The task of this essay deals with the China's Cultural Rise in analizing the power of media and 'Go Global' policy. The phenomena of Chinese cultural hegemony over Asia beg study. I review the Chinese cultural industry going global. The notion of cultural hegemony is introduced in this study, in order to explain the rise of China accelerating a penetration and influence of Chinese cultural capital and its power. A peaceful rise of China links to its cultural hegemony over Asian countries. Currently, China has not sufficiently enjoyed the soft power due to its lack of globally accepted ideological dynamics in China's culture and media. But in the near future, market-driven Chinese cultural capital and contents will replace Korean ones.

대중음악이 영화와 함께 당대의 문화를 규정하는 지배적인 장르이긴 하나 아직 그에 관한 '사유'의 문은 열어젖히지 못하고 있는 게 현실이다. 브로마이드성 짙은 십대 취향의 잡지나 쉴 새 없이 쏟아지는 노래악보집 정도가 고작이다. 그런 가운데 최근 젋은 이론가들이 저널리즘 지평에 속속 모습을 드러내고 있다.

This study, by analyzing two recent television dramas, attempts to identify the ways how popular cultural texts deal with supernatural beings and to discuss political meanings of the ways in the context of neoliberal Korea. The results are: (1) The narratives make a clear line between the supernatural and the ordinary. (2) The supernatural is effectively used in the narratives to extend the boundary of conflict structure towards structural social problems that the society is now facing. (3) When the text resolving the conflicts, the supernatural is also critical, which makes the whle narrative in line with fantasy rather than reality. These results suggest that the conclusion of the previous studies, arguing the use of the supernatural by popular cultural texts tends to function as a form of resistance against neoliberal discourse structure, needs to be negotiated. It is also reaffirmed that we need to explain political meanings of popular cultural texts dealing with supernatural beings, with its double-sided and ambivalent effects.

'Kitsch', having emerged after the Industrial Revolution in the 19th century, has been playing a role of interconnecting pop culture with high level culture, now claiming new aesthetic values in a variety of pop cultures of our industrialized modern society and holding its position as a cultural phenomenon. In the realm of fashion which is very much attached to everyday life, kitsch has also been expressing new forms of beauty through the liberation from and destruction of the fixed ideas. This study addresses the issues as to how we obtain the basic understanding of kitsch and shows how it was expressed in the fashion of the actors starring in the recently released Korean comedy movies.

In modern society, popular music is becoming a reflection of public consciousness, and due to advances in technology, pop music culture is gradually spreading both quantitative and qualitatively as it provides access to popular music in a variety of different ways. K-pop has become more important to society as it reflects the social status of the day, showing the most active activities and influences at home and abroad. In this study, we revealed the definitions and characteristics of K-POP and K-POP fandom. Then, a survey was conducted on the fandom of BTS, A.R.M.Y, which can represent K-POP fandom. The survey looked at the general perception of K-pop fandom's archives, the current status of its collection and production records, the perception of popular music archives, and the donation and commission of their records. At the results, we proposed utilization plans of K-POP fandom records, for developing popular music archives.
