Cultural Homelessness and Psychological Well-Being of Young Cross-Cultural Individuals: Moderating Role of Emotional Clarity (교차문화 청소년들의 문화적 소속감의 부재와 심리적 안녕감의 관계: 정서인식 명확성의 조절효과를 중심으로)

  • Objectives: This study investigated the challenges of young cross-cultural individuals (CCIs) through the cultural homelessness (CH) framework. Methods: Through a survey of 151 CCIs, the study empirically examined the relationship between CH and psychological well-being (PWB), as well as the moderating role of emotional clarity (EC). Results: Results indicated that CH was significantly and negatively associated with PWB, especially on the Positive Relations with Others and Environmental Mastery dimensions. Individuals with high CH tended to have less satisfactory relationships and a reduced sense of control over daily life situations, regardless of their EC level. A significant interaction effect between CH and EC was found, specifically in Positive Relations with Others (PR) and Personal Growth (PG). For individuals with high CH, however, satisfactory relationships were dependent on their EC level; they reported more positive relationships with others when their EC levels were high. Interestingly, individuals with high CH were likely to report a high desire for personal growth regardless of their EC level, indicating that they may appear ambitious but may be experiencing unclear emotions. Conclusions: These findings suggest that CH and EC are issues that need to be dealt with simultaneously. As individuals' PWB depends not only on their CH level, but also on their EC, reducing the level of CH should not be the only goal in promoting the well-being of CCIs. Increasing individuals' EC would be just as important, as high EC, along with low CH, predicts important dimensions of PWB.

Instagram User's Contingent Self-Esteem and Depression: A Mediating Role of Upward Social Comparison (인스타그램 이용자의 조건부 자아존중감이 우울 경험에 미치는 영향: 인스타그램 내 상향 비교의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • Contingent self-esteem can be maintained by meeting the standards of social or introjected values. This study investigated whether social media-related contingent self-esteem was associated with depression in Instagram users; in a sample of 319 Instagram users, we examined the effect of contingent self-esteem on depression and the mediating effect of upward social comparison on this theorized relationship. The study findings indicated that higher contingent self-esteem predicted higher levels of depression for a week in Instagram users, which could be explained by the upward social comparisons made on this application, and showed that Instagram users with higher contingent self-esteem tended to compare themselves with other users they considered superior, thereby increasing their depression. This study provided evidence for the mechanism underlying the association between using social media and psychological well-being and indicated the vulnerability of contingent self-esteem within the social media context. Other implications and future research directions were also discussed.

Effect of individuality-relatedness and well-being of the youth on creativity (청소년의 개별성-관계성과 안녕감이 창의성에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted as an explorative effort to know significant variables on creativity. Particularly, with interest in individuality-relatedness and well-being, it is investigated that how those affect creativity of the youth. For this, a questionnaire measuring integrative creativity, individuality-relatedness and integrative well-being is given to 836 middle and high school students in Seoul and investigate relationship among variables. The results show higher individuality, relatedness and well-being tend to induce higher creativity. Each of individuality, relatedness and creativity has different influences on creativity. Over the whole creativity, explanation gets higher in order of individuality, well-being and relatedness. When creativity and well-being are classified into a sub-category, creative motivation has a high explanation in order of individuality, psychological well-being and relatedness. And creative attitude has a high explanation in order of individuality, relatedness and psychological well-being. About creative ability, all the predictors are explained in order of individuality, psychological well-being, relatedness, emotional well-being and social well-being.

A Study on the Differences of Problem-Solving Ability between Students with High Level of Self-efficacy and Students with Low Level of Self-efficacy (PBL 수업에서 공과대학 학생들의 자기효능감 수준에 따른 문제해결 능력 차이)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the difference of problem-solving ability according to student's level of self-efficacy. Participants were 72 junior students who took the course 'Environmental Instrumental Analysis'. Before the PBL activities, students were given the self-efficacy tests to all students. Among them, 44 students(30% of each high and low ranking) were selected and encouraged to complete pre-problem solving tests. The PBL was conducted for 12 weeks using blended learning strategies. After the PBL, 44students completed post-problem solving tests. Results showed that there were differences of problem-solving ability according to student's level of self-efficacy. From the results, instructional strategies for promoting students' self-efficacy should be employed for enhancing problem-solving ability in PBL activities.

