The effect of leadership types on achievement goal orientation of the athletes in Physical Education High Schools (지도자의 리더십 유형이 체육고등학교 운동선수들의 성취목표성향에 미치는 영향)

  • To study the influence of leadership types on achievement goal orientation of high school athletes, Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ) and Task and Ego Orientation in Sport Questionnaire (TEOSQ) were used to two-hundred-ninety athletes in Physical Education High Schools. The data from the survey were analyzed by SPSS 19.0 and the results of the analysis were as in the following. First, there were meaningful differences in the leadership factors according to the demographic characteristics. Male athletes tended to be more conscious of the individualized consideration(transformation leadership), contingent reward, management by exception(transactional leadership) of the leadership factors. Second, there were differences in athletes' achievement goal orientation. Comparing to the female athletes, male athletes gave more importance on the task goal orientation. Third, there were differences in the leader's leadership types on the athlete's achievement goal orientation. The athletes with self goal orientation and the individualized consideration (transformational leadership) of leadership types showed statistically meaningful differences. The athletes with high self goal orientation had a negative relationship to the individualized consideration and a positive relationship to the intellectual stimulation. The athletes with task goal orientation showed differences in the transactional leadership as well as in the contingent reward.

The emotional response that has an influence on achievement goal and ability to performance of senior citizen sport instructor (노인체육 지도자에 대한 참여자의 감정반응이 성취목표와 수행능력에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to determine whether if the emotional response of participants influences senior citizens at a senior citizen center and to develop the qualities and skills of the instructors of the senior citizens. Not only will we provide effective materials but also provide basic materials as well. The emotional response of interpersonal relationships, achievement goal of ability to performance, and influence of orientating themselves. Additionally, the emotional response of interpersonal relationships, ability to concentrate, and confidence. Finally, the achievement goal of task orientation, concentration of ability to performance on orientating oneself, as well as confidence. Therefore, we will be able to determine if the emotional response of a participant influences achievement of a goal and of the effectiveness of senior citizen instructors. This will not only help with practical and cultural issues, but will close the distance between the instructors participants based on consideration of their situational aspects. Furthermore, the sports activities and continued participation of the elderly. Always need to be ready mentally, and rather than the consideration of others as well as the game results, it is important to have an interest in achieving their own standards. Instructors toned to lend support while setting goals for the participants so that they contribute to the personal development and overall quality of life of the participants.

Determination of performance level using achievement goal orientation and self-management test: for youth soccer players (성취목표성향과 자기관리 검사를 이용한 경기력 수준 판별: 청소년 축구선수를 대상으로)

  • This study was conducted to find out whether excellent and non-excellent players could be distinguished by the achievement goal orientation(task-orientation, ego-orientation) test and the self-management(physical, interpersonal, training, mental management) test targeting youth soccer players. The subject of this study were 299 players(144 middle school students, 155 high school students) including 131 representative players by age and 168 general players who registered with the Korea Football Association. The questionnaires for data collection include the Task & Ego Orientation in Sport Questionnaire(TEOSQ) developed by Duda and Nicholls(1989) and the athlete self-management questionnaire(ASMQ) developed by Heo Jeong-hoon(2003) was used. For data analysis, frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, and discriminant analysis were performed using SPSS 23 version. As a result of analyzing the data, task orientation and ego orientation, which are sub-factors of achievement goal orientation, were both confirmed as tests that did not discriminate between excellent and non-excellent players. On the other hand, the self-management test was confirmed as a test that can discriminate between excellent and non-excellent players in body management, training management, and mental management excluding interpersonal management among the sub-factors of self-managemnet. In particular, among self-management, mental management was identified as the most important factor in discriminating between excellent and non-excellent athletes.

Relationship of Social Skills & Social Support from Family and Friends to Adjustment Between Children and Adolescents (아동과 청소년의 사회적 기술과 가족 $[\cdor}$ 친구의 지원 및 적응과의 관계)

  • This study focused on the relationship of social skills and social support from family and friends to adjustment between children and adolescents. Subjects were enrolled in the fifth, sixth, 1st, & 2nd grades of elementary and junior high schools. The instruments were Teenage Inventory of Social Skills, Perceived Social Support from Family & Friends, Child Depression Inventory, and Antisocial Behavior Scale. Results indicated that there were positive relations between social skills and social support from family and friends. The more social support from family children and adolescents had, the less depression and antisocial behavior they reported. For depression, children and adolescents showed a significant sex difference. In the case of antisocial behavior, only adolescents revealed a significant sex difference. Depression was explained by social support from family most for both children and adolescents. Antisocial behavior was explained by social skills most especially for children. The results discussed in the context of the effects of social skills and social support on emotional and behavioral adjustments.

Relationship between Perfectionism and Job Stress of Archery Trainers (양궁지도자의 완벽주의 성향과 직무스트레스의 관계)

  • The purpose of this study was to verify the relationship between perfectionism and job stress of archery trainers. Participants of this study were 113 archery trainers who worked at the middle and high school's archery teams. Some of the archery trainers who participated in korea archery championship for junior in 2007 were selected using the purposive sampling method. The questionnaire was Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale developed by Hewitt and Flett(1991) which was revised by Lim(2005) into Korean and The Job Stress Scale developed by Jo(1998). Responses were made on 5-point and 7-point scale. The statistical methods for the analysis of this study were Pearson's correlation and multiple regression analysis. The results of this study were as follows. First, there was self perfectionism, person perfectionism, social perfectionism highly on the perfectionism of archery trainers and job condition stress, game stress, job load stress, support system stress, interpersonal relation stress highly on the job stress. Second, there was statistical significant relation between the job condition stress, game stress, job load stress and self perfectionism, between the game stress, job load stress and person perfectionism. Third, self perfectionism affect on job condition stress and self and person perfectionism affect on game stress, job load stress.

