  • The development of mobile applications is fast in recent years. However, nearly all applications are for messaging, financial, locating services based on simple interactions with mobile users because of the limited screen size, narrow network bandwidth, and low computing power. Processing an algorithm for supporting a group decision process on mobile devices becomes impossible. In this paper, we introduce the mobile-oriented simple interactive procedure for support a group decision making process. The interactive procedure is developed for multiple objective linear programming problems to help the group select a compromising solution in the mobile Internet environment. Our procedure lessens the burden of group decision makers, which is one of necessary conditions of the mobile environment. Only the partial weak order preferences of variables and objectives from group decision makers are enough for searching the best compromising solution. The methodology is designed to avoid any assumption about the shape or existence of the decision makers' utility function. For the purpose of the experimental study of the procedure, we developed a group decision support system in the mobile Internet environment, MOBIGSS and applied to an allocation problem of investor assets.

  • Datum point for displaying location and altitude of point has being advantage usefully in various measurement parts. However, datum point has been increasing loss cases owing to weather changes and stratum changes and neglecting meaninglessly. In this paper, we design and implement a multi electronic measurement system monitoring software with functions such as include maximize utilization of existing measurement datum system as well as collected various environment data and detection stratum changes of surround area. Proposed software is implemented to support that reusability and extensibility of software using object oriented modeling method. Our software supports a GUI for electronic measurement datum point administrator as well as for web user and mobile user. Our system can support a graph GUI for various data analysis and reposition in realtime to database that measured location information and various sensing information to prevent loss of electronic measurement datum point and to detected stratum changes. In addition, we include a QR code and RFID recognition function. Finally, we suggest performance evaluation result to confirm stratum changes detection and GPS location error rate.

  • Mass transit information should contribute many benefits to users. Especially transportation information technology is developing highly with information technology in Korea recently. Hereafter it is expected to provide customized transportation information to users individually with the advent of ubiquitous age in earnest. This public transportation information service can be realized by path finding algorithms in public transportation networks including travel and transfer attributes. In this research, multi objectives such as travel time, transfer time, and number of transfer and so on are constructed with the primary facts influencing users. Moreover, the method reducing user's path finding alternatives arbitrarily is proposed by selecting the best alternative which provides maximum utility to users among non dominated paths. Therefore, the ultimate goal of this study proposes a multi objective shortest paths finding algorithm which can take into account multiple user classes in a transit network with multiple travel modes. The proposed algorithm is demonstrated based on the two case studies - a small toy network and the large-scaled Seoul Metropolitan subway network.

  • Korea Multi-Purpose Satellite I (KOMPSAT-I, the first multi-purpose Korean satellite) will be launched in the third quarter of 1999, which is operated on the sun-synchronous orbit for cartography, ocean color monitoring, and space environment monitoring. The main mission of Electro-Optical Camera(EOC) which is one of KOMPSAT-I sensors is to provide images for the production of scale maps of Korea. EOC collects panchromatic imagery with the ground sample distance of 6.6m at nadir through visible spectral band of 510~730nm. For determining KOMPSAT-I crossing time over Korea, this study examines the diurnal variation of solar and atmospheric variables that can exert a great influence on the EOC imagery. The results are as follows: 1) After 10:30 a.m. at the winter solstice, solar zenith angle is less than $70^{\circ}$ and expected flux of EOC spectral band over land for clear sky is greater than about $2.4mW/cm^2$. 2) For daytime the distribution of cloud cover (clear sky) shows minimum (maximum) at about 11:00 a.m. Although the occurrence frequency of poor visibility by fog decreases from early morning toward noon, its effect on the distribution of clear sky is negligible. From the above examination it is concluded that determining KOMPSAT-I crossing time over Korea between 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. is adequate.

  • The satellite visible data have been successfully applied to study the ocean color. Another ocean color sensor, the Ocean Scanning Multi-spectral Imager (OSMI) on the Korea Multi-Purpose Satellite (KOMPSAT) will be launched in 1999. In order to understand the characteristics of future OSMI images, we have first discussed the simulation models and procedures in detail, and produced typical patterns of radiances at visible bands by using radiative transfer models. The various simulated images of full satellite passes and Korean local areas for different seasons, water types, and the satellite crossing equator time (CET) are presented to illustrate the distribution of each component of radiance (i.e., aerosol scattering, Rayleigh scattering, sun glitter, water-leaving radiance, and total radiance). A method to evaluate the image quality and availability is then developed by using the characteristics of image defined as the Complex Signal Noise Ratio (CSNR). Meanwhile, a series of CSNR images are generated from the simulated radiance components for different cases, which can be used to evaluate the quality and availability of OSMI images before the KOMPSAT will be placed in orbit. Finally, the quality and availability of OSMI images are quantitatively analyzed by the simulated CSNR image. It is hoped that the results would be useful to all scientists who are in charge of OSMI mission and to those who plan to use the data from OSMI.

