In 2004. as a part of special housing policy for low income household, Korean government initiated 'Multiple-dwelling Purchase and Public Rental Program'(MDPPRP) to help people whose needs for appropriate housing cannot be met in private housing market. The main goal of this program was to provide the base for self support of tenants by purchasing 'Multiple-housing' in bundle and transferring them into rental housing with low price to the low income tenants. Unlike other public rental housing programs, this model program limited the length of stay in the rental housing by six years to lead tenant's self support. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of this model program for further expanding enforcement. For this, two groups of residents of 'multiple-dwelling purchase and public rental program' and permanent rental housing were compared and analyzed. Thirty two tenants of MDPPRP were interviewed for the study. As research methods, document review, onsite tenant interviews using questionnaire were used. As a whole, most of the tenants were satisfied with their 'multiple-dwelling' environment in physical and socio-psychological aspects.

The purpose of our study is empirically to identify residents' satisfaction by 'Dagagu' public rental housing and to find out another improvement to solve the housing problems facing the poor in Daegu. As a new way of settling the housing problems for the poor in city, as you know, 'Dagagu' public rental housing program was introduced by he Korean government in 2004 but rarely empirically evaluated so far. in the Residents' Satisfaction, There are no evaluation of 'Dagagu' public rental housing program except Kim's study(2006). Based on 160 survey data, we evaluated the 'Dagagu'. Public Rental Housing Program within the framework of affordability in economics, a satisfaction in building and in neighborhood by a statistical method. As a result, we find out that residents on 'Dagagu' Public Rental housing are satisfied with the 'Dagagu' Public Rental Housing Program by and large. For mitigating the housing and economic problem of the poor more, self-support program as well as assistance in housing are needed and 'Dagagu' Public Rental housing Program must include neighborhood program more.

The objective of his study is to research the effect of the 'Dagagu' housing purchase and the public rental housing supply on the nearby community. In the case of public rental housing, many studies have demonstrated that the perception that a public rental house is a low income dwelling has an external effect on the residents immediately outside the area such as the perception of the lowering of house prices. However, an advanced research concerning the 'Dagagu' housing purchase and public rental housing has not been carried out because it has only recently been enforced. Through a survey conduced of residents who live nearby the 'Dagagu' housing purchase and public rental housing the aim of his study is to show how the residents perceive the renal houses and are influenced by them. At the same time, this study demonstrates the external effect of rental house supply by analyzing the housing price around the area. Most people who live in the near by 'Dagagu' housing purchase and public renal housing have a negative opinion of his housing because they believe that the residential prices will depreciate. However, only about 40% of the people felt that the residential price depreciation as a result of the 'Dagagu' housing purchase and public rental housing supply was not visible.

This study aims to examine the difference in the level of housing cost burden and the factors affecting housing cost burden between permanent rental housing and purchased rental housing residents in Seoul. We used the 2017 SH Public Housing Resident Survey and employed t-test and multiple regression analyses. The empirical analysis shows that the level of housing cost burden is greater for permanent rental housing residents than purchased rental housing residents. Also, income level, age, and whether receiving housing benefits are the factors affecting housing cost burden among permanent rental housing residents while income level and housing size are the factors affecting housing cost burden among purchased rental housing residents. The findings suggest that there should be a more systematic review regarding housing affordability among those living in different types of public housing toward housing welfare. In addition, there should be differential approach to enhance housing affordability between permanent and purchased rental housing residents.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the social exclusion of 'Da-Ka-Gu' rental housing and permanent rental apartments and to provide basic source of their socio-demographic characteristics and actual conditions of social exclusion. Self-administered questionnaires and interviews were carried out with 212 dwellers in 'Da-Ka-Gu' rental housing and permanent rental apartments in the city of Gwangju from July to October of 2010. The main findings are: 1. The social exclusion of physical deficiency dimension composed of income and employment has been found to be the most serious level, compared to all the other dimensions. 2. The social exclusion from health has been found to be the highest level in the dimension of the approach to social rights. The next highest level has been found to be the social exclusions from residential areas and education and service areas. 3. The level of social exclusions from the areas of family relations and social relations, which are in the dimension of social participation, has been found to be next highest to the level of physical deficiency dimension. 4. The level of exclusion from cultural and normative integration has not been found to be of significant difference between the two types of residence in this study. This study of the actual conditions of social exclusion among residents living in 'Da-Ka-Gu' rental housing and permanent rental apartments suggests the necessity and some practical implications for policy measures of social integration for the residents of lowincome housing.

