Estimation of Volume-Area-Depth Relationship for Shallow Wetland (습지의 체적-면적-깊이에 대한 관계식 추정)

  • The wetland has very important functions in hydrologic and ecological aspects and the research of wetland functions requires the basic hydrological properties such as water quantity. However, we do not have a research work on the hydrological properties for a wetland study in Korea. Therefore, this study is to estimate the relations between the volume(V), the area(A), and the depth(h) of water in the wetland which might be the basis for the wetland research in Korea. To estimate the relations, we derive the basic equations, obtain the surveyed data and do modelling, and estimate the relations of A-h and V-h using the Surfer program. The estimated and observed volumes for 5-wetland are compared and the errors are in the range of 2 % to 11 % for 4-wetland and 34 % for the rest. The wetlands in small errors showed the similar ones with the profile of the wetted perimeter which is assumed for the derivation of the equation but the wetland of large error has much different profile with the assumed one. We re-estimate the volumes for 3-wetland(W3, W4, W5) which showed the large errors due to the bended profiles of the wetland slopes. say, after the slopes was divided into two parts of upper and lower ones, the volumes were estimated. From our re-estimation, we obtained very good results ranged from 1 % to 8 % in their errors. We conjecture that the procedure suggested in this study might be useful as a reference for the future research on the relations of V-A-h in Korea.

  • An improved model for predicting the reinforced concrete element behavior under dynamic strain rates was developed using the layer modeling technique. The developed strain rate sensitive model for axial/flexural analysis of reinforced concrete elements was uses to predict the test results, performed at different loading rates, and the predictions were reasonable. The developed analysis technique was used to study the loading rate sensitivity of reinforced concrete beams and columns with different geometry and material properties. Two design formulas for computing the loading rate dependent axial and flexural strengths of reinforced concrete sections were also suggested.

  • This paper presents a dynamic characteristics of flow induced vibration of circular cylinder set with inclined angle against flow direction. The effect of the cylinder bounded by spiral fin and wire on the damping of flow induced vibration is investigated, i.e., inclined angle, spiral pitch angle and number of spiral thread are studied. As the results, the cylinder with spiral fin is most effective for the damping. Also the cylinder bounded by pitch angle 50.deg. and 2 spiral thread is most effective.

An Experimental Study on the Strengh and Ductility of High-Strength Flexural Members (고강도 휨재의 강도와 연성에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • The strength and ductility of steel flexural members are investigated experimentally in this study. As for the performance evaluation of flexural members. experimental studies on the 9 test specimens were carried out. Four specimens were fabricated from SM490 and five specimens were fabricated from SM570. The experimental results of the specimens were analyzed with focus on the flexural strength and ductility. The experimental results exhibited that all the specimens provided sufficient flexural strengthes which exceeded the nominal flexural strengthes specified in the current Limit State Design Specification by average ratio of 1.22. However. the experimental results showed that the compact-section specimens fabricated from SM570 did not provide the required rotational ductility. The yield-to-tensile strength ratio(YR) of SM570 of about 0.9 might be the causes of such insufficient capacities.

  • The air ventilation system of operation rooms has been studied for the prevention of cross infection during the operation. Operation rooms and air ventilation systems of three University hospitals are investigated. The distribution of microbe is measured by cultivating air samples in the operation room. A two-dimensional model for the cross-section of an operation room is developed for the CFD analysis. The characteristics of air flow in operation room are calculated by using a CFD program. The current air ventilation system of an old hospital does not deliver the clean air to the operation area efficiently. A new air ventilation method which improves air venting with little increase of the cost of equipment is suggested.

  • The Beacon Mounds play a important role in defence and communication extending from the period of the Three States to the period of Chosun. About the research of beacon mounds have focused on investigation in old literature. This research analyzed geographic factors such as altitude, cross section, distance and visible distance affect in selecting location of beacon mounds. And it was presumed how each beacon mound geographic characteristics was considered in selecting location of beacon mounds. As a result, it is presumed that communicating among beacon mounds and watching the coast were affected by geographic characteristics and selecting location of beacon mounds was considered by several geographic factors.

  • This study is a basic experimental research to apply FRP (Fiber Reinforced Polymer) box members to slabs and girders among various architectural structures, which receive bending stress. We prepared prefabricated FRP member and connected it to an FRP box member as a large cross section before we conducted an experiment in diverse conditions to analyze characteristics of compressive fracture behavior. In this study, we carried out a compressive fracture behavior test according to fillers on the upper part of the FRP box member, loading methods, and connective types and thereby performed a finite element analysis. The comparison of analysis results with test results revealed that rigidity was found to be slightly low, while stress was concentrated on the fracture point of the sample.