A Study on the Consumer Factors Influencing the Choice of Channel in the Brokerage Transaction (증권거래 채널 선택에 영향을 미치는 소비자 요인에 대한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the consumer factors influencing the channel choice in the brokerage transaction. The 14 consumer factors were extracted from the two perspectives: first, the off-line channel is based on the relational benefits offered by the salespeople, second, the on-line stock exchange is a transaction mediated by the internet technology. The results shows that the channel choice is significantly influenced by the 8 out of 14 consumer factors hypothesized: interpersonal orientation, risk-taking tendency, amount of money invested, price consciousness, time length of internet usage, innovativeness, information privacy sensitivity, intrinsic desire for information. And the results of discriminant analysis shows that three consumer factors-risk-taking tendency, time length of internet usage, and information privacy sensitivity-are most valuable in discriminating off-line vs. on-line customers.

Influence of Ego-Resilience, Critical Thinking Disposition, and Self Leadership on Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy in Nursing Students (간호대학생의 자아탄력성, 비판적사고 성향, 셀프리더십이 진로결정자기효능감에 미치는 영향)

  • This study examined the effects of ego-resilience, critical thinking disposition, and self leadership on the career decision-making self-efficacy among nursing students. Undergraduate nursing students (N=341) were sampled randomly from nursing departments in two cities. Data collection was conducted from May 11 to June 5, 2015. The participants completed a questionnaire assessing the ego-resilience, critical thinking disposition, self leadership, and career decision-making self-efficacy. The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-tests, ANOVAs, Pearson's correlations, and multiple regression. Career decision-making self-efficacy was varied by application motivation, satisfaction with one's major, personality traits, and interpersonal relationship; Self leadership was the most influential factor predicting the career decision-making self-efficacy, followed by critical thinking disposition, and satisfaction with one's major and personality traits. Therefore, these results highlight the need to devise an appropriate program to improve self-leadership and critical thinking, which will contribute to the career-related behaviors of nursing students.

The Relations between the Family Functioning and Interpersonal Relation Disposition - Focused High School Students in Gyeonggi South Area - (가족 기능성과 대인관계 성향과의 관계 - 경기남부지역 고등학생을 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the relations between family functioning and the interpersonal relation disposition of high school students in southern Gyeonggi province. The subjects of this study were 360 high school students. The scale of family functioning was measured using the Family Adaptability Cohesion Evaluation Scale(FACES Ⅲ) developed by Olson, et al.(1985). To measure the interpersonal relation disposition, Ahn's Interpersonal Relation Disposition Scale(IRDS) was used. The data was analyzed by using t-test, ANOVA, and multiple comparison(Duncan test). The major findings were as follows: There were significant differences in student's family functioning and interpersonal relation disposition according to school department and family economy level. There were significant differences in the interpersonal relation disposition according to gender. Where family functioning was higher, the students' interpersonal relation dispositions were more sympathetic, accepting and socially friendly, while being less rebellious and distrustful. As a result of this study, it is found that family functioning has effects on high school students' interpersonal relation disposition.

Associations between Interpersonal Dispositions, Social Support, and Depression among High School Students (고등학생의 대인관계성향, 사회적 지지와 우울 간의 관련성)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to understand interpersonal dispositions and social support among high school students and identify factors associated with depression. Methods: A total of 604 students (320 males and 284 females) from four high schools conveniently sampled from high schools in the Incheon area participated in a self-administered survey. Results: According to hierarchical multiple regression analysis, the following factors significantly affected the participants' depression levels with the explanatory power of 30.6%: grade, perceived health status, sympathetic-acceptable personality, sociable-friendly personality, rebellious-distrustful personality, parent support, peer support, and the support from community. Conclusion: In this study, interpersonal dispositions and social support were positively associated with depression. These results suggest that strengthening personal relations and social support can help high school students in terms of mental health and suicide prevention.

Factors Influencing Problem Solving Abilities of Nursing Students (간호대학생의 문제해결능력에 미치는 융복합적 영향요인)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate convergent factors which influence nursing students' problem solving abilities. Participants were 224 nursing students selected by convenience sampling at universities in Seoul, Chungnam-do, and Ulsan. Data were collected using a questionnaire from 6 March to 20 April, 2013. The SPSS/WIN 21.0 program was used for data analysis. There were positive correlations between problem solving abilities and critical thinking, empathy, nursing professionalism, self leadership. Participants who had good GPA(Grade point average) and interpersonal relationship more likely to have better problem solving abilities than those who did not. The influencing factors on problem solving abilities of nursing students were critical thinking, empathy, nursing professionalism, self leadership, grade point average, and satisfaction for practicum. These findings imply that we need to develop and apply new instruction strategies on fostering critical thinking, empathy, nursing professionalism, self leadership to improve nursing students' problem solving abilities.
