  • In order to solve the problems such as reduction of agriculture population, aging and declining of grain self sufficiency rate, agriculture ICT convergence technology utilizing IoT technology is actively being developed. Agricultural ICT technology only concentrates on facility houses, and there is no automated control system in the field of cultivation. In this paper, we propose an irrigation control system that automatically controls the solenoid valves and water pumps in a large area with Lora wireless communication. The proposed system does not require a separate power source by using a small solar panel, and it is very convenient to install and operate supporting wireless auto setup by plug-and-play method. Therefore, it is expected that it will contribute to the reduction of labor force, quality of agricultural products, and productivity improvement.

  • Smart Farm, which combines agriculture and ICT convergence technology, is at a lower stage than other industries in Korea, but it is also one of the most active research and development fields. Smart Farm aims to improve the efficiency of each step by collecting, processing and analyzing various information of agriculture sector through convergence between agriculture and ICT technology. In this study, we studied the image processing method that can distinguish strawberry which can be harvested at harvest time by color for smart farm composition of strawberry which is a horticultural crop. Strawberry harvesting requires a lot of labor in the process of growing strawberries. In this study, we aim to collect information necessary for labor saving in strawberry harvester. As a precedent study, we plan to implement a form in which the color temperature changes according to the light direction and brightness value through OpenCV color detection using Python. In the future, it is planned to study strawberry color value suitable for harvest by applying compensation value to color temperature change.

  • Recently, as the ICT field has been used in various environments, it has become possible to analyze pests by crops, use robots when harvesting crops, and predict by big data by utilizing ICT technologies in a sustainable agricultural environment. However, in a sustainable agricultural environment, efforts to solve resource depletion, agricultural population decline, poverty increase, and environmental destruction are constantly being demanded. This paper proposes an artificial intelligence-based big data processing analysis method to reduce the production cost and increase the efficiency of crops based on a sustainable agricultural environment. The proposed technique strengthens the security and reliability of data by processing big data of crops combined with AI, and enables better decision-making and business value extraction. It can lead to innovative changes in various industries and fields and promote the development of data-oriented business models. During the experiment, the proposed technique gave an accurate answer to only a small amount of data, and at a farm site where it is difficult to tag the correct answer one by one, the performance similar to that of learning with a large amount of correct answer data (with an error rate within 0.05) was found.

  • There are many damages due to the unstable climate. Among them, agriculture will be the most affected by the climate. Agriculture has limited crops that can be grown along with climate and seasons. We will develop smart farms that integrate information technology(ICT) into agricultural technology and improve the productivity of existing agricultural technology. It uses Raspberry Pi and Arduino to control the hardware and software, and uses various sensors to recognize the environment necessary for crop cultivation and maintain optimal environment. In addition, it is possible to manipulate these Smart Farm as mobile or personal PC to implement a flexible Smart Farm.

  • This study aimed to clarify the effect of information technology (IT) education on the efficiency and effectiveness of working processes among agriculture corporations. Survey data on information levels from 222 agriculture corporations were collected from the Korean Agency of Education, Promotion, and Information Service in Food, Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries (EPIS) for a governmental white paper. Structural equation modeling was used for analysis. This study found that IT education increases the ratio of the use of information systems in working processes, especially given the use of data accumulated through information and communications technologies (ICT). The findings of this study suggest that the use of ICT data as an aspect of IT education is beneficial for the agricultural sector.

  • The emerging smart world based on IoT requires deployment of a large number of diverse sensors to generate data pertaining to different applications. Recent years have witnessed a plethora of IoT solutions beneficial to various application domains, IoT techniques also help boost agricultural productivity by increasing crop yields and reducing losses. This paper presents a predictive IoT smart farm platform for forcast services. We built an online agricultural forecasting service that collects microclimate data from weather stations in real-time. To demonstrate effectiveness of our proposed system, we designed a frost and pest forecasting modes on the microclimate data collected from weather stations, notifies the possibilities of frost, and sends pest forecast messages to farmers using push services so that they can protect crops against damages. It is expected to provide effectively that more precise climate forecasts thus could potentially precision agricultural services to reduce crop damages and unnecessary costs, such as the use of non-essential pesticides.

  • Under the great influence of ICT technology, China is forging ahead steadily and rapidly in the area of smart farming. In the last decade, Chinese government has carried out strategic plans to promote its economic development in agriculture, such as the plan of Made In China 2025 and One Belt One Road initiative. This thesis's objective is to analyze how such plans and initiative can provide 'windows of opportunity' to the development of smart farming industry in China. China led the development of smart agriculture by making a T-shaped rise which is composed with 'One Belt One Road Initiative and Made in China 2025 Plan. This thesis is divided into three types as path-following catch-up, path-skipping catch-up, path-creating catch-upAs this thesis also manages to provide some implications on the export strategies of South Korea's smart farming industry by understanding chinese samrt farm industry.

  • This paper propose a system to notify the user that detects failure of malfunction of smart farm ICT devices. As the fourth industrial revolution approaches, agriculture is also fused with ICT technology to improve competitiveness. Smart farming market is rapidly growing every year, but there is still a lack of standardization and certification systems. Especially, smart farm devices that are widely used in Korea are different in product specifications, software and hardware are developed separately, and quality and compatibility are poor. Therefore, a system that can recognize the abnormality of the equipment due to the frequent damage of farmers using low cost smart farm equipment is needed. In this paper, we review smart farm domestic and overseas policy trends and domestic smart agriculture trends, analyze smart farm failure or malfunctions and proactively prevent them, and propose a system to inform users when problems occur.

  • As the development of ICT and integration technology, many changes and innovations in agriculture field are implemented. The agricultural sector has shifted from a traditional industry to a new industrial form called the 6th industry combined with various advanced technologies such as ICT and IT. Various approaches have been attempted to analyze and predict crops based on spatial information. In particular, a variety of research has been carried out recently for crop cultivation and smart farms using drones. The goal of this study was to establish an agricultural drought monitoring system using drones to produce scientific and objective indicators of drought. A soil moisture sensor was installed in the drought area and checked the actual soil moisture. The soil moisture data was used by the reference value to compare and analyze the temperature and NDVI established by drones. The soil temperature by the drone thermal image sensor and the NDVI by the drone hyperspectral was analyzed the correlation between crop condition and soil moisture in study area. To verify this, the actual soil moisture was calculated using the soil moisture measurement sensor installed in the target area and compared with the drone performance. This study using drone drought monitoring system may enhance to promote the crop data and to save time and economy.