  • Abstract The surface of 6H - SiC bulk crystal grown by sublimation process was investigated by optical microscope observation. Since, in the 6H crystal growing, the crystal had the habitual step growth attitude such that the lateral growth rate along the random a - axis orientation was higher than that along the c - axis of the growth direction, then many steps were developed. There were, also, many micropipes on the surface in the form of as-like large voids. However, they were differenciated with pores and cross- sectional shape of them were close to the circle. In this study, many micropipes, planar defects and the growth steps appeared on the grown crystal surface were investigated.

스퍼터링으로 제조된 비정질 카본박막의 특성

  • 비정질 카본 박막은 다이아몬드와 유사한 높은 경도, 내마모성, 윤활성, 전기절연성, 화학적 안정성, 그리고 광학적 특성을 가진 재료로서 플라즈마 CVD를 이용한 합성방법으로 제조된 박막이 주로 연구되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 마그네트론 스퍼터링을 이용하여 다양한 조건의 카본 박막을 제조하였다. 카본 박막의 제조는 이온빔이 장착된 고진공 증착 장치를 이용하였고 시편의 청정시 사용된 이온빔의 조건은 빔 전압이 500V, 빔 전류는 0.1mA/cm2로 기판 청정을 거친 후 DC 마그네트론 스퍼터링을 이용하여 흑연을 증발시켜 박막을 제조하였다. 기판과 타겟의 거리는 13cm로 고정시킨 후 타겟 전류는 1A로 유지하면서 30분간 증착하였다. 기판은 Si-wafer와 glass를 주로 사용하였으며 기판 인가전압, 아세틸렌 유량, 기판 온도등을 변화시켜가면서 각각 카본 박막을 제조하였다. 비정질 카본박막의 막은 평균 두께는 0.4~1.2$\mu\textrm{m}$이며 SEM을 이용하여 단면의 성장구조를 관찰하였다. 라만 분광분석과 FTIR 분광분석을 통하여 비정질 카본 박막의 결합특성을 조사하였고 scratch tester를 이용하여 박막의 밀찰력을 관찰하였다. 제조된 박막의 두께는 아세틸렌 가스 이용시 1$\mu\textrm{m}$ 이상의 박막의 제조가 가능하였으며 카본 박막의 라만 분광특성은 고체 탄소 물질의 S와 G-peak으로 구성되어 있으며 기판 인가전압, 아세틸렌 가스 유량 변화에 따른 peak의 위치 이동 및 FWHM의 변화를 관찰하였다. RFIR 결과는 아세틸렌 가스의 유량이 증가에 따라 C-H 결합 분포가 증가며 기판 인가 전압이 증가할수록 C-H 결합분포가 감소하는 경향이 나타냈다. 이는 이온 충돌 효과에 따라 결합력이 약한 C-H 결합이 우선적으로 파괴되는 현상으로 생각되어 진다. Scartch tester 측정 결과 박막의 밀착력은 실험조건에 따른 경샹성은 보이고 있지 않으나 10N 정도이며 60N 이상의 강한 밀착력을 가진 박막도 제조되었다.

  • 본 연구에서는 PMP 조건하에서 농업용 목적의 시례저수지의 가상붕괴에 따른 홍수파 해석을 통해서 하류부에 대한 수리학적 분석을 실시하였다. 그리고, 사력댐으로 구성된 댐 제체의 붕괴로 인한 유사 이송을 모의하고 이로 인한 하류부에서의 영향을 분석하였다. 이를 위하여 경상남도 김해에 위치한 시례저수지 유역을 대상으로 수리 수문자료 및 하천현황을 상세히 조사하고 댐의 가상 붕괴로 인한 하류부 홍수파 해석 및 댐 본체의 유실에 따른 유사의 이송으로 인해 발생 가능한 하류부에서의 영향을 분석하였다. 시례저수지의 댐 형식은 흙댐으로써, 구성방식은 침하량이 적은 중심코아형이며 댐 높이는 34.3 m, 유역면적은 3.13 km이다. 본 연구에서는 하천에서의 흐름과 유사이송 계산이 가능한 1차원 수치 모형인 CCHE1D를 이용하였다. 적용 모형은 확산파 및 동역학적 방정식을 모두 고려한다. 또한, 비평형 이송 모형을 사용하여 유사의 발생과 퇴적을 산정하고 비균질 상태의 유사 이송을 계산 하는데 있어서 하천 단면형의 변화와 하상물질의 구성 상태, 제방침식, 수로 확폭의 과정과 함께 산정된다. CCHE1D는 하상물질의 공극률과 non-equilibrium adaptation length, mixing layer thickness 등의 여러 변수들을 현재까지 개발된 식들을 제공하며, 토사이동해석을 위한 공식은 SEDTRA 모듈, Wu et al(2000) 공식, 수정 Ackers and White(1973) 공식, 수정 Engelund and Hansen(1967)이 사용된다. 비균질 유사이송과 bed deformation, bed-material sorting은 완전연계과정(coupling)로, 유사와 흐름방정식의 계산은 반연계과정(semi coupling)을 적용하여 계산하였다.
