The study aims to investigate the perception of RDA by domestic university library librarians, the current status and plan of RDA application in university libraries, and propose considerations for establishing RDA in domestic university libraries. Through literature review, questionnaire items were prepared to investigate librarians' perception of RDA and the status of RDA in university libraries, and the application status of cataloging rules and education status of cataloging rules in Korea were investigated. Based on the results of the survey, the conversion of the cataloging rules from AACR2 to RDA requires expansion of RDA education and development of curriculum for librarians, and efforts and support such as preparing RDA format and application guidelines at the library level. At the level of national institutions such as the National Library of Korea, implications such as the necessity of enacting RDA application guidelines were presented.

This study reports the result of the survey on collection management from 154 school libraries in Korea. The questionnaire is consisted of three section: state of collection, state of book use, and collection management system. Results reveal that (1) elementary schools and middle schools have many books for each student compared to the KLA's School Library Standards; (2) the component ratio of literature books is the biggest in school library collections; (3) the ratio of library book use is overwhelmingly higher in elementary schools than middle schools and high schools; (4) 64.6 percent of library books in the sample are never used during 2013-2015; (5) 74 percent of libraries have its own collection management document; (6) Almost all schools compose its own committee for library management, the committee plays an important roles in the communication among school members, collection development and promotion.

The purpose of this study is to examine the status of Korean library staffs and their role who were alienated as a subjugated class in Japanese Colonial Era and re-evaluate their effort. For these, firstly, this study investigated libraries that Korean librarian worked and the status of Korean staffs. Secondly, examined their position and its role in the library. Lastly, investigated the status of Korean librarians' participation for training and submission of magazine related to library. As a result, in Japanese Colonial Era, there were totally 241 Korean library staffs in 27 libraries. 73 and 22 librarians each attended the Library Institute and The 29th National Library Conference. And contributors to major library magazins were reached to 40. With this result, it can be evaluated that these library staffs made some parts of efforts making modern libraries in Korea.

본 연구의 목적은 중국 연변조선족자치구에 현존하는 각종 유형의 도서관문헌 정보사업 현황과 문제점을 밝히는데 있다. 본 연구의 의의는 공개된 자료가 미미하고 정형화된 자료가 부족한 상황에서 실태조사를 병행하여 상세한 정보를 제공한 점이다. 도서관의 현대화작업은 90 년대 후반기부터 컴퓨터를 도입하여 전개되기 시작하였고, 연변과학기술대학도서관의 경우는 현대화된 시설을 갖추고 한국의 선진 도서관리 방법을 도입하여 도서관을 운영하고 있으나, 기타 도서관들은 부분적으로 전자 연람실을 구축하여 서비스하고 있다. 그러나 현재 조선족자치주 대부분의 도서관들은 자금부족으로 현대화된 도서관을 구축하지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 앞으로 지도층에서의 중점사업으로의 추진과 서부대개발사업의 우대정책을 통해 자금 확보를 도모하여 도서관의 현대화 건설의 추진을 기해야 할 것이다.

The study aims at understanding current states and problems for multi-cultural families in libraries. The study examined multicultural services in Korean libraries as well as overseas. The study analyzed library services and education problems of multicultural families based on multicultural model, assimilationist model, and differential exclusionary model. The study surveyed multi-cultural services librarians and educators as well as immigrants and children who have participated in multicultural problems, and finally analyzed problems and requirements of programs for multicultural families.