  • In this paper, we examined the effect of positive affect and negative affect on the life satisfaction in the workplace. Also, this study focused on an empirical test of the role of work self-efficacy and work meaningfulness in the subjective well-being of office worker. To achieve this purpose, we suggested a research model consisting of factors such as work self-efficacy, work meaningfulness, positive affect, negative affect, life satisfaction. Data was collected using the survey method, and analyzed using structural equation model. According to PLS analysis, first, lower negative affect was associated with higher life satisfaction. Secondly, work meaningfulness was a very important predictor for the subjective well-being of office worker.

The Effects of Personal Job-Organizational Fit of Social Workers on Job Loss and Moderating Effect of Perceived Organizational Justice (사회복지사의 직무적합성과 조직적합성이 직무상실감에 미치는 영향 및 조직공정성의 조절효과)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the moderating effects of perceived organizational justice on the associations between personal job-organizational fit and job loss perceived by social workers. The survey was conducted on social workers in Gwangju. This study conducted descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, hierarchical multiple regression analysis using SPSS 24.0 as an analysis method to verify the main assumptions of this study. The analysis showed that First, The degree of personal job-organizational fit was shown to be slightly higher than normal. perceived organizational justice was investigated as two sub-factors, and distributive justice was shown to be slightly lower than normal and procedural justice to be higher than normal. The degree of job loss was also investigated at a lower level than normal. Second, personal job-organizational fit had negative(-) effects on job loss and the effects were moderated by perceived organizational justice.

Comparative Study of Learning Strategies between Mathematical Gifted Children and Average Students in Elementary School (초등수학영재와 일반학생의 학습전략 검사결과 비교 연구)

  • This study is to understanding characteristics of Mathematical gifted children by comparing and analyzing of the learning strategies between gifted children and average students. The result of this study is as below. First, the mathematical gifted children's application ability on the cognitive meta-cognitive strategies and learning resources management strategies was higher than average students. Second, in case of learning resources management strategies between gender, male mathematical gifted students's t-test showed higher than female gifted students. Also, in case of average students, male student's t-test for the learning motive was higher than average female students. Third, mathematical gifted children are positive correlation among the learning motive, self-efficacy, cognitive meta-cognitive strategies, and learning resources management strategies. And in case of average student, it had a positive correlation among the learning motive, self-efficacy, and cognitive meta-cognitive strategies. But there is no correlation between learning strategies and cognitive meta-cognitive strategies.

Influence of particle size on sensing characteristics of hydrothermally treated nano-sized $SnO_2$ (수열합성법으로 제조한 나노 크기의 $SnO_2$ 입자 크기에 따른 반응 특성)

