passengers using acceleration sensor, GPS sensor, heartbeat sensor and bluetooth link status. It also performs accident notice, sound recording, and other necessary actions. It also performs door opening, door closing, hazard light flickering, and other necessary actions using OBD-II connection to the vehicle.

  • Electric shutters for buildings are being developed in Korea and abroad on a regular basis and can be used in different types of buildings such as company buildings and fire stations, etc. However, the fall risk factors induced by a variety of functions of building electric shutters require safety control. We reviewed the technological trends and legal standards in Korea and abroad, analyzed incident cases, and identified fall risk factors requiring control. We inspected all the building electric shutters in Korea based on the fall risk factors. As a result, we identified 91 noncompliance cases, in 69 percent of all 132 locations. In this study, backed by the inspection results, we suggest a check list to prevent the fall of building electric shutters to ensure safety and conduct verification using a focus group interview.