  • Korea Aerospace Research Institute(KARI) is developing a Korea Multi-Purpose Satellite I(KOMPSAT-I) which accommodates Electro-Optical Camera(EOC), Ocean Color Imager(OCI), Space Physics Sensor(SPS) for cartography, ocean color monitoring, and space environment monitoring respectively. The satellite has the weight of about 500 kg and is operated on the sun synchronized orbit with the altitude of 685km, the orbit period of 98 minutes, and the orbit revisit time of 28days. The satellite will be launched in the third quarter of 1999 and its lifetime is more than 3 years. EOC has cartography mission to provide images for the production of scale maps, including digital elevation models, of Korea from a remote earth view in the KOMPSAT orbit. EOC collects panchromatic imagery with the ground sample distance(GSD) of 6.6m and the swath width of 15km at nadir through the visible spectral band of 510-730 nm. EOC scans the ground track of 800km per orbit by push-broom and body pointed method. OCI mission is worldwide ocean color monitoring for the study of biological oceanography. OCI is a multispectral imager generating 6 color ocean images with and <1km GSD by whisk-broom scanning method. OCI is designed to provide on-orbit spectral band selectability in the spectral range from 400nm to 900nm. The color images are collected through 6 primary spectral bands centered at 443, 490, 510, 555, 670, 865nm or 6 spectral bands selected in the spectral range via ground commands after launch. SPS consists of High Energy Particle Detector(HEPD) and Ionosphere Measurement Sensor(IMS). HEPD has mission to characterize the low altitude high energy particle environment and to study the effects of radiation environment on microelectronics. IMS measures densities and temperature of electrons in the ionosphere and monitors the ionospheric irregularities in KOMPSAT orbit.

  • The structural design of the steel eccentrically braced frame (EBF) was developed and analyzed in this study through multiobjective optimization (MOO). For the optimal design, NSGA-II which is one of the genetic algorithms was utilized. The amount of structure and interfloor displacement were selected as the objective functions of the MOO. The constraints include strength ratio and rotation angle of the link, which are required by structural standards and have forms of the penalty function such that the values of the objective functions increase drastically when a condition is violated. The regulations in the code provision for the EBF system are based on the concept of capacity design, that is, only the link members are allowed to yield, whereas the remaining members are intended to withstand the member forces within their elastic ranges. However, although the pareto front obtained from MOO satisfies the regulations in the code provision, the actual nonlinear behavior shows that the plastic deformation is concentrated in the link member of a certain story, resulting in the formation of a soft story, which violates the capacity design concept in the design code. To address this problem, another constraint based on the Eurocode was added to ensure that the maximum values of the shear overstrength factors of all links did not exceed 1.25 times the minimum values. When this constraint was added, it was observed that the resulting pareto front complied with both the design regulations and capacity design concept. Ratios of the link length to beam span ranged from 10% to 14%, which was within the category of shear links. The overall design is dominated by the constraint on the link's overstrength factor ratio. Design characteristics required by the design code, such as interstory drift and member strength ratios, were conservatively compared to the allowable values.

  • Satellite imagery information have not been fully utilized due to the low R&D investment in remote sensing application though Korea had succeeded in developing series of earth observing satellites during the last decades. However, another series of earth observing satellites such as KOMPSAT 3, 3-A, 5 are going to be launched in the near future. And recent global warming issues stimulate both private and public sectors to make the most of satellite imagery information. Therefore, it is inevitable to promote the utilization of Korean satellite imagery information. In this study, we analyzed the demand and restrictions in exploitation of satellite imagery information in Korea through the online survey and interview. The results showed that the standardization of pre-processing, service of detailed technical information, fast and reliable image data delivery system are mostly required.

  • Recently, the demand for SAR imaging is growing to monitor natural disasters or military sites to foresee topographic changes, where optical sensing is not easily available. High-resolution SAR images are useful in exploring topography and monitoring artificial land objects in all weather conditions. In this paper, high resolution SAR images acquired from KOMPSAT-5 are exploited for the applications of change detection and classification. In order to detect change areas, amplitude change detection (ACD) and coherence change detection (CCD) algorithms are employed and their performances are compared in practical applications. For enhanced performance, the potential of small scaled change detection is explored by combining multi-temporary SAR images. The k-means and SVM methods are applied for land classifications and their performances are compared by applying to the real spaceborne SAR images.

  • The burial culture has prevailed in our county because of the effect of Confucianism. First of all, tombs've had an negative effect on the vista of national land and caused an ineffective use of national land recently. for this reason, the systematic management of the toms is necessary The purpose of this project is to identify tombs' geographical coordinates from orthoimage and to analysis algorithms for extracting tombs on the satellite image. We've used IKONOS image for those purpose, because it's very similar to KOMPSAT-2 image's characteristics which will be launched near future. and, It will make the best use of tombs management of each local government.