The purpose of this study was to gather baseline data to be used for improving housing environments and developing welfare policies for low-income groups by identifying the similarities and differences in housing environmental conditions and in the usages of community welfare services between the dwellers of Da-Ka-Gu rental housing and those of permanent rental apartment. This multifaceted diagnosis currently being undertaken can be utilized through the lowincome housing planning and welfare policies as the basis for future policy formulation. Self-administered questionnaires and interviews were carried out by 212 dwellers in Da-Ka-Gu rental housing (104) and permanent rental apartments (108) in the city of Gwangju from July to October of 2010. The main findings are as follows: 1. The dwellers living in both Da-Ka-Gu rental housing and permanent rental apartments are satisfied with their housing environment. Specifically, a higher satisfaction with transportation and a lower satisfaction with neighbor's inter-relationships were evident. The dwellers of Da-Ka-Gu rental housing appear to be more satisfied with community spaces and housing management than those of the permanent rental apartments, whereas the latter appear to be less satisfied with the noise of the housing complex than the former. 2. Of the community welfare service programs, a higher usage is shown for meals service, free health screenings, home repair, and after-school learning programs among all residents in the two housing types. In particular, for the residents of Da-Ka-Gu rental housing, the children's education and parent education programs are more popular, whereas for those of the permanent rental apartments, the housekeeping services and health services utilization are highest.

The purpose of this qualitative study are to understand housing environmental conditions of the beneficiaries of housing welfare program. A case study was adopted to collect and analyze data from 6 persons who are low-income dwellers in 'Dagagu' housing purchase and public rental program and permanent rental apartment. Data were collected by in-depth interview. The lowest income bracket would be the beneficiaries of housing welfare program, consider the type of the target households are selected directly by visiting there home life, housing and welfare-related aspects of interviewing evaluate the significance of the housing satisfaction and residential conditions.

The aim of this study is to provide primary data to propel business intended for the entire nation through the analytic assessment of the propulsion process of the newly attempted 'Dagagu' Housing Purchase and Public Rental Program (DPPRP) for the cities low income bracket. The study method was to conduct analysis of data, interview survey, onsite tenant interviews and examination of the locale in order to analyze the execution of the program and experiences of the administrator in charge of executing the model program. In the case of the enforcement of the 'Dagagu' Housing Purchase and Public Rental Program(DPPRP), combined teams of the specialty fields of purchase, rental, and management are needed; operation propulsion system of the purchase process of the housing, rental process for selecting the tenant, and the entire process of management afterwards needs to be maintained; and a collaboration system with related organizations need to be constructed.

As a new way of stabilizing the housing for the urban poor, the Korean government proposed 'Dagagu' Housing Purchase and Public Rental Program (DPPRP) and implemented a pilot program in 2004. The purpose of this study was to find out whether DPPRP could be an alternative measure to solve the housing problems facing the urban poor. Physical aspects and community conditions of 'Dagagu' housing purchased by the government will be evaluated. The changes in the tenants' perception of the quality of housing after moving in the current dwellings will be studied. 46 households were temporarily selected, who moved in the purchased public rental housing in 5 districts (DPPRP pilot area). And among them, 32 households were designated as the final subjects, which could do the interview. The surveyors made door-to-door visits to tenants' houses and conducted in-depth interview by using a questionnaire The effects of 'Dagagu' Housing Purchase and Public Rental Program can be summarized according to housing environment aspects and economic aspects as follows: After moving in the public rental housing, the respondents saw improvements in overall housing environment and were satisfied with the current housing. According to a survey on the rental fee before and after moving in public rental housing, the rental fee of the latter had greatly declined. Given that the quality of previous housing was inferior to the current housing, the lessened rental burden was very meaningful.