  • SnO$_2$를 모물질로 하는 가스센서는 n형 산화물 반도체로서 공기중의 산소의 흡탈착 및 전자의 수수에 의해 전기전도도의 변화로 특정 가스를 감지한다. 지금까지 반도체식 가스센서의 모물질로 가장 많이 연구되어 왔지만 아직도 선택성, 안정성 등 여러 가지 문제를 안고 있다. 그리고 개선방안으로 귀금속 촉매의 첨가 및 입자의 크기의 조절 등이 흔히 연구되어 왔다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 순수한 SnO$_2$ 를 이용하여 소결 온도 및 입자 크기에 의한 영향을 CO가스 및 수분에 대한 감도, 반응 시간을 통해 알아보았다. 수열 합성 및 침전 법으로 나노 크기의 SnO$_2$ 분말을 합성하여 스크린 인쇄법으로 후막 가스센서를 제조하였다 침전법에서 SnCl$_4$에 암모니아수로 pH=10.5로 적정하여 SnO$_2$ 분말을 얻었다. 그리고 입자 크기를 조절하기 위해 수열 합성 시 autoclave 내의 수열처리 온도를 100, 150, 20$0^{\circ}C$로 조절하여 SnO$_2$ 분말을 제조하고 입자 크기와 성분분석을 위해 XRD, SEM, TEM, BET 측정을 하였다. 그 결과 침전법으로 제조한 입자의 크기는 20nm 정도였으며 수열 처리한 SnO$_2$ 입자는 10nm이하의 미세한 입자를 얻을 수 있었다. 수열 합성 시 온도가 높아질수록 더 작은 입자 크기를 얻을 수 있었고 600, 7()0, 80$0^{\circ}C$ 열처리 후 입자성장이 침전법에 의한 SnO$_2$ 분말보다 더 작게 일어났다. 이렇게 제조한 나노크기의 SnO$_2$ 분말을 이용하여 습도 및 CO 가스에 대한 그 특실을 평가하였다. CO 20ppm에 대하여 40%정도의 감도를 보였으며 입자가 작아질수록 높은 감도를 보이는 것을 확인 할 수 있었다. 반면 CO 가스와 반응 후 회복 시 입자 의기가 작아질수록 회복이 늦어짐을 알 수 있었다. 그리고 15$0^{\circ}C$에서 습도에 대한 반응 후 회복시간을 조사해보니 같은 결과를 얻을 수 있었다. 이것은 입자 필기가 작아질수록 많은 흡착 사이트를 제공함으로써 높은 감도를 가지지만 반면 다량의 흡착된 가스들이 탈착 하는데 더 많은 시간이 소요되었기 때문이다.

Effect of Career Empowerment Program on Career Maturity, Career Decision-making Self-Efficacy, and Employment Stress of Nursing College Students (진로능력강화프로그램이 간호학생의 진로성숙도, 진로결정자기효능감 및 취업스트레스에 미치는 효과)

  • This study was pre-experimental research designed to compare the differences between pre-and post-program on nursing student's career maturity, career decision-making self-efficacy and employment stress. The subjects were 247 junior-year students in nursing school. Mean value for career maturity was from 2.59 to 2.57, career decision-making self-efficacy from score 3.44 to 3.65 in average(t=8.67, p<.001), and employment stress from score 2.94 to 2.83 in average(t=-3.46, p<.001). Career maturity was significantly different according to high employment rate(F=3.15, p=.025), high career preparation(F=2.69, p=.032). Career decision-making self-efficacy and employment stress was significantly different according to high career preparation(F=1.22, p=.031) and low career preparation(F=2.52, p=.030).

The Relationships among Leader-member Exchange(LMX), Leader Integrity, Perceived Team Efficacy, Organizational Citizenship Behavior (LMX, 리더 도덕성, 지각된 팀효능감 및 조직시민행동의 관계)

  • This paper investigates the relationships between leader-member exchange(LMX), perceived team efficacy, and organizational citizenship behavior(OCBI, OCBO) in the Korea Post. Also the study investigates the moderator effect of leader integrity and the mediator effect of perceived team efficacy in the relationships between LMX and OCB(OCBI, OCBO). The multiple regression analysis were employed to test the hypotheses. The main finding of this study was as follows: First, LMX had a positive effect on the perceived team efficacy. Second, the perceived team efficacy had a positive impact on OCB(OCBI, OCBO). Third, the perceived team efficacy completely mediated effect on the relationship between LMX and OCBI. Also the perceived team efficacy partially mediated effect on the relationship between LMX and OCBO. Fourth, the positive relationships between LMX and OCB(OCBI, OCBO) were stronger when leader integrity was high rather than low. In particular, this review concludes with implications for future research, limitations of this study, and practical application.
